Hi sifus, wanted to know on renewal of expired card. And hope i can get advise here.

I've just done that for my Maybank2Card card renewal. Mind to share if I have to inform all the current auto debit payee that I've subscribed regarding my new cards(insurance, telco bill, etc) ?? Even thought the cards are running the same numbers (with different expiry date)?
*
Yes, you have to inform.

Reason because the card verification is done against the card number, expiry date and CVV.

If i try to book a hotel by phone,  and use a credit card to pay the booking fee,  they will just ask for the 16 digit numbers,  right? Will they ask for the ccv number?
*
CVV is by no chance to be disclosed to anyone.

Usually what's required over the phone is,

1. Name on Card
2. card number
3. Expiry date

Usually it takes how long to deliver the cards?

I requested them to resend the cards in the end of September but yet to receive any.
*
it depends from bank to bank.
but if you are uneasy, call CS to check on status. they should be able to advise you the tracking number if sent by courier.

I read up on it. Problem is I make a lump sum payment of 50K , if I change to monthly commitment , then I will end up paying much more which will be so much higher compared to the CB I would get from this CC.
*
that's ok, you can still target the bonus, i.e. RM68k for RM880 (i think)

When the card expired will you still be able to renew the card?
*
the bank is supposed to automatically sent you a renewed card prior to your card expiry.
if that's not the case, maybe there are other reasons. good to give them a call to find out.

Thanks.

At  first, I thought this no credit card for retirees (with no income) is due to instruction from BNM.

Looks like it is up to individual banks as some do give to retirees for one reason or another. If it is BM regulation, then it should be  NO cc for ALL retirees.

Read in the web that retirees in Spore and Aust are also facing the same no cc for retirees.

Pity the retirees. So be better prepared when one retires here! Ha.
*
Imagine if you are a retiree and have a few millions deposited into the bank, do you think the bank will refuse you a credit card?

So, we've all heard about the PTPTN discount thing for lump sum payment. I have 7k left but thinking to pay it off.

Now Maybank has promo on BT. My only worry is that after charging to card A, the BT couldn't get approved.

Any one knows how generous Maybank is on the 0% BT approval? Any other tips/heads-up appreciated.

There is still Public Bank, Aeon Credit Service for 6 month 0% interest, provided if you have them.

Hello humans,  I wanna ask if I could apply credit card with no payslip?  Epf stopped since many years ago..
All I have is a company that is generating about 20-30k revenue per month. Thanks in advance.
*
you could probably try to apply as a company, rather than individual.
the bank may assess your company for collateral.

Yes, bank have right not to share some info.
But for reject application reason also cannot share to customers?

If like that, what for customers want to apply credit card? Everybody can boycott credit card bank service provider already since bank did not want to share to customers who reject the credit card application.
*
the banks never force anyone to apply credit card, you know?

Yes, I know.. Take 1 pc credit card more easily than carry 100 pcs of cash note in your wallet when you have intention to purchase items.

*
If carrying 1 card vs a stash of cash is your concern, there is Debit card, too. No bank will decline you on that.
