So, for the workaround, you'll have to get a Japanese Wii instead. Trust me, Nintendo regulars hate this.

there used to be a way called Freeloader, but it has been discontinued already. Nintendo does not allow such a thing to happen.

It's just not worth it getting another Wii just to play one or two Japanese-only games though

QUOTE(Kyoyagami @ Apr 13 2009, 11:49 PM) there used to be a way called Freeloader, but it has been discontinued already. Nintendo does not allow such a thing to happen. Not quite true.. You see what happened was Nintendo was apologizing to the import crowd for disabling GC's Freeloader on Wii with certain firmware upgrade and promised future upgrades won't cause such problem (regarding Freeloader). Few months later came Wii Freeloader and Nintendo kept quiet, and another couple more months Nintendo came out with another firmware to disable the latest Freeloader.. That's why I hate these hypocrites dumbass..So, for the workaround, you'll have to get a Japanese Wii instead. Trust me, Nintendo regulars hate this. |

I would say be careful with the game. If the game says that it needs to update the Wii, take it out. When inserting a game, the problem only lies with updating the firmware. Wrong firmware, then u can kiss the Wii bye bye.

Nope. not safe also. the game would automatically have the update, regardless of what ever version it is. that's why I opted a US Wii that's untouched inside.
No problem, glad to be of help. And i think its time this thread get another version. |

actually, all new games does need updated firmware. I remember my MadWorld needing one because I haven't updated my Wii in a long time.
How do things right, I am not allowed to disclose since its against the rules. |

There are a few things I'm confused.
How come some place they sell Japanese consoles but with US firmware? Is it possible? Can we run Japanese games on US consoles? Sorry if the questions have been repeated though. |

Actually no. Only through modification, then only you can. But modifying the Wii gives you big risks. So, it's your choice.

Eh eh, Malaysian ori exist. I'm selling it. And its not modded, so be careful there.
What I mean by Malaysian ori, is an Official Nintendo Wii sold in Malaysia by an official Malaysian distributor. |
