It is cheaper than supper jolly. Super joly 2k. This one around 1.8k

Super jolly is commercial grade, can last longer, but there is some ground retain that need to manually remove with tip of spoon handle

+1
For extra rm200 .... i would throw on the SJ rather then Sette..... biggrin.gif for robust used rclxms.gif

I disassembled weekly to clean burrs. No need to redial grind setting. The top burr doesn't move, the bottom move. Just unscrew and clean!
*
Awesome, Thanks for the advice because i saw 2 set of way in youtube about maintenance.... one with redial the grind setting while another non required to redial.... thumbsup.gif

hi, can recommend which milk from supermarket is best for making cappuccino or latte?
(e.g. Dutch Lady / Marigold)
*
It depend on ones preference..... Most nominated are Magnolia Fresh Milk (Yellow Box), Jura's Fresh Milk(Blue Box), Fresh Farm Fresh Milk (Orange Cap) or the Farm House Fresh Milk (Pink Box) ..... Worst performance are Dutch Lady Fresh Milk and HL Fresh Milk.... Rest are not that favourable

Magnolia is damn hard to get most of the time sold out!!  vmad.gif  farm house damn expensive  cry.gif Fresh Farm OK but dislike packaging (Plastic bottle)  shakehead.gif  HL damn its my worst experience because lazy to go out buy milk  puke.gif  but now I'm using good day fresh milk which i think its OK and comparable to magnolia and more widely available.

Have a fantastic Coffee Week!! Shout out to Beanshipper.com Black Friday Sales!!! thumbup.gif  rclxm9.gif
*
I do agree that magnolia is very hard to come by.... At times, They stock in a lot but, sometime you don get them at all in the supermarket which kind of frustrating... Try Pura's they are not bad at all....

QUOTE(tupai1113 @ Nov 25 2016, 06:54 PM)
thanks guys for the recommends, i do spot alot of cafes using Magnolia (yellow box) milk, so it must be quite good, will keep an eye out later when i visit AEON. Dutch lady i love the full cream on its own and i dislike HL anyways, haha...
*
Actually most cafe now used the barista milk from magnolia (Pink/ Black box) which cant be brought at any retail store but normal magnolia fresh milk (Yellow box) should be good enough for the substitute of the magnolia barista milk

QUOTE(Castreal @ Nov 26 2016, 05:15 PM)
I think you mean Pura... initially I preffered Pura, i believe it has more "fat" and the steamed milk are more foamy and tasty, but that was back when a twin pack cost RM 16. Shortly after that, most of the Pura milk went off the shelves, and stocks were really hard to come by... it was then that i switched to Magnolia Fresh Milk.
Pura milk then came back on the shelves with new packaging and a brand new RM18+ pack... glad I switched to Magnolia.
I usually get my Magnolias from Mydin Wholesale Hypermart at USJ, a pack of 2 goes for RM 13.80, cheapest I've seen so far.
*
Yea, Hahah, My typo errors, I mean Pura. Not for my location. Pura can be seen most of the time in supermarket ..... The one that really hard to get for me was the magnolia fresh milk (Yellow Box).

My favorite milk. Taste good, creamy, to drink it plain.
I always go to my nearest F&N supplier store to buy them
*
So many boxes, minium them until cirit birit....last time i buy 4 boxes minium until want to die already

QUOTE(Dan430 @ Nov 29 2016, 09:16 PM)
@d33 i did use pura before too but its as expensive as Farm house so magnolia or good day still good value!  icon_rolleyes.gif
Yeah, because pura is imported milk same as farm house while magnolia is local made milk.... Wait for the promo twin pack same like magnolia you can get cheap price from them but i quit using them sometime already ever since i found out magnolia is the best choice among all...

QUOTE(luvox @ Nov 29 2016, 09:58 PM)
Home use. Its expiry date 3 weeks plus. Able to finish them. I think only able to get magnolia barista milk from F&N suppliers. So far i hv never seen them sell at the grocery
*
Most "real" fresh milk will expire within a few weeks unlike dutch lady they take more then month to expire...hell who know what they put in there to prolong the milk life span....and it taste like crap after frothing them....

