Yes , they use the exact same panel , only difference is the stand.
Unfortunately this is not going to be the same case for this year's B8 . The upcoming B8 will use a less advanced a7 processor , compare to the C8 's a9 .
I expect the B8 to be more affordable , but some minor drop in picture quality without some of the more advanced ( but not too useful ) feature found in the C8 / E8 / W8

A friend of mine is selling C7 65 for 10K less than 3 months old. He is leaving the country for good. TV is in good condition.

I read differences between C7 and C8. C8 65 can get for 15K now.

I was nevering looking for this size Oled but now undecided.

I play PS4 Pro games and movies. Is it worth buying C7 or buy C8 after price drop?

same thing when B6 to C7. the rting said not much different. thus better get a b6 than getting a c8. LOL

There is no problem with the C7 and its still under warranty. But seeing the other comment that C7 is not good for HDR gaming due to the firmware update (holds true on some feedback in google) is putting me off. My friend doens't play games and so might need to take my PS4 PRO to test it in his TV.

Now my best location for a TV is a good 10 feet away and the sofa is behind a window with ample sunshine. TV screen will have direct sunshine. This is addressed by your comment earlier as this TV will still be good.
I tested 10 feet on the 65 inch TV and they look great on 4K content. Infact for 4K content you can sit even closer to TV.

But not sure whether I should go for a new C8 55 inch instead rather than 65 inch (C7 or C8) for my 10 feet. Since C7/ C8 is bezel-less 55 inch and 65 inch doens't look that big.

Anyone using 65 inch C7/ C8 from 10 feet or little less and which content has lot of noise in the picture. My family watch some SD channels and may be they get upscaled but not sure how good it will be. I cannot test all this at my friends TV.

Get the 65 inches if possible , it is a little brighter than the 55 inches . Especially after calibration .

Normally I wouldn't care too much about a little brightness , but with Oled you will want every bit of brightness you can get because once the ABL starts to kick in , a lot of games and sport shows look really dark in comparison , even if the situation has improved from last year's model.
And the 5% gray uniformity is also a more severe issue on the 55 inches , which can be quite distracting

But the OLED screens have had this problem for a while ago , the near black uniformity particularly 3 or 5% have always been pretty bad.

Back then it was just stripes and vertical lines , but it has been getting severe . Something like this .



I have exchanged my 55 inches B7 twice because of this . The first one had a big patch of blackness botched at the center of the screen , the second exchanged one had the same problem but the dark spots were moved to corners . I have called LG but they don't think it is a defect either luckily HLK was nice enough to exchange it . I eventually give up and settled with the second one since the one I saw in their shop have similar problems .
I know at least 3 others owner who have experienced this , our 65 inches seem to be fine with just lines and stripes but nothing as bad as a patch of darkness so far.
I have seen the same thing happening on avforums, unfortunately this problem seems to be not so prominent among the reviewers since many of them use a bigger screen as review models. Rting 's review of 55 inches C8 briefly mentioned this as well in their gray uniformity test but they don't think it is too bad. Steve Withers reviewed a 65 inches and found no problems with it .

This can be pretty distracting sometimes , such as Marco Polo where there are a lot of near black scenes .
They are nevertheless more of a nuisance than any major defects.

1) Any way to reduce the brightness of the subtitles?
2) The technicolor colour preset is kinda awesome but have to dial down the brightness a little bit? Also, what's the difference between OLED Light and brightness? Seems similar to me..

Guys found a promo 65" c8 RM9434, is that a bargain?
