The rubber is fitted just inside the outer most fin notch. Look at the manual, it is clearly shown there.

Now orthosing my 4200+ at 2.6 Ghz. In aircon room at 27'c, the core temp is 47/51'c.

If I switch off aircon, will jump up to 52/56'c......

What would you all say is a safe max CPU temp. My TDP max is 65'c, so should I push to almost that temperature or lower e.g. 60 'c.....
*
Er..the problem is, my fan box does not come with any manual..lol...

QUOTE(Kataro @ May 12 2007, 05:35 PM)
The fan use in TTBTVX is Noctua too? If not, the comparison is not fair... should use same fan to see which will give better performance... anyway, that is just my opinion...correct me if I am wrong... icon_rolleyes.gif

@akachester

In case you mean how to fit it in to the casing, just push it in, then use player to pull it from the other side, then should be in liao... hope you get what I mean...sorry, no photo to show...  tongue.gif icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Well, i kinda understand but its kinda hard to pull at the other end. Not to mention it will be hard to take it out next time. For now, i will stick with the supplied screw until i realise how good it is first..lol..Now try to search online to see how to fix those rubber thing..

And to keep my promise to bro irangan, here to drop some of my comments on the fans...

First of all, for those who are expecting great air preasure as like those of SS FM series, do step away. The Noctua fan is no where near the preassure of the SS..

The most surprising thing i get to know about the Noctua fan is that they are EXTREMELY silent. No, i mean, not even a slight sound produced. thumbup.gif They did an awesome job in creating this fan. People who are looking forward to a silent rig, really look no further. This should be the best available..In term of air preassure, it is quite good in my oppinion. Better than the very bad LL fans and almost on par with my previous Thermaltake fan which is quite noisy as well..Therefore, i am satisfied.

If you would need any info, once i switch over from my LL to the Noctua fan, the temperature of my HDD drop 2 - 3c which is quite good. Therefore, two thumbs up for this product. Looking forward to get one more for side intake once i get my hands on the LL side panel extension...

P.S. To some people, the color and design of the fan is weird but i am really in love with the color and design. So distinctive and beautiful..lol...Great money spent.

Actually it is quite easy to pull if you using a Player Tajam... and did you notice, the fan come with the adapter you want to get last time... which have a resister inside which make it to run slower... brows.gif For my case, my SATA hdd temp up 1-3C as the hdd cage block the air flow... the air tendang balik to the front mesh... doh.gif will install it to the cdrom bay after getting my fan holder from bombman...hopefully the temp will be lower... still trying to figure out how I am going to change some of the things inside to make the air flow better... flex.gif anyway, now the weather is hot...so no matter what I do also couldn't get the temp down too much... shakehead.gif

lol...i didnt realised that..Maybe i will go double check the packaging later...

Mine is still ok cause i only have one HDD so the airflow is still good. Problem in airflow still exist cause only my air intake is good currently, not the exhaust.Still need to wait for my FM121 so that the airflow will be better...

Me also have only 1 hdd at front intake there...but the problem is the hdd cage... it is facing to the side panel, so the air flow is blocked, only have little space for the air flow to go thru... sweat.gif yeah... adding FM-121 to the rear should have better air flow... laugh.gif

Errrr.... 48'c at idle? That's not correct....

This is my setup (temperature depending on ambient temp):

Idle : 30-34'c
Orthos (both cores) @ 2.7 Ghz: 54'c (currently) (range 51-56'c)
Vcore : Stock (CPU-Z shows 1.32v sometimes, 1.34v sometimes)

Polaris also had an idle core temp of 50'c. Dunno what's wrong. Did you reset the bios?

[attachmentid=228989]

As you can see, its come with four push screws. Good to absord vibration and thus reduce the noise level. smile.gif

U12F in box smile.gif

Go to pack the goods for you guys now. hehe

well, let me explain something...

before using NH-U12F, I was used Ninja on Opteron 146.

when getting the NH-U12F, at the same time I got myself X2 3800+ E4 (not that one from elhh82's bulk), when prime the proc, I got something temp. diff. both core around 8-10'c but for idle, the temp. diff. both core are indentical, 36'c/38'c. I re-install the HSF and same result obtained.

after getting X2 3800+ E6 from elhh82, I moved the E4 to my another amd rig, and run it together with thermalright xp90c. this time the emp. diff. both core is with 4-6'c which is normal for most X2 proc. this prove that the proc is normal.

okay, then I install the x2 3800+ E6 with the NH-U12F, under idle condition, the temp. diff. both core at least 9'c or higher. while priming, it can go up to 12'c temp. diff. both core. I removed it and installed again for 2 time, the result was same. sweat.gif

p/s: I tried the hsf in both vertical and horizontal location, same result was obtained and noticed that vertical give rise to the PWM temp.

That's a bit funny. I wonder how the core temperature are read. Could it be because of your mobo reading the wrong temperature?

Anyway, saw your sig. 3800+ @ 2.7 Ghz!!! Cool! Is it stable? Vcore from CPU-Z?

no, it cant be the mobo reading wrong temperature since both of my amd rig are based the same mobo with the same bios.

still orthos'ing... laugh.gif 1.36v in bios and 1.344v in cpu-z wheread 1.34 in SmartGuardian. as you noticed, the temp. diff. between both core are 12'c. btw, the room temp. is around 31.7'c

I think he means your mobo which you have very high temp have problem...even thought both mobo is same, 1 of it might have problem in the temp probe... icon_rolleyes.gif

Yup. That's what I mean. You were thinking that your E4 had that problem but it was normal when you switch rig. Ever consider switching the E6 to the E4 rig and vice versa?

Wow! Isn't 63'c for one core high? BTW, noticed that your TCaseMax is 67'c. What is the recommended safe max core temp?

erm... I was thinking to do that before but it really kinda trouble to make it, somemore have to waste the AS5 sweat.gif

btw, we always wish to get the highest TCaseMax value in order to overclock to the max. the higher the value, the longer range of the proc reach that value before it prime fail. eg, if the TCaseMax is 65'c, mean that your proc mostly will prime failed when around that value.

the TCaseMax of my X2 E4 is only 59'c, that's why it only can hit up to 2.5GHz since priming it the temp. is around 58-60'c.

Sorry. What I meant was how close can we get to TCaseMax without increasing the risk of damage to our CPU? What would be a recommended safe range? e.g. if my TCaseMax is 65'c, should I OC until 60'C or can I go higher?

I dont think that TCaseMax is the measurement of what you meant by. as long as you did not pump it with high vcore and provide it with good cooling, then your proc should be stafety.

once we overclock that mean we forced the proc to run at higher frequency and thus it might be bring negative effect to it. laugh.gif
