This year no clear theme play visible. Quality planation counter with dividend is ok. Stick with mid size like Kim Loong Resources.

This kind of directionless scenario may stay for some time.

If dividend is ok still acceptable, no lose money consider popi popi Liao

Bursa very bad. I think a lot people shifted their funds to China / Hk market.

I've shifted to cash in Q4 last year to adopt a wait and see approach.

Not really, many still prefer to invest coins , gold and us shares. Those who shift actually not majority.
If from foreign investor perspective, bursa don't have any attraction point.

Gold gone up pretty high, still can invest?. As for US shares, valuations already high and with Trump’s tariff and offensive managements style, I don’t think it’s gonna be a good year for US in general.

I choose hk shares, but we can't deny the fact that majority of theinvestor/ trader still prefer us shares, gold and crypto coins.

Depends on your horizon.
I mostly use it as a hedging tool.

I can't anwer on a short term, one two year perspective.
That's volatility and dependent on too many factors I can't control.

I will answer from long horizon perspective. Below is the price of gold from the past 20 years. You decide based on the data.

Building a nice retirement home in 2005 is 10 kilos of gold.
Building a nice retirement home in 2025 is also 10 kilos of gold.

My overall portfolio performance is ok ok coz it is very diversified with a few big multibagger winners like Nvidia,iFast, sunway-wb .... but I am weary of the years and years of underperformance in Bursa and HK stocks.

More and more, I think crypto, particularly bitcoin, is a better option compared to stocks.

Nationgate is the prime example to NOT trust blindly on a educational investment firm

You must do your own research, especially now with what Trump will gonna do to Malaysian firms or not

Have been holding long term (>5 years) on some shares in bursa but the returns are negative. So nowadays switch to trading short terms (days). To me better to take the profit now than let it disappear by holding long term

holding long term doesn't mean holding forever. You need to observe the ebbs and tides of the market. Warren Buffet is not a trader either, but you see his recent few years selling off and stockpiling cash waiting for this day smile.gif

just remember don't trade against the trend. low can be lower you can never predict the lowest price and you can never average down so much like those big investors or big sharks

just trade or buy when the klci is going uptrend and choose the best stock

look at those who average down in genting really gone case! and bursa ain't us market, in the us the market can comeback to your buying price in long term but bursa is the opposite

never trade on trends, neither with nor against. Trade on the fundamentals. If in doubt, hold cash smile.gif

actually if you are buying low can try us market because in the long run the market will come back (according to history of us stock) and of course you have to buy those famous stock and deep analysis also required particularly the magnificent 7.

for Malaysia market I don't really have confidence in it as you can read from the news heavy foreign outflows and our politics not stable, sometimes oppositions will have the numbers? haha

yes fundamental is important but for me news first, chart second and lastly fundamental as fundamental can always change if the company suddenly gets a new project or big announcements. market always goreng up news first then pump and dump those profits they dont really care as it will take time for the company to realise the future profits (then will come the second wave).

Indonesia's stock market halted trading on Tuesday for the first time since 2020 after the benchmark Jakarta Stock Exchange Composite Index plunged more than 7% from the previous day's close, reigniting concerns over economic stability and consumer sentiment.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange halted trading for 30 minutes this morning after the index lost 5%.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange announced on Tuesday that a temporary halt on the trading system was confirmed at 11:19:31 Jakarta time due to the IDX composite's decline. When trading resumed, the index extended its losses to 7.1% at one point, before regaining some ground.

Will this drop spread to other ASEAN market like AFC 1997?
