No idea is it due to I downloading windows update
I already install intel & nvidia graphic driver, later try again smile.gif

Hm weird yeah maybe it's because of wu, or it mght be something else, because i have tested a laptop and a desktop, a freshly installed 1607 only had some sort of lags before drivers were installed, not after. Now both work normally.

can why not
you got 3 option to update

1. the one you mention

2. use windows update (but it seems you didn't find any update)

3. download media creation tool in order to download windows 10 ISO (can use to clean install in future as well)

IMO 3rd option is the best choice especially when got multiple devices need to update biggrin.gif

Yeah but it's fine i already got esds that i need. However I forgot to put ei.cfg to lemme choose w10 pro just now so i ended up installing w10 home (automatically activated with key embedded in bios) the good news is that everything went very well smile.gif
Ok sorry.

1. Ramdisk is a ram-based virtual drive created with software, like softperfect ramdisk. You install the software and create a ramdisk based on your needs, then move your web browser cache folders to it.

2. 'win+r' means pressing windows key and r key at the same time. It will bring up the run dialogue.

I keep on giving Windows 10 a chance but every time it frustrates me. I can't even access to my website for the last one hour and I found out it is because the PC is updating at the background. The updating is taking up so much capacity that I cannot access the Internet website. It is updating so many items. And I am not able to stop it from auto updates. I am switching back to win 7. I have to use my smartphone to post this message. Windows 10 really idiot!!

you can stop by doing this
start > cmd (run as admin) > type "net stop wuauserv" and "net stop bits" (type without quotes "")
else before you sleep just let it update, good luck smile.gif

Oh too bad. Nvm just use whatever you are comfortable.

As for the background updates, i think it's something else, because the cumulative update to reach 14393.10 is just below 50MB. Note that apps that run in background are a lot in the new w10. I disable all of them.

If you are using wifi, you can set up windows updates so that it's not carried out on metered connections.

Thanks for both your replies. I guess win 10 is too mind boggling for me. Too advanced. How would a person like me (who has limited computer knowledge) know how to stop those auto updates? I have important stuff I needed to do. I tried to stop the updates but there is no button to stop it, also the updates are so damn slow. And I can't access any other webpage in the meantime. Those people at Microsoft should make their operating systems easier and more user friendly to non-computer savvy people. It is frustrating.

understood. i really suggest you move on and stick to what makes you more comfortable.

i do suspect your problems are related to internet bandwidth, but imo an os shouldn't depend on such things to behave nicely.

So you downloaded the update and pressed restart to update button right?

If yes then it will take some time for the black screen to go away, the system is doing some background stuffs during the black screen and it will boot into Windows after it is done.

I updated 2 PCs yesterday, the black screen stayed for 5 minutes on a PC with SSD and 30 minutes+ on a PC without SSD.

So just chill and take a coffee while waiting for the update to be done.
