tried the offline method as well

Offline install also failed? I also think you should try troubleshooting or do sfc /scannow

from your previous posts, you have a very slow internet right? if that's still the case, next time always use offline update. this means download the latest windows 10 1607 installation iso and do in-place upgrade. check the previous posts by stasio for links to official isos, or use mct to create one.

now, as alternative, you can try use the .esd file downloaded from windows update (it's either in c:\esd, c:\Windows.~BT\Sources, or c:\Windows.~WS\Sources), then follow the steps here to make iso with it, then a bootable usb stick.

After updated to anniversary patch, I found that it took 12GB RAM usage out of total 16GB, is this normal?

very sorry i made a mistake. these folders are hidden and they're created during the process of making w10 iso file with media creation tool. i have no idea where the update file is located.

yes i think you can proceed. it's better to use offline upgrade (meaning get w10 1607 iso file, then run setup.exe in the iso to proceed)

My issue actually is that after the PC login, without chrome and games open, the utilization of RAM is 12GB, I think this is abnormal and ridiculous. Anyone have this issue or just me?

Abnormal. ~4GB utilize is about right for 64-bit.
You can check what ate up the memory by clicking "Open Resource Monitor" beneath that window.
In case of no task been listed, it might be some kind of memory leak bug from certain running application.
Might be a good idea to look up your start up applications (also under task manager > Start-Up)

Found the Avast antivirus is the second higher of the RAM usage, after uninstall the software now the utilization back to normal which is about 17% without game open.
so far after anniversary patch, i had reinstall Xunlei again after the patch as unable to complete any bt download.
i think some software will be corrupted after the patch.

you can try c:\windows\software distribution\downloads, or google it, or wait for someone who knows to shed some light on this.

for those with slow internet, just don't do 1607 update via windows updates. it's a waste of time because the outcome might not be as good. downloading windows 10 iso and run setup.exe to upgrade is a better option because you can use it for future clean installs also. the same applies to cumulative updates that are big in file size. find out the offline package and use it.

the update is pushed according to ms schedule. will take time to reach some of us. if you're impatient you can always run offline update with new w10 iso.
