Bulk still open aaa?

Can I still get the NH-U12F?

Does it fit my mobo (K8N Neo2 939)?

However, I can only bank in the money early tomorrow morning (about 7-8 am).

Bulk still open until 9pm something today I think. The NH-U12F can be fix as 90 degree (push to PSU) on your mobo but you need to measure from center of the proc socket to the IDE slot there whether have more than 63mm, if not, will need to install the IDE cable first before install the HSF or it will be hard for you to install... as for 180 degree (push to rear) will be crash to the ram slot and gc there from my observation to the mobo picture from MSI website... icon_rolleyes.gif

Aiyaa, me too late. doh.gif cry.gif

Nvm la, will wait for next bulk.

Thx for the info. I did go to the Noctua website and it does fit my mobo!!! thumbup.gif

No problem la. Guess I have to burn in the CPU at stock speed first.

Once the HSF comes, then it is OC time! brows.gif

it's impossible to achieve 31 C in our climate condition. lowest i can get is about 34~35 C in raining day or in early morning 3~6am.
*
What HSF are you using? If you're using a good HSF then I'm sure you can achieve lower temperature. My CPU is running at 27-28 degrees celcius now (in air-con rooom) also set at 27 degrees celcius). If without aircon - usually around 29-30 degrees celcius.

On hot day, probably around 31-32 (I think, didn't notice it recently...)

But oopsss.... I'm running cool & quiet also.....

Was hoping to lower the big difference between sys temp and cpu temp.
Initially I also use msi cool and quiet, but at the first week of using the noctua fan there was a weird glitch, the fan speed would fall under the minimum temperature and the core center would beep, so now I changed it to manual mode with the noctua fan at top speed of 1278 rpm.

*
Oh, I don't use core center. Like you describe, I had similar problems.

I use speedfan to control my HSF. Try speedfan. It allows you to set your own customized speed for the fan depending on the CPU temperature.

The other app to control the HSF is MBM (motherboard monitor). I haven't use that before so dunno whether it is better.....

I just installed Speedfan and it shows the 'core' temp at 50C. What does 'core' mean? It couldn't be the cpu since using msi core center it shows 42C.

*
Core is your CPU temperature.

Errr... you need to refer to the speedfan guide on how to setup it up for your computer.

One thing. Under the "reading" tab, go to configure. Then go to the advance tab. Select the monitoring chip of the mobo (e.g. for mine, it is Winbond W83627THF). See the temperature sensor diode - mine is set to PII diode. (but you need to refer and see what you mobo diode is).

It is a powerful app if you know how to use it properly.

So fast! Cool! Give us a feedback on how the cooler performs ok?

Irangan, me also request the tracking code. Usually not at home during office hours and need to request poslaju not to send to my house (usually I go to poslaju to collect before they send it..... that way, more laju!!! shocking.gif )

Hi bro.
PMed u but not reply..
Anyway, count me in into your 5th bulk. I'll bank in to u tomorrow.
I'll take 1 unit of NH-U12 (without fan).
Does it come with extra thermal paste?
Please PM me the reply.
Thanks.

He went for business trip la.... Ya, the NH-U12 does come with extra thermal paste.

Hey, irangan. I've got my NH-U12F!!! rclxms.gif thumbup.gif icon_idea.gif rclxm9.gif biggrin.gif

Thx a lot for bringing it in. Fan is excellent! Now on to core temp test......

Just curious, look at the picture below, there is such a nice space below all the fins. And the base is flat.

Do you think sticking another heatsink down there will improve cooling? You know, let's say we stick a chipset heatsink or heatsink fan.......

I think it might...but i also think the effect is insignificant. I tried it on my G-power bl once, and i dont see any difference. Just my opinion tongue.gif

The day finally come....gonna go home and assembly my noctua today...wohoooo...can't wait... rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif
*
But some of the top end HSF do have a large heat sink attached to the base. Surely it would have an effect. Anybody else tried this?

Eh? How come you haven't received you Noctua?

No..no...i have received mine, just haven't assemble it yet. Working days...12hours of work, go home sleep only  cry.gif . Never got a chance to put it in. Today my off day starts, after i finish in 1 and half our more, gonna go pick up my AS5 from zamree7 at serdang. Go home and start my project...bwahahaha

About that heatsink thing, i see your point. my nt06 also got a small heatsink at that spot. But from my experiment on my g-power, i didn't see any effect. Maybe i didn't put it correctly. Maybe soon i'll try it on my NH-U12F....
*
No wonder la you're up so early. Cool, tell me about the results ok? Make sure you test the CPU temp before and after you applied the heat sink ok?

Just got my hands on the fans..But how does the rubber thing is used for?I cant seem to fit them into the fans..lol..any picture will be perfect..
*
The rubber is fitted just inside the outer most fin notch. Look at the manual, it is clearly shown there.

Now orthosing my 4200+ at 2.6 Ghz. In aircon room at 27'c, the core temp is 47/51'c.

If I switch off aircon, will jump up to 52/56'c......

What would you all say is a safe max CPU temp. My TDP max is 65'c, so should I push to almost that temperature or lower e.g. 60 'c.....

woow...nice result there  thumbup.gif

2.6GHz @ what vcore? mine prime 2.5GHz @ 1.328v, temp 48'c/58-60'c  sweat.gif
*
Errrr.... 48'c at idle? That's not correct....

This is my setup (temperature depending on ambient temp):

Idle : 30-34'c
Orthos (both cores) @ 2.7 Ghz: 54'c (currently) (range 51-56'c)
Vcore : Stock (CPU-Z shows 1.32v sometimes, 1.34v sometimes)

Polaris also had an idle core temp of 50'c. Dunno what's wrong. Did you reset the bios?

QUOTE(gsan @ May 14 2007, 11:27 AM)
well, let me explain something...

before using NH-U12F, I was used Ninja on Opteron 146.

when getting the NH-U12F, at the same time I got myself X2 3800+ E4 (not that one from elhh82's bulk), when prime the proc, I got something temp. diff. both core around 8-10'c but for idle, the temp. diff. both core are indentical, 36'c/38'c. I re-install the HSF and same result obtained.

after getting X2 3800+ E6 from elhh82, I moved the E4 to my another amd rig, and run it together with thermalright xp90c. this time the emp. diff. both core is with 4-6'c which is normal for most X2 proc. this prove that the proc is normal.

okay, then I install the x2 3800+ E6 with the NH-U12F, under idle condition, the temp. diff. both core at least 9'c or higher. while priming, it can go up to 12'c temp. diff. both core. I removed it and installed again for 2 time, the result was same.  sweat.gif

p/s: I tried the hsf in both vertical and horizontal location, same result was obtained and noticed that vertical give rise to the PWM temp.
*
That's a bit funny. I wonder how the core temperature are read. Could it be because of your mobo reading the wrong temperature?

Anyway, saw your sig. 3800+ @ 2.7 Ghz!!! Cool! Is it stable? Vcore from CPU-Z?