QUOTE(flowerhorn @ Nov 29 2016, 10:31 PM)
Where to find f&n supplier store? I normally go for farm fresh, farm house or pura. Prefer farm fresh coz it's cheaper but doesn't seem to be available all of the time.
*
It depend on the weeks of displaying, normally a milk distributor will pull out all the milk from all the supermarket one week before it expire.... so if you out of milk within the pull out week then your out of luck to find them.....have to delay like a week before they restock them back.... sometime it took them 2 weeks to restock the milk. It also depend on your supermarket if they will be the first to get the restock.... biggrin.gif

My new grinder with a new batch of beans...It's quite a messy grinder but allows better control of the grind size compared to the built in grinder on my bes870.

Btw if anyone want to share the Ona raspberry candy beans with me let me know. Roast date 5th December. The aroma is wonderful!

My Breville notifies me when it requires a "Cleaning Cycle", usually after around 200 shots.
So I usually only backflush it every 4-5 months (1-2 cups a day)  blush.gif
Should I be backflushing it more often?
*
Pretty much depend but if you happen to have a machine that able to notifies you then it is better to follow that because it is set by the manufacturer recommended standards for specifically on your machine. While those who don have, they got to do it manually depend on their suit of maintenance need

QUOTE(Dan430 @ Dec 22 2016, 10:11 PM)
yes bro you are right it depends on the beans (i don't go for dark roast, usually light or medium roast will not have that much oil) but don't do it too often la.. i think for home once a month is good enough i don't wanna spoil my machine from "over" washing!  rclxs0.gif

Do back flush with blind disk after every drink tho!!  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Hot water is no effectively clean those oil that drain through you solenoid valve that why they make cleaning agent for it. Well it depend for average user who make 2-3 cups everyday is a basic recommendation set by my seller of this machine. Of course i can choose it to have once a month or many be half a year once.... but necessity of remove the group head and wash the distributor plate and shower cap is a must....

its just a risk to do that. because sometimes huge chunk of lime scale could block the group head and cause unnecessary problems. I'm not talking about back flushing tho, more of a descaling the boilers that maybe inefficient due to calcium build up overtime, without hotwater wand its better not to descale. or be like D33 take em apart and descale it!  laugh.gif  rclxm9.gif
*
Disclaimer advice, Make sure you know where the parts goes after tear them apart and don't use force, God, i broke my steam pipe 3 times just to make the right adjustment doh.gif

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Jan 4 2017, 09:19 AM)
Flushing thru the group head bad?
Don't know the maintenance recommendations for the machine with no water wand. If that's the way to do it, is that harder than thru the water wand?
*
No Hot Water Wand ? Easy there is 2 thing you can do....Send to vendor to do it or just DIY if you had your free time on hand (Means Dismantle them completely for descale)

I dont think of doing descale for my oscar, coz our water is not that hard. So far my oscar 1.5 years old. I think the time my oscar malfunction, i may hv enuf money to upgrade d..

For penang ppl, ecc coffee bean is quite cheap. Rm30-39 range for 250g. Few origin of choice
*
Well not really, I brought a second unit of oscar from cafe owner, i think the machine is around 2 years if im not mistaken when i tear open the unit, you can see the actual build of lime scale that prompt you to do decale immediately but the machine still going strong till today.

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Jan 4 2017, 02:10 PM)
Wait I am finding such instructions on HB leh...
Even with water wand you can dismantle to do it really right

Yup, I saw some cafe owner dismantle their high end machine to do maintenance them selves... some even dismantle it and do mod with see through glass .... biggrin.gif

Only way to fully descale oscar is by dismantle it (Earlier i did posted a few dismantle of oscar post) or you can tilt and descale through the steam wand.... which i think not that really effective....

How thick is the cafe 2 yrs old oscar lime build up? 50% of pipe lumen covered?
I would say about 30-40%...not only pipe but also inside the boiler

30-40% is quite bad. 😳
After dismantle, how u clear them? Manually or with solution?

I used citric acid to give them some dipping for remove those hard lime scale and soften some, then later used brush to give them some nice scrub on the remaining lime scale then i dip them back baking soda to neutralize the acid. For those pipe i jam them in with some soft metal stick and some jet water treatment.... All the hard work sweat.gif
