sounds pretty cool.U might get ur first long term client from now on~

give them ur best quality.

Artist or designer's job is neva show them ur unsincerity. Better than u regret later.

Plus, u can still compiles ur works into a portfolio. so, it is no harm to do ur best for them. It is for the sake of ur future's career in another point of view.

U all can get a chance like this once u all have an experience in design and quality to give the best artwork & satisfaction for our customers..Dont aspect to much on 1st project. 1st project u have to show them ur skill & quality to make them confidence & later will find u back for next project.

hie bobba.. smile.gif congrates on getting your first freelancing project.. i agree with everyone that charge based on your skills.. dont go to high if you dont think you deserve that much and not tooo low so we can mantain the standard of us designers.. however.. charge a bit lower is kinda ok.. above all, in my opinion is buat keje betul2 and make them happy.. they can be long term clients and they may even recommend your services to others..

good luck! for your first project.. getting 1k is ok..

one more thing.. try getting 20-50% payment upfront.. those clients who are willing to do that, u know they are professional and sincere.. ive done one freelance, been published for international front cover.. and didnt get paid smile.gif

it's pretty "common" culture at Malaysia. So, best is u askin for downpayment.

And before u submit ur final works. Watermark every pages. After they complete the final payment, u will submit them a clean version of ur work.

U no need to do this if u r very confidence wif em.
When matters involve money, everything could goes twisted.
