Even with Windows XP home edition on Celeron M, mine can barely last an hour.

on xp, i used to be able to stretch it to 1 hour and 45 mins...depending on usage

just fyi, processor scaling with powernowd and cpufreq doesn;t work...

u get to reduce speed, but voltage is still the same, so no point sad.gif

DELL is selling their laptops with Ubuntu installed in it. I think this laptop would be the most stable one to run Ubuntu.

But only available at UK, France and Germany. *sigh*

Presario V3658TU here, so far so good, but be prepared to get your hands dirty configuring the graphics acceleration, as well as some WLAN options.

As soon as it evolves, Linux will have an optimization for laptops as we all know battery power in laptops drains really fast.

i think this is a great thread but the title need to be more focused.

IBM Thinkpad R60
Installed dual boot with Ubuntu and FC5. Just got the machine

1) Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty - Gnome desktop only
Wireless is fine. Can connect to 128bit WEP wireless AP.
Inconsistent connection to projector. Works sometimes at 1024 resolution, other times must reboot but get only 640 resolution.
Virtualisation with virtual box no problem
GLX gears gave the following: 4207 frames in 5.0 seconds = 841.366 FPS

2) Fedora Core 5 - Gnome desktop only
Wireless cant work!
Havent tested fully.

I am looking for an affordable wireless camera that can be controlled by Linux laptop. Please contact me if any. The ones I have been seeing is about RM900+

I have IBM Thinkpad R60. Works fine with ubuntu from 6.10 to 7.10. Works fine also with FC7 and Centos 5 except wireless problem in FC7 and Centos 5. Have to setup the wireless driver(ipw3945) manually: howto on installing wireless on fc7 and ibm r60

manufacturers don't directly support linux....yet.
thus using FOO linux can use any printer but cannot compare CMYK with windows/mac systems yet.
