still got extra NC-U6 ? thinking get one for my another amd setup... hmm.gif

btw, no doubt with the performance of this chipset heatsink, now 36'c during prime compare to vc-rf which is 41'c thumbup.gif

cant compare the performance of NH-U12 with the ninja/xp90c that I used previously since changed proc to X2 3800+ already blush.gif

The rubber is fitted just inside the outer most fin notch. Look at the manual, it is clearly shown there.

Now orthosing my 4200+ at 2.6 Ghz. In aircon room at 27'c, the core temp is 47/51'c.

If I switch off aircon, will jump up to 52/56'c......

What would you all say is a safe max CPU temp. My TDP max is 65'c, so should I push to almost that temperature or lower e.g. 60 'c.....
*
woow...nice result there thumbup.gif

2.6GHz @ what vcore? mine prime 2.5GHz @ 1.328v, temp 48'c/58-60'c sweat.gif

Errrr....  48'c at idle? That's not correct....

This is my setup (temperature depending on ambient temp):

Idle : 30-34'c
Orthos (both cores) @ 2.7 Ghz: 54'c (currently) (range 51-56'c)
Vcore : Stock (CPU-Z shows 1.32v sometimes, 1.34v sometimes)

Polaris also had an idle core temp of 50'c. Dunno what's wrong. Did you reset the bios?
*
well, let me explain something...

before using NH-U12F, I was used Ninja on Opteron 146.

when getting the NH-U12F, at the same time I got myself X2 3800+ E4 (not that one from elhh82's bulk), when prime the proc, I got something temp. diff. both core around 8-10'c but for idle, the temp. diff. both core are indentical, 36'c/38'c. I re-install the HSF and same result obtained.

after getting X2 3800+ E6 from elhh82, I moved the E4 to my another amd rig, and run it together with thermalright xp90c. this time the emp. diff. both core is with 4-6'c which is normal for most X2 proc. this prove that the proc is normal.

okay, then I install the x2 3800+ E6 with the NH-U12F, under idle condition, the temp. diff. both core at least 9'c or higher. while priming, it can go up to 12'c temp. diff. both core. I removed it and installed again for 2 time, the result was same. sweat.gif

p/s: I tried the hsf in both vertical and horizontal location, same result was obtained and noticed that vertical give rise to the PWM temp.

That's a bit funny. I wonder how the core temperature are read. Could it be because of your mobo reading the wrong temperature?

Anyway, saw your sig. 3800+ @ 2.7 Ghz!!! Cool! Is it stable? Vcore from CPU-Z?
*
no, it cant be the mobo reading wrong temperature since both of my amd rig are based the same mobo with the same bios.

still orthos'ing... laugh.gif 1.36v in bios and 1.344v in cpu-z wheread 1.34 in SmartGuardian. as you noticed, the temp. diff. between both core are 12'c. btw, the room temp. is around 31.7'c
