For the information i get, those Philips TV models feature Ambilight fully import from Belgium, not local made or China.

Does it still apply to current models? It could be made in Malaysia.

Wow... this thread is still alive and kicking.
Sometimes, it doesn't matter new or old. As long as the player you love still kicking and performing.
Hey guys... check out my Home Theater Section. I've added new pics for Epson TW700.

Hey! Hey!
Its nothing much. I don't spend on drinking, womanizing, buying nice clothes, driving nice cars... having fancy handphones... so... there you go. All my money is on my gadgets.
Its not expensive to set up. But I'd say the most difficult thing is to get a place to enjoy it.

He! He!... back to DVD players... tongue.gif

How about 47PFL7422 and 42PFL7422?

Thanks for the info. I didn't really know about this until you have shared this info with us. I mistakenly thought that they're either from China or Malaysia which is pretty common for other makes.

i'm a noob at this, but i do suggest toshiba as my uncle is using it. donno which model, but it writes there toshiba regza 1080p

two advantages:

1. the sound dinamika is superb, i luv the surround soundstage
2. u can clearly see via all angle. not like normal LCD.

2 cents.

Both.

It has both 480i/576i with the option to turn on progressive scan.

576i is for PAL sources.

apparently it is without HDMI cable but I intend to get the HDMI cable from sunauto.

you know any shops carrying it? Can't seem to find any in Penang. Most do not sell Sony players. I'll probably end up getting directly from sony online. Anyone knows if the Malaysian edition comes with optical output?

as far as i know 76 is using the mediatek chipset but no one seems to know what chipset 78h is using. but from the reviews by consumers in avforums, the 78h seems good and comparable with the 76. i cannot give any comment cause i do not own the 76 but i watched a few movies on it in my friend's house.

checked with Harvey Norman and SenQ and they confirmed that 78H's official launching will be in November thus 76H;s price will probably drop lower and there might be free gifts.
