Can you tell me what Joe Fang has told you all? Why he makes you all like to take the OBU?
Any advantages to take OBU degree?
Yaya......you can done it with your part 3 papers or after you have finish your acca......so long as you have pass your part 2 papers......I dunno which papers already......cause the syllabus has changed.....last time you are requiring to pass paper 2.4 2.5 and 2.6 in order to take the OBU degree......

abt the OBU deg...
At 1st i oso got same thinking as u.Its no point to do OBU since wanna complete ACCA which higher level than Degree. But after heard Joe Fang's advising, think is better to do the OBU for the safety purpose (as what Joe Fang said).

Yup,as long as u complete all the part 2 papers, then can do with part 3 paper at the same time. I heard my frends said can start to do it even u r in part 2 then submit it while u complete part 2.

lol... talking about F7's lecturer Joe Fang in KSA, it's quite funny... he likes to associate his examples about movies, not old movies, but new movies in cinema... he'll say that 'ok, now let me bring you Behind The Scenes of...' last week it was about The Transformers... yesterday it was about Harry Potter : The Order Of The Phoenix...

when he wants to describe about some method, he'll say that... & somehow he'll ask us - 'what's the latest movie in the cinema now?'... well, good way to distract us & let us think... then our mind will be a bit refreshed huh? lol ^^

besides that he gives a lot of scenario or situation... hmm, let me see, probably i would say, a talk, about OBU... about some WAYS to achieve your ACCA status by the age of 18 1/2 years old...

his scenario was like this:
start CAT in Form 4 - 16 years old (without the need of SPM)
start ACCA by 17, finish within 1 1/2 years taking MAX papers at once...
3 years working experience... makes it about 22 years old

lol... then earn income of RM2,000 per month (which is considered low by him) work for some 3 years & buy a CAR & a HOUSE... then show to your friend & say 'i got car & i got house, you've just graduated only' - which in this situation the friend will be 25 years of age... ^^

quite funny, but motivating... Joe Fang, not too bad... pretty relaxed so far, breaks here & there... 5 mins tongue.gif

gonna see what F8's lecturer Philip Woo at KSA will offer today... hehe

since you have study your F7 with ms menon......trust me......if you follow her instruction and do all her homeworks......you even can score in F7.....and the passing rate for this paper at sunway is very high......ie 85%++...... thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
You need to attend about 60 lessons for menon class which compare to those other lecturer only 24 lessons something......so there is no point for you to fail the paper......trust the lecturer and your ability too...... icon_rolleyes.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

weeee... just came back from Philip Woo's class...
well well... what can i say? i'm sure those who went for his class today will say one short sentence - 'he's very scary... he talks non-stop'
lol ^^
indeed, the first impression of him was oh well, some late 50s year old guy, look chubby & quite nice... but oh god, he started the class in a great 'introduction'... yes, 'introduction'

he said that he's a very strict person, & say that we need to go for his class tests on some selected day(s), he marks the scripts & if you copy he'll scold you, you need to be PROFESSIONAL (he used that word really umpteen times today), need to KNOW your stuff, don't guess... & know what? he talked for some 30mins on his 'introduction'...

at first i was quite pissed... he said this 'if you don't like my class, you can leave anytime... go to another class which you can sit back relax, STARE AT THE SKY & listen'... he said as well 'my class is not something you come to class, then go home'... which means you'll need to study consistently from day one, otherwise it's Merry X'mas ho ho ho to you... lol

i find him really good once he started lecturing... really makes audit paper seems lively... loads of hilarious jokes, but relevant & sounds convincing... able to keep me awake, alive & kicking... imagine 2pm to 9pm, that was something you see...

well, i love this particular joke...
he said he's wearing 'M' size clothes if it's in the USA... back then he was wearing 'S' size... & he said to the class... oh & his size is quite chubby & quite big... but ok to a man who's at such age... so, he said to the class 'i think for you people, you can't wear these sizes ('S' & 'M')... you know what? you need to go to the CHILDREN'S DEPARTMENT'! lmao... i was like oh god... so funny

his class is really lively... he draws some great diagrams... easily understood & i love his explanation... no doubt why his class is FULL HOUSE... *ding-dong* yea, FULL HOUSE i repeat... even his P1 class as well... unbelievable... undoubtedly the best audit class i've ever attended...

clap clap... really!
now i'm still very awake, how i wish he could last until 10pm... lol, never regret taking his class... woo hoo...

so, how many LYN members in the class? i was smiling to almost everyone i saw... but oh well, i don't have X-ray eyes... anyway i was wearing red today, in jeans... sat on the left side on 7th row to the furthest outside... lol

cheers & enjoy your weekend... ^^

to all ACCA friends here,

if you want to buy FTC  study text,u can get from;

Maxim Educational Enterprise
Mr SM Jayabalan
No 4 A Jalan Kenari 10
Bandar Baru Puchong
47100 Puchong
Selangor

Contact: Ms Mala
Tel: 03 8075 5601
Fax: 03 8075 6018
Email: maximsedu@maxis.net.my

The company is located near to IOI puchong mall, hopefully you may buy it because is really cheap compare to online ordering, only RM 100 for study text if you buy at Maxim
if you want to buy bpp study text

. BPP
DL Training Consultancy
No 9 Jalan Gereja
50100 Kuala Lumpur

Contact: Mr Daniel Lee
Tel: 03 20322722/ 22828218
Fax: 03 20322378
Email: daniel@dl.com.my

for you information this company located at mcorange institute, the price is also cheaper than online ordering,MPH bookstores, kinokuniya book stores

other provider of bpp study text maybe FTMS college..........visit......www.ftmsglobal.com

but you must become a FTMS student in order to get a discount

and if you are studying at paac college, you can rent the bpp study text for RM50 in one sem,you dont need to buy, just rent it,the paac college will refund you money after the exam, providing that u giving back their book

for other material and references, especially for tax, law, financial reporting, audit paper

i think you better have a look at universiti malaya bookstores which is called "pekan buku"

at this bookstores you can get malaysian taxation(dr choong kwaii fatt) for only rm126 compare to kinokuniya or mph which is rm140

for example, recently i purchased "financial accounting and reporting" which is WRITTEN by BARRY ELLIOT&JAMIE ELLIOT,the publisher is financial times

i purchased only for rm 88 at pekan buku universiti malaya whereas at kinokuniya the price is about RM285

thats so expensive for the same book, which is you've been cheated if you purchased it

the audit book is also a cut price between rm 10-15

so its a lot of discount

so my advice,if you want to buy a lot of reference books, please have a look at Universiti Malaya,if the stock is not available you can order from them, giving the details the book that you want
*
How do i get to the Pekan Buku?? Im keen in buying some reference book...luckily i havent buy it from mph~

ACCA will send u the exam entry form.. probably around end of August if im not mistaken, it has nothing to do wit the college

the registration number is the number u were given when u first registered with ACCA, u can check ur ACCA ID Card...
for the passcode, it should be on the attached letter when u received ur ACCA ID Card.. all relevent details is in it..

but just incase u forgot ur passcode, i think u can ask for a new one at the website

hope this helps

Philip Woo's class ended at 9pm yesterday... but he said in future classes he might have to extend to 10pm, because he felt that 6 hours from 2pm-9pm (deduct 1 hour dinner break) aren't sufficient...

but his lecturing is really good, you won't feel bored at all & will be able to understand audit subject easily... that's why his class is humongous! ^^ - FULL HOUSE
