streaming works best with ethernet.

wifi 5m/15ft... i suggest u consider replacing with a better router, makes a lot of difference for max speed and stability.

i'll look into that option. thanks bro for the opinion thumbsup.gif as of know i'll need to check how to clear the kodi cache. did find at the youtube how to easily maintain that. need xfinity repo i think.

i took a look at 330x and i really like their PQ
i dont have the opportunity to test 630x and 330x side by side but since people in here said that 630x PQ more good than 330x, i might get 630x
anyone in here ever bought from this seller? seems it more cheaper than others seller sold
are they selling demo unit?

Buying from such sites.. There's really no way to know if its a demo unit being sold, until the TV has been delivered. So you would have to risk it..

get into the details and see who is the actual seller.

if it is a reputable retailer, no need to worry.

u may even be able to contact them, ask questions before u make the order.

they will deliver themselves, install.

i bought this tv >1 yr ago this way, no problem.

Typically, the high-end models do support H.265 playback.. Always consult the manual. Most manufacturers allow free and easy download of a TV model's manual.

because my speaker only use that wire dont have optical audio wire

There is an audio output (seem like 3.5mm) for left and right in a single port... it is not in green colour just black... you can find it at the left side of the tv

is h264 or h265 a coding compression format more relevant to the player or the tv?

say, if a box player can decode h265, it will ok to display on any 1080p tv, right?

Both are compression formats and rely on processing power to get "uncompressed". Why the newer H.265 format is important, is cuz one can get the same amount of video and audio signals in significantly less space (reports says reduction in size by half) than H.264 provides. This is good as 8K is around the corner and 4K is already large enough.

Yes, the primary purpose of a TV is to act as a display for incoming signals (A/V). Today, those signals are mostly digital. Hardware decoding of H.265 files requires much higher processing power than H.264 and most TVs do not ship with such processing power. Else one would simply play via USB and allow the TV to handle everything.. But if a media player that packs adequate processing power, does the hardware processing and simply sends the A/V signals to the TV, the TV reproduces the exact same results....as it would, were the TV equipped with more powerful hardware and compatible firmware.

the next sharp 4k hdr models should be coming later this year.

from the glimpse of the USA models (hisense rebranded sharp), it's not all that great - no more androidtv!

but... will it be the same or diff outside USA?
http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subac...l&id=1484549330

so, before the ue630x is taken off, maybe interested parties should consider seriously since the price is now at its lowest. biggrin.gif

ya, that's what i mean - if a box player can handle h265, any tv can display. no need power tv. biggrin.gif

re above, if u r asking if this sharp ue630x can usb playback h265, answer is yes.
kodi installed in the tv can also handle h265.

other tv usb playback, u need to check at the other tv brand/model threads.

does it support .srt subtitles direct play from pendrive/hdd?
*
yes.

BUT... the usb drive is sensitive to certain types of HDD and pendrives, formats, partitions, etc.

it does not read if "lousy drive" or too many files/folder names.

can power on/off the TV, try again; can use es file explorer or kodi to play too... that sort of thing.

in short, the USB playback function is NOT great.

best not to rely on it, use a separate box player if u have.

remember - this is a TV, not a media player, not a pc.

TV makers make good tv's, not media players - and they should.

QUOTE(abangmanis @ Jan 18 2017, 10:01 PM)
at the moment im using my pc to watch movies.
so everytime i got a new movies to watch, my family would go to my room upstair to watch movies hence i make a decision to buy a tv for them.
now im just waiting my 630x arrive.
usually i download remux movie (.mkv) where the size above 20gb and sometime i download hevc@h265 format if my hdd space running low.
since you said that tv not all hdd/pendrive can read, that's why i make an early plan to buy android box if that tv not support my hdd.
my max budget would be 400.
*
ok, for your case, i suggest u wait for the tv to arrive first.

play yr hdd with the tv usb, see how u like or dislike it.

if happy, good.

if not, read and get ideas in this thread:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3126605/+4360

what u describe, most current android boxes can do the job - .mkv's, hevc265, 4k.

just u check the specs.

android boxes are fairly mature now, with some as low as rm200 and as high as >rm1k.

the premium ones will have newer android versions, better video and audio codecs for media playback, continuous firmware support and more reliable hardware.

but such a box is not just for playback, it is actually made primarily for online streaming if u hv good internet speed. then again, the tv itself also has a good google androidtv inside. so, it is up to u whether to get a separate box now or later.

lastly, if u have used an android phone or tablet, they all work the same since they are using google android. but if all new to it, will take time to learn how to use it well. it is quite diff from pc windows.

Noted LC58UE630x has been discontinued in Malaysia and replaced with LC60UE630X. Noted the key different is new 60 inch backlight system using Edge LED while 58 inch using LED.

May I know what is major impact of using Edge LED? My understanding using LED would give better contrast while using Edge LED basically is because of cost cutting?

Thanks

Edge-lit LED have the LEDs surrounding the back of the panel and they use guides to light up the whole backplane. The main advantage is cost reduction, since they use fewer LEDs. Backlit LEDs have the LEDs directly behind the panel. They provide better contrast, but are also more expensive to make.

Summarily, the replaced model uses Edge-lit LEDs. OLED tech is far superior as there is no need for back-lighting, due to the pixels themselves emitting light...resulting in proper blacks, cuz if black is needed, the pixel(s) is shutoff.

usually, it' easy to say this good or no good based on specs, reviews and "OPC" - other people's comments.

if i were u, i will visit the shops and see with my own eyes.

more impt, compare to other models for the same video.

compare prices too.

if it is poor, u will know; if it is good, u will know too.

if u can't tell, better buy something MUCH cheaper!

at the end of the day - whatever u buy, trust your own eyes and yr own wallet becos it's yours, not other people's! biggrin.gif

It's the replaced model using edge-lit OED and not the other way ... anyway just bought an unit of LC58UE630X online... waiting for delivery now ...

Thanks all for feedback.
