The HomeBrew Channel is a Channel on the Wii Menu that enables you to launch Homebrews,
and Gecko OS is a Home Brew program that runs on the wii.
Gecko OS has a number of abilities, such as Ocarina(Cheats ala Gameshark), bypasses disks updates with conditions, and of course Region Free. thumbup.gif

But it still doesn't enables you to play backups, so its not a tool to enable piracy.
Its a legitimate homebrew that enhances the Wii~! rclxm9.gif

That's a simple enough explanation, if you still don't get it... Google is there for you to find out more...  icon_rolleyes.gif

Hmmm... sounds like this homebrew thingy is what I'd want if I go to the UK for an extended period of time and want to bring my NTSC wii with me..... hope a subsequent update doesn't break the channel though...

Hey mods, any chance of creating a pinned thread/list of shops that offer DS/Wii repair services? Every once in a while, someone has a DS problem that they need repair services for... I don't mind poking around the posts to find the shops that offer repair services...

One place that I know of that offers DS repair services is Gamers Solution.

There's a lot of places to check the Wii's specs, e.g. Wikipedia, but then that's not the strong point of the Wii, its about the gameplay and creativeness. icon_rolleyes.gif

But then, actually there are Wii games that have good graphics, thou still not on par with Xbox360 and PS3, but still very very good, and next-gen enough for me.

Check out "Metroid Prime: Corruption", "Super Mario Galaxy" and the upcoming release "The Conduit" thumbup.gif
It will blow you away and change your mind about the Wii's graphic abilities.
And I blame the Developers on this shortcoming.
Read more about the "The Conduit", Google it~!

Here's a wiki for u to check out too... The Conduit

I think my question should be asked here
Hey guys, I saw yesterday inside my father's credit card gift redemption booklet
There is a Wii. Wanted to ask my dad to claim it as I wanted it for quite sometime
Is the Wii an Asian version? What type of version is it then?
Where would I get the games? How much are the games smile.gif

Thanks

Which credit card? If it's Maybank, they're discontinuing the Wii for redemption. Was going to redeem the Wii but the Maybankard at 1 Utama doesn't have it anymore as it was being discontinued sad.gif

You can get the games at pretty much any game shops, depending where you are. One (good, in my opinion) place where I get mine are Gamer's Hideout in Cineleisure or Tropicana City Mall. Original, though. Costs approximately RM 150-RM 200+ usually, but you can poke around for cheaper sometimes.

If the Wii is official unit, then it will most likely be NTSC/UC- US version.

Since I did a little game coverage on what you should be playing on the DS, I thought I'd help gamers think a little bit more on the Wii.

Excitebots: Trick Racing (Nintendo)
-Looking for a racer besides Mario Kart? This one should never dissapoint. Taking a cue from the Excite series, this game does justice to racing fans (Who are having a major shortage) on the Wii.

MadWorld
-Not entirely recommended for the whole family, but best for the hardcore nut. The buckets of blood will make you cringe and enjoy the tastes of massacre. The best hardcore game to grace the Wii so far after No More Heroes.

Klonoa Wii
-The remake of the original platformer is not only given a graphical overhaul, but also a complete change in system control. And just maybe, all that has changed to opinions from 1up providing an A+, and IGN giving a 8.0 for this game. Don't miss it since you would crave for platformers after Super Mario Galaxy.
