QUOTE(rx330 @ Oct 5 2007, 10:07 AM) ur oppo is wat? just an upscaler? iman, wat if its the other way round? or ur mindset is to wait until one or another is fallen then only u go into it? say it is an if...it is a chicken an egg situation...either u take the leap or not...then know later whether ur leap has gotten far enough or not... Was tempted to grab Sony Bravia KLV-40V300A at 6999. Guys, Im very new to LCD Tv's and would like to know within this budget isit advisable to get Sony Bravia? I keep thinking that Full HD LCD's will somehow price drop significantly, but I think will not be so soon. So is the model I've chosen is good enuff or should I try Sharp Aquos or Sony Bravia KLV-40D300A @ RM 7499.. There will be a lot of research to be done.. If you can wait, try waiting till next year as Sony is famous for slashing their prices out of nowhere. Like previously, their Sony Bravia KLV-32V300A was priced at RM4,999 at launch but was slashed to RM3,999 after a few months. Of course, you can get it around RM3,700 outside. My advice, monitor the prices closely, if there's a sharp drop in the price, you can consider it and do compare the prices as it's still negotiable. Honestly, the D series will be better, with 3 HDMIs and the Motion Flow feature, comes in handy if you're into gaming as well.

Yeah.. thanks for d speedy reply, Im not in d hurry, so waiting shouldn't be a problem. Should I conside Sharp Aquos series as well? I'm planning to run some DVD's & Astro only, I plan to use my Samsung 226BW LCD for my PS2 (which Im not confirmed if it works). Basically the LCD will only be for home entertaintment. Bsides that those below RM 1K sound system, issit good enuff.. ? Wanted to view d sharp web page, but the server is down, so I got to wait again... Actually you can get a full hd 1080p lcd at that price already. The philips 42" 1080p is selling for RM6999 in Jusco and if you're in KL/PJ, you can get it for RM6030 at Legend LCD & HIFI in SS2. Sunauto have you seen this philips? What do you think of it, compared to Sharp, Sony or Samsung?

Anyone bought the Pioneer DV-400V-S? This dvd can upscale video up to 1080p. I just went to Desa Hometheater at LYP, and the salesman recommended me the dvd player and quoted price at RM699 including free HDMI cable. Anyone please give some review. Thanks in advance.
