From academic and self learning POV, isnt this a red flag...??

I do have the same opinion as you.
Also, UK is so small hence 38th isnt exactly high too.

is it true that a person can skip degree and directly go to Master if s/he has enough experience?

In Malaysia, there are certain conditions for this. It is possible, depending on you being able to show that you have the relevant work experience in the area. I think you can check with MoHE (or is it MoE) website.

If we're talking about the same Imperial,

http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolranki...london?mhq5j=e1

pretty similar with Lancaster I would say. Fee wise, I would find it hard to pay in quid smile.gif

Many years ago, yes, as long as you have impressive work experience, but without a bachelor degree, you still can enrol in MBA course. Now, I heard (after checking MBA courses offered by local private universities & colleges), Bachelor degree is a MUST. Do correct me if I am wrong.

Very informative thread but too long to read some of the dispute. Here's my dilemma so hopefully someone with experience can advise.

I am in my late 30s, holding a mid level managerial role. I am planning to do MBA, preferably one with accredition and support from EPF Account 2 withdrawals.

I am thinking to do MBA to help boost my career, I think it would. Why? Because I feel to move up in upper management, Degree may not be enough, especially one with average result.

I plan to do MBA part time as I am working with family commitments. I am currently looking at HELP MBA Online course, but need some comments. Other options for online distance learning works for me too as long as accredited minimally locally.

Appreciate some feedback. Thank you.

I am a MBA student. FYI, MBA is not all about the courses, it is all about the process of learning. Theories from the books may give you some fresh ideas but in fact a lot of things you will also learn from reading additional journals while doing your assignments, interaction with your classmates in specific project, group discussions, group project management experience and etc...

Yet, each classmate has his or her own different background, so his or her thinking process / ideas may help to develop yourself as a person too in overall.

To be short, theoretical knowledge from the book is just small part of it, the learning process experience of the program is the KEY.

Hope it helps you to make a better decision. smile.gif

Thanks.

Hi guys, I'm surprise there's an ongoing MBA thread there.

I've been in the workforce for 10years now and thinking to advance myself so I was thinking of getting MBA courses or PMI.

Unfortunately, PMI required to have experience in Managing to get that so looks like MBA was one of the better choices for me.

But I have doubts. I do not know what to find and which to choose. There's so many college offer such course and I do not want to make a wrong choice which will wasted my time.

Is there any standardization for these courses? International standards like kind of ACCA like we use to hear for accountings. Obviously, I do not want some college just make everything easy and give u a certificate which is worthless. What should I looks at?

Recently I saw one college called Wawasan offering RM24K for MBA. I like the timing as it's one day class per month for 2 years.

What do you think? Need some advise.

Its actually Asia School of Business (ASB) which is a collaboration between MIT Sloan Business School and Bank Negara Malaysia. But your cert is from ASB.
