QUOTE(neoardi @ Oct 9 2007, 11:19 PM) Anyone bought the Pioneer DV-400V-S? well it works for me? PQ looks the same as my old Philips DVD player (which was good to my non-AV eyes). Plays all my anime/series via the USB. no probs so far. no probs reading pirated discs either. This dvd can upscale video up to 1080p. I just went to Desa Hometheater at LYP, and the salesman recommended me the dvd player and quoted price at RM699 including free HDMI cable. Anyone please give some review. Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(vex @ Oct 9 2007, 11:50 PM) Must be either SenQ or Boon AV, rite? Well, better buy from outside shops ler, these places are a no no if you're paying by cash b'coz you can nego for a better price elsewhere but for paying by installment, these places will be the first choice lah b'coz they encourage you to pay by installments mah.QUOTE(neoardi @ Oct 10 2007, 01:44 PM) HDDVD very exp la, the Toshiba's RM2499 without 1080p output really no point Well, the PS3 doesn't play dvds that well, the PQ is not even better than any budget dvd players but its blu-ray performance is on par with some blu-ray players out there so I guess Sony neglected support for normal dvd movies. I guess you wouldn't wanna mess around with PS3 lens because a brand new lens is RM580 each and yes, got one joker damaged the lens already because he enjoyed playing movies in vertical position. And i'll buy HDDVD player if the price below 1k and support 1080p I ask this Pioneer because i hv many DVD collection and I don't wanna spoil my PS3's lens. |

QUOTE(rx330 @ Oct 11 2007, 01:07 PM) har???? sunauto u sure or not? wat do u mean the ps3 doesnt play dvds tat well? the PQ is better lar, its even better than some upsclaers Seriously PS3's dvd playback is no better than XBOX 360, you can check the review here, http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/cgi-bin/sho...on%203%20(HDMI) and there are other reviews from other sites too, just google around. brand new lens need rm 580 meh? miri bought for less than rm 200 incl shipping, stated as new IINM i must be a joker then? upright or lying doent effect the lense, i think i have seen more movies on the ps3 than play games, touch wood, but no problem yet The PS3 lens will spoil without warning. I have spoke to the joker who placed his PS3 in vertical position, he said he was watching 300 on dvd, then the next morning, it failed to read any discs including PS3 games. I guess that it's either the placement of the console or the lens of the PS3 is not reliable, which is mostly true for Sony's Playstation products, that explains why I bought a few PS1 and PS2 consoles, all of them suffered from lens problem whereas my PS3, it should be fine, there are not much games to play on it after all. Better don't take a risk to use it to watch movies when you have other better and cheaper alternatives. |

weird, my fren tested the ps3 was actually better than his sammy upscaler
well, i think its not the placemnet, more to lense failure, but my past ps1 and 2 experience was good, no such issue is there a cheaper alternative to watcy blurays? |

That's normal for LCD tvs, the best position will be sitting straight 90 degrees facing the panel itself. Nothing to panic actually. |

The R and S series doesn't have a lot of significant difference. Only contrast ratio, HDMI inputs and viewing angle. Everytime you unplugged, the seeting is gone from what I understand.

QUOTE(Mini Nici @ Sep 16 2007, 12:09 PM) I just would like to share something will all the rest of other members regarding my experience with Toshiba Regza LCD TV. I purchased Toshiba 37" Regza 37A3000E LCD TV 2 months ago at RM4299 with 12 months instalment plan at Curve. I was amazed by the PQ at once and this salesman approached me telling me that in each shop there will be 2 brand new Toshiba LCD TVs selling RM1000 lower than market price for customers. 37A3000E was sold at RM5299 at that time. Therefore, without second thought I have purchased this item. It comes with 1 year full insured warranty and also 1 HDMI cable. I hope for those who plan to purchase a new Toshiba LCD tv; perhaps can ask the salesman with these units if they are still available. It is not a display set for sure as they open the seal in front of me. Just some sharing and hope it is beneficial for all of you! Just want to share my experience with my purchase from a well-known dealer which has been mentioned many times in this website. They delivered my LCD TV complete in plastic bag, box ...the works but what got me suspicious is that they told me that they do not have any unit in their store for mw to view it. However they confirmed they have a display set in their branch to view it. As I already decided to buy that particular model, I ordered it and was told that they can deliver it after they received it from the manufacturer earliest within 3 days. Next day, I passed by the branch, just to check out the other units but noticed that they they do not have the particular model on display anymore. When I called the HQ, they said they have received the unit I have ordered (despite that the manufacturer does not work over the weekend) and they can deliver it later in the day. It was on a Sunday!!!I got suspicious and called the manufacturer for the date of delivery to the outlet. Was told that the unit was delivered to the outlet more than 2 months ago!! This means that they gave me the showroom unit!! I confronted the salesman and they agreed to exchange the unit. I called the manufacturer again and they confirmed that the new unit was delivered to the outlet the day before. To all consumers, pls beware of these dealers disposing the display set for new sets |

It was on a Sunday!!! actually this is quite common, the important thing is you get a good product with proper warranty ... I got suspicious and called the manufacturer for the date of delivery to the outlet. Was told that the unit was delivered to the outlet more than 2 months ago!! I called the manufacturer again and they confirmed that the new unit was delivered to the outlet the day before. To all consumers, pls beware of these dealers disposing the display set for new sets for example, the unit may have stay in the factory for some time, then in the loading bay for another 2 months, then in the warehouse, then in the port, ship, then may go through a repack and retest exercises, then in the seller's main warehouse, then send to shop etc. whatever thing a consumer is getting it today may have gone through months of storing or re-store processes, the key thing is to make sure its is FULLy functioning and consumer right fully protected. in this case, u can ask for a replacement or an extra discount if it is a display unit. |

Sorry this maybe OT, not only TV's, but other display electrical appliances e.g. refrigerators, washing machine.. etc. This items are wiped clean by the salesman and delivered to the owners. I do not know why this ppl are so dishonest, but nobody likes to get things that are on display for sometime, IMHO is a common practice for them. So anybody have good ways to know if v are not getting display items?I got suspicious and called the manufacturer for the date of delivery to the outlet.
