QUOTE(adele123 @ Nov 7 2022, 12:08 AM) SCB quite ok to waive annual fee in general cimb travel world elite vs Emirates HLB World EliteSlight correction. Salary requirement 100k a year. But to be honest, to maintain m2p and not pay annual fee, that 80k spend a year is not easily achieved by someone who earns 100k a year. So that would somehow create blocking. But some can still apply for first yet for fun. Cimb travel world elite. 250k a year. which 1 better? |

CIMB Travel World Elite is better for the first year in terms of Miles: Local Spend (MYR) ratio. After one year, The HLB World Elite is better. It is also possible to obtain the HLB World Elite by pledging RM 50k in FD, whereas CIMB World Elite is extremely selective. Nevertheless, I wonder if it is straightforward to redeem flights on Emirates. It is very easy to redeem and confirm flights with Enrich. Even Krisflyer operates a waiting list. QUOTE(mikewps @ Nov 11 2022, 03:23 PM) London, Zurich, Auckland, Paris.....basically all destinations. If book flight got first class tickets but redeem flight don't have, only got business class. if you are searching KUL to LHR, the system only show Eco & Biz class bcoz the first class ticket flying from KUL to SIN may not available. There are first class ticket from SIN to LHR, so you may need to book separately to fly from KUL to SIN with Biz/Eco and SIN to LHR with first class. This post has been edited by francis226: Nov 11 2022, 05:18 PM |

Furthermore, not all miles worth the same, and partial redemption is particularly worthless. KF and AM definitely worth a lot more vs Emirates miles for people based in KL. Nevertheless, for non-Amex MYR local swipe, CIMB TWE is still not bad with RM1 : 0.67 AM. |

QUOTE(Euler @ Nov 13 2022, 03:06 PM) How is HLB World Elite better with "RM4 = 1 Skywards Miles"? Hi, I think the biggest advantage with HLB World Elite comes from the annual bonus of 150k miles with RM 300k annual spend inclusive of government and JomPay. Heard some businessmen and businesswomen use personal card to pay for companies bills, insurance, etc.Furthermore, not all miles worth the same, and partial redemption is particularly worthless. KF and AM definitely worth a lot more vs Emirates miles for people based in KL. Nevertheless, for non-Amex MYR local swipe, CIMB TWE is still not bad with RM1 : 0.67 AM. Even though CIMB TWE offers RM 1 = 1 Mile in the year, this actually plays second fiddle to (less advantageous to) CIMB e credit card which offers RM 1 = 1.2 miles on the 28th of each month, subject to maximum RM 1667 spend per card. *Interestingly and very generously, CIMB's limit of 20k reward points per cardholder applies to each individual principal and supplementary card holders. It is the same as the cash rebate CIMB cards. For example, 1 E credit card and 3 supplementary cards (i.e. two parents and husband/wife), the family can spend RM 1667 x 4 per month and earn 2000 x 4 miles per month. Parents with the E cards can equally issue supplementary cards This post has been edited by jerantut2011: Nov 14 2022, 06:31 AM btslee liked this post

1 Enrich mile is worth RM 0.04165 officially when it is used to redeem a business class flight.
(One has to use enough miles to "pay" for the flight "in full"). The miles cannot be exchanged for cash and are always at risk of arbitrary inflation - when MAS adjusts the conversion rate. Therefore, when comparing the miles to actual cashback offered by other credit cards, 1 mile is probably worth 50% less than its official "value". Maybe ? 1 mile = RM 0.0208 Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(AteCerCiter @ Nov 14 2022, 08:02 AM) seriously, i rather redeem than pay.. i think 170k miles for rm7k tickets is good deal, unless you need to pay other fees more than rm2k There are a lot much better way I can do with 170k miles.e.g. SIA business class return Cape town, plus one way business to Istanbul / SIA one way business + one way first class to Australia |

(As per the attached table)
The Ringgit worth of Enrich miles is derived from CIMB Reward Points to Cashback rate. The CIMB WTE has an annual fee of RM 1,215.09 for existing cardmembers and new cardmembers after the 1st year waiver. In summary, the CIMB WTE offers the best miles conversion/effective cashback rate for local spend until the bonus rewards promotion ends on 31/12/2023. Thereafter, it still offers highly competitive miles conversion/effective cashback rate for All overseas spend and Airlines and Duty free stores. The RHB Premier Visa Infinite offers best mile conversion/effective cashback rate for All local spend in hotels, duty-free, dining, online spend. Whilst RHB VI offers 8X points for overseas spend at effective cashback rate = 3.33%, it is with the caveat that it also charges 2.01% foreign currency conversion fee on top of usually less favourable Visa International rate. Yet, the RHB VI Premier has no annual fee. When annual fee of CIMB WTE is taken into account, the RHB VI Premier is still the best card until annual overseas spend reaches a total of RM 102,108, above which the CIMB WTE will become more competitive. i.e. Spend RM 100k overseas, CIMB WTE: Cashback (2.5%) RM 2500 - 1,215.09 annual fee = RM 1,284.91 RHB VI Premier: Cashback (net 1.31%)= RM 1310 Spend RM 200k overseas (tuition fees, etc) CIMB WTE: Cashback (2.5%) RM 5000 - 1,215.09 annual fee = RM 3,784.91 RHB VI Premier: Cashback (net 1.31%) = RM 2620 This post has been edited by jerantut2011: Nov 15 2022, 06:01 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |
