sq other than hkg I dont see any other "cheap" yq unless you willing to ex Philippines and transit in Sin for other part of the world. Usually departing frimom changi cost sgd200 - 300 range.

I play around with JL mileage bank.

sin-hnd 2850 yen
nrt-gum 3640 yen
gum-nrt-hkg 3500 yen

quite resonable to me, you can sign up online and play with it.

Looks like to nrt/hnd, mh may still be a reasonable option, since no yq....

Others can consider sq and others...

Reasonable?

JL return 80k miles + RM 200 (789)

MH return 110k miles + RM173 (333)

more reason to ditch MH tongue.gif

note that these 787-9 from JL are brand new and come with their new business class product. Service from japanese cannot be worse than MH. lol

btw it's good you point this out, because from SIN its either 763 or 772. i will consider departing from KL then.

I only got 35% so am giving it a miss.

On a separate note, a FlyerTalk user came across details of an upcoming flash sale via the Hilton Sydney website. If it's accurate, we’ll be seeing 40% off prices for properties across Asia Pacific (other than China, HK & Macau) for stays up to 17 Apr 2017 when booking between 7-11 Nov 2016.

I have the 50%. Likely will be making the purchase.

For Hilton, there was a similar sales few months back, it was fantastic. Will be participating this round again. Hilton is having some serious competitive offers in promoting booking through apps, including triple points and 5000 points for paying with visa (per stay). Couple with the 40% sales, time to do some serious planning smile.gif

It will cost USD 525 for 30K points, with the 50% discount. Yes, it's 1 to 1 conversion to most airlines and they have a lot of partner airlines to transfer to 👍. For every 20K points conversion, u get an additional 25%, making it 25K miles. Can only buy maximum 30K points per calendar year per account for yourself , and/or gift to others. Example, You can buy 30K for yourself , and also gift to others at max 30K per account as well.

Still new to the MR travel package (includes flight and one week hotel stay) and apparently , this seems to be a very popular scheme that MR members have been partaking. Since u run the blog, maybe we can tap on your knowledge to analyze it and share your findings with us from local stand point on how we can leverage in our context. smile.gif

Btw, 1 starpoints converts to 3 MR points. There are just so many options that the starpoints can be put to good use. Therefore, I have purchased the max 30K.

Nice to accelerate your miles collection.

I just signed up 3 accounts and max i got was 35%.

I assumed that you managed to buy 60k starpoints at USD1,050 = 75k miles

10k miles = USD140 = SGD200

to think that i decided to waive my credit card annual fee of SGD 192 ( i get 10k miles for paying) is quite stupid then sad.gif

Yep, one way I looked at it was to compare the card annual fee in exchange for miles. I have always paid for the AF for miles. They are comparable for sure, with the 50% discount, which is the highest I have ever observed. And this accelerates my collection a few times faster. Yes, I purchased more by gifting to family members, some of which will be transferred back to me eventually. SPG allows free transfer between family of same household address. I have heard so many good things about JAL and will try to see how to make such redemption feasible because they are airline partner with SPG.

R u referring to altitude card that you forgo? If it's not too long ago, maybe can inquire if they could reinstate the points and charge u AF?

If u have WWMC, definitely that will be first choice if u have not exceeded monthly limit for x10 pts . If not, 2card premier would be next in line. You may have other better cards which I may have no access / knowledge of, though tongue.gif

DBS WWMC. There are two versions. Get the world MC version. Since u r existing DBS customer , this is a must have despite its sexist brand lol. And u can apply through ibanking. Very easy and efficient.

currently torn between the 10% more miles promotion with enrich, and kf's better product...

two questions...

1. does kf ever have promotion conversions like enrich?

2. i know enrich can redeem for 3rd party travellers....can this be done for kf too?....

1. I've not seen Krisflyer conversion promotion, they do have redemption promotions once in awhile

2. yes

And yes, Krisflyer fees tend to be much higher. In my limited experience:

- Asia Miles round trip to US at roughly HKD800-900 in fees
- Enrich one way (back in the day) to the US tend to be ~RM1.5k
- Krisflyer one way US is around S$500+

I only have experience going to the US with miles so I put that as a comparison.

Don't limit yourself to Asia Miles = Cathay Pacific. Use it on any other Oneworld airline and it opens up a lot more possibilities. I don't like calling them though...

well if you insist to go from KUL to oz, then it will be just MH. Is emirates flying into syd or mel through KUL? perhaps worth checking?

Singapore is slightly better, qantas still operate these route. I saw a BA flight for sin-melb the other day when I had a look at option.
