Hey guys, got a quesion on credit limit. Im planning on applying a home loan. And thinking of reducing my CL from 10k to 5k, so that it would give better chance for the loan approval. My question is, would reducing out CL have any affect on loan application? I got 2 cards (CIMB CB/MB Ikwan) with 10k each, so planning on reducing both.
*
I am not 100% sure.
But for home loan, the bank owns your property until it is fully transferred to your name.

In other words, the approval should be verified against the property value, your income vs commitments rather than how much CL you have, in my humble opinion.

Unlike credit card, there is nothing the bank can hold from you if you don't pay.

I checkd with my banker, he went through my finances and in the record i could see my ccs' CLs. I asked him, and he said the bank would take it into account too, but not much. Not much is still something for me hehe
*
In that case, that will probably eat into the approval limit, i.e. 80% of the property value rather than 85%. And I am sure the 5% difference is far higher than cutting 5K CL.

hi guys/gals... all sifu...

any sifu here have recommendation?

i have MBB signature, MBB 2 card Visa & Amex & Ikhwan.
*
Add your VOX to M2U under other banks' credit card.
Then use VOX to pay DBKL in M2u.

Im planning to do a large amt purchase at this month. As i require to request for temporary limit increase, would like to clarify how it works.

Let say i successfully increase the limit today, i do the transaction tomorrow, will it mean by 30 days from the date of increase i have to clear off the transacted amount i made?
*
More like 20 days after the statement date.

If you would like to prolong the repayment, you may consider those 0% interest Balance Transfer to other credit card you have.

if you have an average RM2k general monthly expenses that doesn't earn you cash back from any card, you can consider HLB Fortune card. Otherwise, HLB Essential.

Is it necessary to call the banks nowadays, before going overseas?
*
some banks, yes, while other no.

But you'll never be sorry to call up and inform them, to prevent unnecessary inconvenience when using your card overseas.

Apparently this is for business owner.  It is not a personal CC. I am looking for a personal CC .

I didn't see a clause that says it's limited to business owner though.

Received email from banks saying there is a recent surge of credit card frauds.

Please monitor your accounts online diligently.

Would like to ask, if I wanna buy a RM5000 stuff using maybank cc and opt for EPP..

So is basically 5000/12 months without any extra charges or upfront payment?

I only need to pay 416.67/mth. Correct?
*
Unless there is a promotion, otherwise Maybank usually charges an upfront fee for the total amount.

Hi to all credit card sifu here. I have question to ask I've recently got my credit card from CIMB but I'm quite reluctant to use it because I'm not completely master on this card and worse comes to worse if I don't use it properly you can get bankrupt. Main question here if I bought let's say for example a laptop cost 4k and shop offer 0 interest with credit card with the payment of rm333 every month in 1 year. Can I pay more than 333 and settle my debt with using credit card as soon as possible or I cannot I have to keep on paying rm333 for 1 whole year. Can someone help me clarify with this?
*
this is no easy question.

if you got the promo from the shop, then you need to check with the shop on their T&C.
if the promo is from CIMB, then you need to check the T&C from the bank.
See if they have a clause for 'penalty' on early termination.

When you say 'settle my debt with using credit card as soon as possible', I assumed you meant settling your credit card debt as soon as possible. Then same answer again, you need to check the promo T&C to see if there is any 'penalty' on early termination.

But if you are diligent credit card user, make good use of the credit card promo of 0% fee and keep your money in FD if you will, earn some interest and slowly pay off your 'debt' if you have extra money. biggrin.gif

Hi guys, wanna ask. I just paid my outstanding balance for my credit card. But the outstanding balance is there. Need to take few days to change the outstanding balance to RM0.00?

Thanks.
*
depends on the mode of your payment, too, i.e. by check, GIRO, instant transfer, ATM deposit, cash payment, etc.
some banks shows real time update, others, next day.

Hi all, annual income below 36k can hold cards from 2 issuer including supplementary cards or excluding ?
*
should be excluding, since supp card is sharing your credit limit. Only Principle card matters.
