for that prices u should use air d ..... rm 1907 for device. < rmb 350 for air shipping
It is individual preference. I like sea freight, cheap & no sensitive item charge, no GST, good past experience purchase electronic products & furnitures. Was told by agent sea freight safer. Courier ppl usually throw the parcel when handling it at warehouse.
i have been making 2 shot every morning with double basket portafilter. i make one shot into latte & discard the other one short. wonder does anyone doing the same thing like me with their oscar. i only need single shot, but believe that single shot portafilter may affect the quality of shot >< i use fresh espresso blend rm 60/500g. Lately placed order for 500g lebistro coffee. How to follow up the order? How long it takes to deliver?
Not worth it. It is toy machine. It is my first machine. I got one brand new set initial bought as a gift for my bro, but he had no interest in coffee. If u wan i can let go at rm 180.
I was planing to tear apart the Oscar and do the dip on the descale until i find this.
Although it is not recommended as some chuck of scale lime might fall off and block the hole path on the water dispense area or steam area but at least it did the job of descaling it as i i see some light blue colour water coming out of the machine. Previously I try to ask some professional shop if they did do maintenance on the unit and also charging price but they cant seem to bother or want to response to it because it is a home machine not those commercial type ones.
So i took the matter into my own hands and do maintenance myself. Talking about got money to give but don want to do business.
I hv intention to get descale maintenance once in few years at the beginning of owning this machine. After did some googling, someone mention that our country water is quite soft. Using filtered water the scaling process will be very slow. Worry too much. Then i change my mind & plan to let it be. Use until it broke down & got reason to upgrade to other fancy machine. Haha. My oscar is one year old this month xD
Anyone have old kittle or experience overhaul their espresso machine? Plz check & share is the scaling bad?

Hey, can anyone explain how Auresso works? Is the "3 bags monthly" subscription a bag a month or 3 bags at one go? And is there shipping fees?
There is note u can leave there what choice of coffee bean origin u want in the order process. U can make note option of 2 weeksly or monthly bean delivery. I used to regular purchase coffee bean from this website. But i cant get good crema from the bean bought there.
My current source of daily coffee is sumatra origin 500g/rm36 from http://www.lebistrocoffee.com, urban cafe espresso blend 500g/rm60, merdeka coffee mayb 250g/rm30 if not mistake from antipodean.
If you get serious into roasting later on, you will outgrow this machine very quickly. You don't really get to train your skills without the ability to read bean temps and adjust airflow/roation to build a profile. There's alot of other limitations to go through too but again that's comparing to a >10k machine which is unfair
If you're looking for a machine just to learn the fundamentals of coffee roasting, z popcorn popper machine is good enough. I picked one up for RM60 when first started. If you don't mind covering postage or buy me a cup of coffee when you're around, I can passover the machine to you for no cost. I've even added a dimmer mod to allow some small temp control
You can look into a Hottop or Huky 500 if you want something closer to commercial machines
U r staying in penang right? Can visit u to see how u roast ur bean? Haha. Hope that wont get poison
So what's the topic on Oscar you want to chat ? I find many ppl are very rare to mod their machine.
As usual like wat car club did, the opening thread post. xD Oscar intro, price, where to buy, version, spec, pro & con, best pull technique, modfication, descale, recommendation, user list.. Haha. Dont take my words too serious

This is how these packages looks like, vacuumed. Turns out to be 22 small packages. To me i feel like not environment friendly. Seeing those packages make me feel like im coffee snob. Haha
do they sell online? and the cost for each packet?
U can request any weight of packages. The price for beans is Rm15/100gram before roast. May lost up to 20% weight after roast. If buy 500gram above rm13/100gram. The one i bought is 500gram b4 roast rm65, 5 different origin. There r wide range of beans. We experience short free cupping session with two other visitors. Sumatra & papua new guinea pea berry. Served pour over & french press.
They provide online purchase, but im not sure online can request multiple small vacuum packages not. Should be rm 10 delivery fees. http://www.easybrew.com.my
They r the links that i found @ google for reference:
Wah!! Nice machine there!! any grinders? Attractive price for that "mazzer" from taobao!! wonder is it genuine? sorry I'm just alil paranoid on taobao!! how long have u had it and how many KG have you gone through it? Consistency?
I did survey & see taobao review b4 decide to buy. Consistant price all taobao seller. This is manual model. Cheaper than timer model. UK is selling around rm2k b4 GST, so i believe should be genuine. Taobao competative, always found item price near supplier price, low profit margin.
Weight 15.7kg. I use sea freight, took 3 weeks to arrive. 0.1 meter cubic, rm 50 shipping fees. No GST or custom tax item from taobao.
There is numbers of other mazzer seller around RMB 2999 for manual model. Electronic doser model also available at rmb 4800. The time i bought currency RM 1 = RMB 1.65.
U need to be able read chinese & better to hv previous experience bought thing from taobao, or have good fren to consult, coz there is still certain risk. I always use sea freight to ship big items, but take 3 weeks to arrive. Air freight can be very very expensive coz it is based on weight & volume rules. U need logistic agent to ship thing. The direct shipping from taobao official air freight will cost alot & process can be complicated if dont understand the proper method. Need to consider 3% charges if use credit card. I use hongleong wise card, 10% cash rebate, so i dint count that charges into my rm 1880. Only wise card consider taobao as groceries, all the other cards dont consider taobao groceries group.
According to the website b4 their uk tax is 345.83 pound, around rm2k. Thats the reason makes me to decide to go for taobao, coz the price is realistic for a genuine mazzer. Sellers from taobao also consistently claim it is wholesale price coz they bought in big quantity. http://www.beanmachines.co.uk/278-p-mazzer...-manual-grinder

[quote=d33pbluez,May 31 2016, 11:31 AM] FYI...assuming you gonna use the doser...my own design doser mod...drops the ground straight down...looks crude but much easier than others you'll find online...and it works [attachmentid=6742036][attachmentid=6742035]

I did mine with paper cup on my MDF last time... Cut the paper cup bottom sharp end the form the mouthing of the doser opening....
Progress on my restoration.... You may not know how much limescale and those black stuff you have in your boiler until you take apart.

How often to descale? Any place to send espresso machine for service? How much the reasonable charges?
