Madvr > artifact removal > banding set to low and medium or medium and medium, depending on the amount of GPU resource you have. I do not have any banding issue with Ready Player One, what is your source?

You can't just put 780 nits because someone who reviewed their display measured 780. Variance in different panels means different peak brightness. Also, peak brightness will drop over time (after 2000+ hours of usage). As for Nvidia settings, not sure why you'd want to use 10bit when 8bit is actually, believe it or not in MadVR's case - better. Set it to RGB and 8bit.

This is the best guide for madvr settings so far - https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=259188

My source is 4k hdr x265 blu rap rip. I see no issue using tv player also, only mpc-hc with madvr.

I tot all the hdr video is 10bit.. and more bit more color no? Later i try set 8bit and see. I tried the artifact removal but too taxing on the gpu than smooth motion lol.

Seng's extra 1 year is not by LG factory, right? More of by insurance company.

I presume the extra 2 years you purchase is also not LG's warranty?
*
senq guy say their extended warranty is same like LG warranty so no issue.

That sounded correct.  Insurance warranty is not likely to be as good as LG's. Have anyone got any experience claiming from these sort of insurance before? You take it back to Senq or what?
*
Insurance company or not it is still under Senq. Anything just bring back to senq they settle for u. The coverage is the same term&c as ur lg warranty.

I am sure there are differences but I just don't know what they are.

As for bringing it back, don't think I like carrying a big TV across town.
*
Bro, so u think LG warranty they will come to ur house to collect/troubleshoot ur TV?

Senq is widely available nationwide. Senq agent told me if the tv got problem just bring back to any Senq branch, their warranty all is digitalized, u dont even need to keep a copy.

if u so sure then u can just dont buy from senq. so far i have no problem with senq warranty, they very good at honoring them. they provide assurance that for their extra 1 year warranty, they not send to cikai shop to service, all they send to authorized service centre of each brand.

I don't see how it's much of a downgrade? Peak brightness is still 680-710 nits, which is similar to the C9.

Sure the 40gbps ports sounds like a bummer, but it's really not a big deal.
*
saw those comments in reddit, and ppl are grabbing up C9 since it is much cheaper now. Rtings review actually show that the brightness is lower in terms of number. ppl tends to be anal-ytical when it comes to number.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ May 28 2020, 06:38 PM)
That's the reason why I don't like rtings and their reviews because it breeds stupidity. Their reviews are also somewhat flawed.

Based off rtings review, it's 855 cd/m² on the C9 and 799 cd/m² on the CX on a 2% window. That's a difference of 56, on a TWO PERCENT window! Most people don't realize how small a 2% window is. Now you look at the more realistic 10% window and the difference is only 32 nits.... get the drift here?

You need more than 100 nits to tell a significant difference in brightness. The people talking about it are the people who has zero knowledge about how brightness is perceived. I'm willing to bet a whole 77" CX that even if the difference between them is only 10 nits, people will still say the CX is a downgrade in that manner.
*
ok boss, but maybe they dont see much diff and both TV actually looks the same but c9 is more of a bargain for now.

QUOTE(arslow @ May 28 2020, 10:53 PM)
Agreed Ben, and to actually determine that CX has slower brightness than C9 would need a much bigger sample size than what’s available now.

We can’t really compare one or two units to make a conclusion that CX brightness is lower than C9.

I’m willing to bet across a larger sample size that the brightness are pretty much the same....why would it be lower when it’s the same panel lol.

Av1 codec on the CX would make the TV more future proof too if you make use of the apps on WebOS.

I’m sure Netflix would soon turn to AV1 from HEVC for supported systems and CX was will be able to take advantage of it.
*
Even they support AV1, but they will still be using HEVC codec right?

I doubt most people will get it calibrated. Most will just use it out of the box.
*
if live in big city can easily find calibrator. but in like sarawak, very few ppl do that.

but i would really pay to get my unit calibrated.

I PM'd sifu ssjben about this part. Waiting for his reply.

What I observe is that my B9 does change color gamut automatically depending it is SDR or HDR content. I double confirm this because when I bring up the on-screen menu of my receiver, the screen will flash black for a second to change back to BT709 because the receiver's menu is SDR.

sifu ssjben kena banned 30days i think

I understood what you mean. I think I didn't word my post properly, my mistake. What I meant to say was if I change the color gamut option when a test pattern is on screen, it clearly shows a change in color value immediately. This is for SDR only. In HDR, this doesn't happen because I think the content is already using WCG so TV is locked to "Wide" either way, even if you select Auto or Extended.
Oh no wonder don't see him post anymore. Wonder why he get ban.

Got some argument with someone and he asked for it lol.

Good news for c9 user.

Some folks tested hdmi2.1 using rtx 3080 and it's fully functional.

Bad news is LG haven't find a fix for lifted black on GSYNC yet. Not sure if it will be the same for VRR as well 😔
*
do you need like hdmi 2.1 cable?

Ah I understand your fee question now. To make it clear, you only need to pay ONCE for Calman home, UNLESS of course you are changing a new model every year. For example if you buy a CX this year and you buy Calman Home for LG with the version that supports the CX, you only need to pay for it once to use it forever with your CX. Now if you decide to buy next year's CXI, then you WILL have to pay for an upgrade fee to support next year's version.

I'm not exactly sure how displaycal upload LUTs onto LG TVs. I haven't used it with any OLEDs so I can't say for sure how to do it.

Yes you can just factory reset the TV to go back to LG's standard LUT.
Why you want 55" to be replaced? No problem but go find problem?  rclxub.gif
Glad it's solved for you.

worried if it is design problem.. then big size or small size also same design, then yet to find out 55inch got problem.
