My new grinder with a new batch of beans...It's quite a messy grinder but allows better control of the grind size compared to the built in grinder on my bes870.

Well not really, I brought a second unit of oscar from cafe owner, i think the machine is around 2 years if im not mistaken when i tear open the unit, you can see the actual build of lime scale that prompt you to do decale immediately but the machine still going strong till today.
Yup, I saw some cafe owner dismantle their high end machine to do maintenance them selves... some even dismantle it and do mod with see through glass .... 

Only way to fully descale oscar is by dismantle it (Earlier i did posted a few dismantle of oscar post) or you can tilt and descale through the steam wand.... which i think not that really effective....



How thick is the cafe 2 yrs old oscar lime build up? 50% of pipe lumen covered?
I would say about 30-40%...not only pipe but also inside the boiler

why not try coffee lane ? At least they mention dates on the beans and you can judge how fresh the beans.... Price wise almost the same as the rest of the cafe are selling....How long you will be in penang ? I had a contact that can get really cheap beans in penang but not sure if he travel to island because he is in the mainland... all you need to do is to wait for 1 days and you get fresh roast beans
