cimb yes, they wanted a vacuum that has the same value of 27k Enrich Miles. I bought them the same vacuum (RM400) in exchange. and yes the CC was under my parents name but transfer to enrich under my name.
i am surprised they allow cross name conversion....maybank used to allow when they still run the online conversion programme....but now that is gone, they don't allow cross name conversion anymore...

I think there is no checking If u redeem online from cimb portal . Just need to key in your enrich account number.

yes, that was also the case when maybank had their online redemption website....but now, have to go through their call centre and they will only allow if into the same name enrich account...

sadly I have 100+k in Enrich, mostly from sign up bonus, redemption through parents (CIMB only convert to Enrich), fly with them or more recently flew with KLM/AF and I only have Enrich which is their partner. How I wish I can transfer these to SQ for my upcoming redemptions.

Some 30k with KF which are directly credited by AMEX

balance are in form of credit cards point
*
I have redeemed 200k+ enrich miles for 5 j and 1 y one way tickets to oz recently...that completes this year's travels....

Still have about 1 mil treats points which I can't decide which ffp to channel into.... wait and see for the moment...

All flights from Singapore difficult la. Means I need buy a ticket to sg to use the redeemflight

The miles needed are the same whether from spore or msia...and you can start your journey from the 4 airports sq/mi flies from, ie KUL, pen, KCH, bki....

i think there are always limitations in what an online booking can do, so for the more complex redemptions, you will need to call the cs...

but they have j class across all their aircrafts, including mi, so that should not be a problem....

So far everyone who's been active on this thread has been fine with the ongoing discussion with the exception of ONE person (masked?). I can safely say the majority/"the masses" here would benefit from posts regarding the more intricate and finer points of each FFP.  I'd say to draw the line at the three FFPs this card transfers to.

Fruitie - yes you may be right but your attitude remains much to be desired. Mods should hold themselves to higher standards as hye has demonstrated. There is no community and no knowledge without members. It's a two way street.
dctravels, spot on. Personally I find it rewarding and satisfying to finally 'nail' a particularly difficult award redemption. If you're in it for easy bookings, then maybe the miles game is not for you.

I'd like to share a redemption I did last week on KF. Another trick to employ is that you can coax the call center agents to apply a 15% discount and apply "free stopover" rule in SIN citing that particular booking can't be done online (which is almost every booking worth its while).

For those of us based out of KUL sometimes its a bit sian to have to route through SIN every single time, so I tried routing through another *A carrier to see if I could get away with this particular itinerary:

KUL-BKK (TG) <stopover 3 days> BKK-SIN (SQ) <stopover 3 days> SIN-KUL (SQ)

Normally this would be priced as a partner award redemption since there's involvement of TG, and would cost 40k (20k each way, i.e. KUL-BKK-KUL, can't have additional stopover in SIN even if on SQ). The phone agent was able to reduce the miles down to 35k and I was able to coax her to give me a "free stopover" in SIN since it is technically a return trip (normally +USD100). The downside is most flights between KUL-SIN is on MI, and even though their system shows it can be booked, it'll error out and you'd incur more fees and miles. So your only option is probably SQ106 (always full/WL) or SQ116.

As far as the experience goes, TG regional was acceptable at best (the "Thai hospitality" only comes out with angmohs), while SQ regional just blows it out of the water. I was underwhelmed by all the lounges (KUL TG, BKK SKL, SIN T2 SKL) though, especially in T2 Changi. I mean, it's supposed to be your flagship right?

Here's the itinerary in case anyone is interested. Possibly can use to generate similar redemptions involving other cities in the region.

hye did say discussions on issues related to which ffp to choose is allowed...

but you are pushing the envelope here....lol

discussions on such complex redemptions perhaps is best in the ffp thread....

but seriously, why are you doing the above redemption? to get a "free" holidays in bkk and sin?....lol

It's true, I don't think I can do long haul (>6 hours) in Y anymore sad.gif

But for short-med still ok. I'm really appreciative of carriers like airasia and what they're doing in the region, I just wish the passengers would behave better.

AA seats are bad...and anything longer than a couple of hrs is torture to my 6 foot frame....

Aax 330 seats are slightly better only....

Just did 8hrs BNE SIN on y and it was surprisingly comfortable....but it's a sunlight sq flight...

I think y long haul is still ok with the right airlines and aircrafts....

Btw, mods just deleted your posts in the maybank 2cp thread....

Looks like to nrt/hnd, mh may still be a reasonable option, since no yq....

Others can consider sq and others...

currently torn between the 10% more miles promotion with enrich, and kf's better product...

two questions...

1. does kf ever have promotion conversions like enrich?

2. i know enrich can redeem for 3rd party travellers....can this be done for kf too?....

1. I've not seen Krisflyer conversion promotion, they do have redemption promotions once in awhile

2. yes

And yes, Krisflyer fees tend to be much higher. In my limited experience:

- Asia Miles round trip to US at roughly HKD800-900 in fees
- Enrich one way (back in the day) to the US tend to be ~RM1.5k
- Krisflyer one way US is around S$500+
*
thanks...not looking into the states...so asia miles is not convenient...

i did a trial search with kf....kul-sin-bne in may 17...

y 42k plus rm1.6+....for ticket costing rm2.4k...

j 92k plus rm1.9....for ticket costing rm10k...

obviously only worth redeeming for j...the yq just too high for y....crazy...

Hi guys, I am thinking of buying a Priority Pass for my wife as we travel a lot. I noticed that there is a difference in pricing based on our location. E.g if I select location as Malaysia, the cost is USD249.00 for Standard Plus, but its GBP159.00 if I select UK based. There is a huge difference in cost here.

I have family in UK, and I can potentially use their address and utilise the card via their app. Anyone purchased Priority Pass before? How did you go about it?

*If this is the wrong forum, I apologize in advance!
*
use the maybank provided pp card for a couple of years before they cancelled the perk....it has a much wider range of lounges than ppl....and i have used it in munich, athens, ist, mad, kix, nrt, icn...as well as non-ppl lounges in sin...

the services is the same, irrespective of where you buy, so by all means pay in gbp.....i think the pricing was from before the brexit and trump shocks....

So...Kf also removed the 15% discount for online booking like enrich....

Better for those with lots of miles....

But not so good for most of us who don't get that many miles....

In the past, if you calculate discounted fares compared to yq you have to pay for redemption, you find it's not worth redeeming for y....I wonder by removing the yq, whether the equation will have changed....
