The cost of insurance depends on your age, gender, occupation and whether you smoke or not. Also the higher the rider you take the more costly it is.

From what I get online

This Policy is extended to cover the Insured Person as within defined resulting from engaging in motorcycling, provided always that this extension does not apply to any Accidents arising out of motorcycle racing, pace-making, reliability trial or speed testing.

means if legal accident during motorcycling, can claim.. right?

Yes, of course. To be sure and to confirm, normally the policy you have will state what is the motorcycling clause.

But generally the clause should be similar for Personal Accident unless a company defines it diffirently.

So apparently if I am representing an insurance company I can't post suggestion on the insurance company I'm representing that members of the forum are asking for opinion but it's okay for people who don't represent an insurance company to post about an insurance company product benefit with the company name on it.

This is not even an attempt to solicit any business but to provide them insight of other insurance company providing such feature.

Mod please explain which regulation this falls under?

- Taken into another scenario that I am a Toyota car seller having a discussion and someone posted about Honda and wanted to know more about the feature in a discussion and I can't post about what Toyota has to offer in similarity to Honda? I'm not even asking him to buy anything.

That is not the point. This thread is about discussion and you're asking for an opinion. I'm simply pointing out other options available. Yet the post is deleted.

Forumer asked about people's opinion on certain xyz insurance plan, but you as AIA agent, instead of answering or giving opinion on the specific plan, you just post your own company plan.
This is not answering the question asked in the first place.

Just like people asked how A brand car performance, but you tell B car is an option.

It is not the like people asked for any recommendation in the first place.

We do not want this insurance thread which serve as informative place, becoming a place for vested people to spam on it.
We don't want post by vested party that keep on posting, A is a good, then tell other to click the link to find out,
While another forumer, posted B is a good option, by then, this thread will be spammed by many vested parties, and whole thread started to deteriorate into spam type of posting only.
This is not a place to advertise your plan in the first place.
Thank you.

While in the process, you lodged a report on the forumer who asking the opinion as spam after your post was gone.
This is abuse of report button already.
This is not the first time you are abusing report button, with some bad history lodging report to retaliate on certain forumers on disagreement in mortgage thread as well.

Summary, the post was deleted basically because of
1. It is not related to the question asked.
2. Posting other plan with link is also not related to question asked for opinion on the specific plan.
*
Unless I'm an insurance broker/website comparison company, I would love to post all insurance company website links in here as well that offers similar services that forumer might be asking for opinion but if I am specialise with only a company I don't see an issue posting things that I know that my company offers such. Are you supposing me to explain a product from company xyz which I have no idea/complete info on what I'm talking about to a member?

Im pretty sure other threads aside from insurance such as car talk, mobile phones talks about varied brands and comparison, if in between some members posted in Toyota Vios thread and then suddenly someone starts talking about comparing with Honda City and another person brings about Nissan Almera. I think such discussion is fair. Otherwise this wouldn't be a discussion which churns more information. But rather it will be quite boring discussion.

Just an example
Hi

I'm looking for a medical card, which company offers it?

What do you expect us to reply?
AIA, Great Eastern, Prudential, Allianz, HLA etc?

Next he replies
So which company is better?
Oh I don't know much about other company but I know AIA offers...

Bam I'm sure it'll be reported as advertising rather than being informative when we got no complete info on what other company might offer. And if we comment on other company product, we get criticised for being not well inform or misleading people with wrong or incorrect info.

If you're in our position, being a representative from different companies, how will you go about in such discussion?

Regards to the mortgage thread, have I not done reporting on the multi posters replying in 5 different post within 2 minutes the thread would be 500 pages by now. Disagreement happens but what I'm trying to make sure was that it wasn't being spammed. Do show me which post that I've abused the report button on the disagreement that I might take note of the mistake so that it won't be repeated

If people asked whether P is good or not, common sense tells us we are discussing about P.
If no idea about P, we don't give opinion, as simple as that.
But instead you give link to A (with vested interest), if this kind of situation appear in exam, we are pretty sure the answer will get zero mark, due to out of topic and unrelated.

As said, the question is not asking for recommendation.

