wat format u want input?

well....im havin a vcd..
n i wanna rip it 2 my hard disk 1st..
after dat, maybe mp3, avi or wma or sumtin la

did anyone know what s/w (hope can get freeware) can get good quality but small file after converting file into .avi (such DrDivx) but in batch mode(can enque them in waiting list) not need me to wait 1 by 1.

1. have a MPEG file that i want to convert to DivX. the video part is no problem. the problem is i can't compress the audio part into LAME MP3 with more than 56kbps in VirtualDub. according to the guide, it says i need "l3codecp.acm" for more than 56kbps mp3 encoding. when i search through my pc, i found out that the file is there, together with ''l3codeca.acm" that supports up to 56kbps. but when i check the codec under System Properties, i only see ''l3codeca.acm". is it the limiting factor?

why i can't encode more than 56kbps although i have "l3codecp.acm" but it's not listed in System Properties?

so, i try to import the MPEG file to DVDx for encoding, but and error occur saying "fail to parse file.no header found". what is that? why VirtualDub can do the parsing thingy?

2. why DivX encoding doesn't make my mpeg file size smaller? i found out sometimes it's bigger. it only becomes small if i compress the audio part into MP3.

google for LAME mp3 encoder package. in the package, there are the "lameacm.acm" and "lameacm.inf" files. install the lameacm.acm by using the lameacm.inf.

personally, i would use the LAME codec than Fraunhofer codec because i've read that LAME is better at medium/high bitrates while Fraunhofer is better at low bitrates.

wta, how to cut a 1.4gb movie to 700mb? or devide it with the quality still there.

Encode it to a compressed format(divx, xvid, etc), compress the source audio to mp3, etc.

How can I convert a .WMV file into a format that's playable on my cheapo VCD player?
