Anyone have experience with the Bodum double wall glasses? They're rated pretty highly on Amazon but more than a few comments about how easily they break, which worries me.
*
I got few of this bodum glass. Love them. Get it cheap around rm5 each from taobao. I use them everyday. Not easily break.

Woah RM5? including shipping? Damn thats cheap even if it breaks! LOL

Can i have the link? Thanks
*
Rm5 is old price d, 1 year back. The cheapest is around rm7. Not include shipment fees to malaysia. I use sea freight, it is volumetric rate, consider negligible for small item. Cheap one doesnt come with boxes, consider factory rejected items due to unnotice small defect, unless ur eyes go very close to the glass. Original bodum printing at bottom. There is more expensive available come with ori box, price still way cheaper than local price

Wow interesting!! where you buy from? btw haven't tried magnolia milk....maybe should give it a go and see.. so far my best and favourite milk is still 1. farm house, 2. farm fresh, 3. pura.
*
I regularly source my milk from local F&N supplier past 1 year, coz it is nearby my house & slight cheaper & definitely taste more fresh coz less cold chain breaking in transport & fluctuating shelf temperature. I initial emailed F&N asking for source, this supplier replied me.

This barista milk is good, froth nicely & taste better than magnolia yellow fresh milk. Was told it is near farmhouse grade.
It doesnt hv those strong taste of farmhouse.
Everyone expection is different for latte, hard to give proper review

I'm used to buying magnolia fresh milk twin pack at RM 15. You mean there are cheaper options? Where do buy yours? Mine is from village grocer because they are always out of stock at Aeon.
Have you tried the Batista milk? Are these "Fresh" fresh milk?
I recall seeing this in Singapore, also from Magnolia, haven't tried them though. Let us know how it fares against the regular Magnolia fresh milk, cheers!

definitely taste more fresh than same brand in groceries store for magnolia fresh milk or farmhouse, coz i take it from F&N supplier, less cold chain breaking in transport & fluctuating shelf temperature.

F&N Barista milk i think not yet found in groceries store

I feel a weighing machine would do better job if you weigh out your beans

Share the results of using the tool

Mayb u misunderstand its function. I weight my bean & grind it. After fill up the portafilter, the ground amount is not reaching the lips. This thing will level & smoothen the surface even the ground is far away below the level of portafilter lips. It is call distribution tool by its inventor

It will take around one week time to receive this item from taobao

This is the original version that cost ~ rm561

Awesome thread! Just picked up this espresso interest few months back. Saving up like crazy for Rancilio Silvia and found out that our neighbor (SG) are selling the set (Rancilio Silvia Latest + Rancilio Rocky Grinder) at SGD1,350 - SGD1,600, which is way much cheaper than at Cuppa.

Just wondering has anyone ever successfully brought espresso machines from SG to Malaysia through airport or border? I'm talking about a new machine with no box, which can be considered as used machine la.. The kick is to lari from tax when landing in Malaysia. Heard the sales tax / import duties can go up to 30%

Not sure of the ridges on the OEMs but from the pictures they differ from OCD. The ones on the OCD basically distributes and cuts off the excess grinds according to the level you set it to (something like stockfleth's method) while the ridges on the OEM seems to only distribute.

It's an improvement for classic tamping.
*
OEM is distribution tool. It does not cut away the excess ground. I dont wan it to cut away the ground that i hv weight. This tool help me alot. The level of depth to distribute can adjust like the OCD

Single shot. If u adjust the distribution depth deeper i dont even need to tamp the ground. I can keep my tamper away d. Very happy with the even leveling and espresso pull. Result more crema n no channeling compare with my regular tamper. Real smart invention for consistant pull, no need skill or practise to get nice pull

Woah HUGE difference. one is single boiler and another is heat exchanger. it will be better if you let us know what type of coffee drinker you are. Espresso or milk base, if Both then get the oscar 2 but then again at both the price better go for oscar 2.  thumbup.gif

Search on mudah.com for some good deals too.

@Luvox Hmmm how do you find the build quality and also the fit? u using standard basket or ?? btw good price that does the job well!! thumbup.gif
*
That video is skilled barista review. U wont find this distribution tool useful if ur dosing is at the portafilter lid level, able to distribute the ground with finger, and ur tamping is consistant.
I use single shot basket, personal reason. This distribution tool useful for people like me want to hv consistant good cup of coffee & dont care about traditional skill 😉 Furthermore it only cost me rm 60 plus rm13 shipping fees together with my other stuff purchased from taobao

It fit well and good solid metal 511gram

Really? Of course the Sette has all the latest tech and looks cool, but I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the SJ.

It is cheaper than supper jolly. Super joly 2k. This one around 1.8k

Super jolly is commercial grade, can last longer, but there is some ground retain that need to manually remove with tip of spoon handle
