How have I not see this thread before. Hello! I only recently started making coffee at home, I have a Gemilai CRM3605 and a Fellow Opus Grinder at home. Recently I'm having issue with getting my puck pressure up to 9bar, water starts flowing around 4 or 5 bar only. Making my grinds finer causes even faster flow. Any sifu here got any idea why?

How old/fresh are your beans? If the grind size is right and the beans are fresh, it's likely the pump, OPV or water lines (scale). Go by elimination.

Holy thread revival by you. lol.
One of my fav gear for coffee.. is this double walled glass. Keeps the beverage hotter longer, but not hot to hold.

Complete noob here but what's an OPV?

My double walled glass too small, I need to get a bigger one. Recently tried making iced americano but substitute the plain water with Schweppes Ginger Ale, good stuffs

More reasons to buy more glasses! I got glasses from espresso and all the way up to 750ml thermos for on the go. Just ordered a smaller French press yesterday. Just finding more excuses to buy more gear lol.

Is it easy to use? You have to buy a separate grinder right?

I also need to look for a place to service my machine, the steam wand is leaking and dripping water when the machine is turned on.

I think usually coffee machines are quite standard, once you learn the basics. The machine itself is quite basic, decent enough to do a cuppa for its price.
But I believe its discontinued, newer models to replace it.

Yes you'll need a separate grinder, you can invest in a good hand grinder first before splurging on the expensive electric grinder. Or just buy off shelf ground coffee sweat.gif

i pulled trigger for a outin nano portable espresso machine for nespresso use. so far so good, very portable and easy to use just that the water reservoir is abit small, can put max 80ml water but just nice for lungo. not really into coffee yet but at least this is better than nescafe at office pantry.

Been meaning to ask.

Everyone knows bean shipper right?

When order from them the coffee packet valve is always sealed with a sticker

I thought it suppose to help degass the coffee.

Is it better to leave the sticker on or peel it out?

Had this coffee in Bangkok, at Everings near Pratunam
Using their inhouse blend.
The only specialty cafe I saw in the market, a few of the cafes have closed.

Taste like my Arcaffe Margo Coffee Bean i order cheap from Singapore, lose out to the Le Piantagioni 100 blend.

The only ones that taste better is at Siam Paragon, even so, not as good as i expect.

Yes, it actually has 2 PID, one measuring the boiler temp (which is common for most HX with PID) BUT another one measuring the water exiting the group head, which is an innovation. This measurement allows the controller to adjust the group head temperature to one of the 3 settings you choose (behind the drip tray)

Setting 0: 91-92 C
Setting 1: 93-94 C
Setting 2: 95-96 C

The reason why you might not "see" the PID is because most people think that PID means the temperature display, but it really means the probe that detects the temperature and feed that data to the controller. For Mara X, you choose your target group head temperature using the 3 settings above. Other traditional HX with PID, even though you can specifically choose - say 94C, you still need to flush and surf because a single boiler simply cannot achieve accurate group head temp with the old tech.

I got it for around 6900 from J Coffee Equipment (now out of stock though). Other retailers below might still have:
- KF Chan from MyEspresso https://www.myespresso.my/contact-us
- https://thecoffeexperts.my/

You can also look at Lelit Elizabeth, it's a very good dual boiler machine if you steam a lot and doesn't like HX. Super accurate temp and modern features.

hi bro, ya it has been running perfectly. welcoming its 4th year anniversary. I consistently maintain it and use proper water, so far there's zero issues. Temperature is still on point.

The only trivial stuff that I would like to have if I ever upgrade:
- Rotary pump (more silent and pleasant)
- Dual boiler (better temp stability if make more than 3 shots back to back. I don't need now cuz I only make 1-2 cups in one go)