There is nothing wrong to explain your represented company plan.
But informative posts should contain explanatory content to discuss about the plan specifically.
As I mentioned in the early post, your post was deleted because, forumer asked opinion about the P plan, but you just post A company plan, without any explanatory and potential with vested interest as you are A agent.

There is a fine line between merely posting with vested interest vs genuine informative post.
If you are comparing P plan with A plan by posting details like putting out a table to show A plan has more or less offer than P plan, or show which plan has more advantage etc, then it is good.

But merely putting up a link on your represent the company website is not a discussion already.

We need everyone cooperation to make this thread a informative one, we don't want the thread being ruined by vested interest.
Thank you.

I came across one insurance plan recently.
1) It covers 500k CI and 500k Life, says if diagnose with CI first 500k will be paid to the insurer, if upon death another 500k will go to beneficial plus returns, so total 1m+ if this scenario happen before 65yo.
2) premium 9k pa for 20 yrs , total paid RM180k
3) it will ends at 65yo and guaranteed return of RM210k.

So what do you all think? Worth to go ahead?
*
You'll have to first find out

1. Why 500k? Is it enough to cover all my liabilities? How much will it last for my next of kin?

2. Will I be able to afford for the premium?

3. Any insurance is a good policy but if you mismanaged then it's not a good policy that doesn't fit you. Make sure to get it analysed thoroughly

Hi all.

Last year my bf was approached by HSBC banker and he bought the ILP without having much knowledge on it.

Couple of weeks ago he showed me the statement and I was so shock. First, monthly charges are very high. Second, UT is not performing well, both funds are in loss.

So far he has put in close to RM4000, portfolio value is only 60% of what he has paid. He called customer service to clarify and he was told to hold the ILP for another 10 years in order to see the surplus instead of loss.

Today my boyfriend already has a traditional insurance. Is it still necessary to hold a ILP? We are considering to continue or to cancel the ILP, please advise what should be the factors of consideration?

Thanks Sifu.

Firstly banks normally offer pushed marketing which means they did t understand your need and ask you to signed up immediately over the phone without the chance to think whether you need it or not.

First you'll need to get a life planner to analyse what coverage you need at the moment.

Its good that you have insurance awareness on this. Mind you investment link policy is an alternative to traditional policy at a lower price but comes with risk that is the investment can lose money and also gain money depending in the investment portfolio

If you're getting an investment policy for savings or to generate high returns then I'm sorry to say it's not an ideal plan for you.

I have one question about medical insurance policy.
If i have kidney stone and already been  treated and all cleared 3 month ago.
Now I want to buy medical insurance, will if in future i diagnosed with the same kidney stone. Will insurance cover me?  Tq sifu
*
Hi

Most likely there will be exclusion on things related to the kidney. Aside from there, other health issues should proceed as standard.

I guess the market is pretty excited with term insurance which had existed in the market for decades which is now more marketable into the market. More advanced countries had implemented such mechanism and the agents still thrives.

There are countless things that people used to shout about, when general insurance had implemented to be available online, you don't see agents die off. Clients still prefer a personal touch to it. Probably just a small number of them goes directly via the online portals.

Insurance still needs the advise of professionally trained agents to guide and advise those who are in need to get the right coverage. I've stumbled upon so many people who don't know what they are buying and paid for it.

yes, agents will not dies off completely, and not all products are able to be marketed online, the number of agents might be cut down (especially those that make the name of agents bad, and leave those with good service to their clients), it won't be wipe completely. Agents are still necessary in insurance, it's quite impossible to be replaced completely by internet which serves as an alternative distribution.
*
The people need to estsblish these fact
1. Why didn't insurance engage directly with customers instead of going through agent all these while?
If it's for profit I'm sure the insurance company would've cut off agent model and just advertise the business themselves
2. Why create so much incentive for agents to engage with clients?
3. Why insurance agent still need to take licensing if they are no longer needed as part of the BNM upcoming plan?

I specifically told her i want to increase my medical card coverage but instead she go add on _____ on top of my medical which is an investment UNIT TRUST. so total i am spending 350rm (200+150) per month for something I did not want!

so pissed off right now.  I am not stating the company name because it is an agent issue.

So what do you want to do about it? Reduce? Change to the original plan you had in mind? Just tell your agent
