It only cover JR train. It no cover Subway.
Tokyo are cover by Subway 70% JR just 30%

Honestly you no need any pass in Tokyo. Just buy Pasmo or Suica enough already.

Those pass are expensive unless one day you ride train or subway more than 10 times above only worth.

My family (parents + sibling) will be heading to Tokyo this 6th - 10th.
Didn't give too much planning since they wanted a casual walk, eat and shop trip.
Hotel is near Shinjuku Station and will be flying there with ANA.
With that in mind, my rough itinerary is as below. Kind feedback is appreciated.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

As you can see, my parents first time there and they want to take it easy. Simple shopping and makan (RIP wallet sweat.gif )
Feel free to advise anything, especially what to do at night. (But I suspect my parents wanna go back hotel and rest laugh.gif )

RegentCid, got a few things need to confirm on NEX.
1) For NEX I know train ticket reservation is a must. I'm buying that 4k JPY ticket combo, am I required to reserve my return ticket when I buy at Narita? Or I can go JR counter to reserve when I going back? (I want to reserve at Tokyo station to NRT)
2) When NEX train go to Tokyo, need to change train carriage? I'm going to Shinjuku but I see NEX train depart to two different terminal location from Tokyo station.

Thanks for clarification.

I think you should spend more time in kawagoe and going to akiiharaba is quite far. I remember we took the train from the station where the kit kat museum and it was far from akiharaba

6th July (Wed)
Lepak until 2400.
Seriously? Your parent can stand it? plus after long haul flight. I bet your self also no stamina can withstand until 2400.

NEX Combo with Suica only can get at Narita Airport JR Ticket Office. When you buy this combo, ticket officer will automatic reserve the seat already. When Return, You just go Tokyo Station JR Ticket Office reserve the seat again. From Narita Airport can direct go Shinjuku Station by NEX, no need change train at Tokyo Station.

Thanks for the feedback. Kawagoe is supposed to be a morning to late afternoon thing. I'm taking the 1k Yen Kawagoe Discount Pass (Return train tix + One day bus pass) by Tobu from Ikebukuro:
Kawagoe Discount Pass

Since I'm returning to Ikebukuro might as well take Yamanote then go Akiba before return to Shinjuku at night. Any thoughts?

On the yamanote line, do search whether it is faster to take the metro line across town which would require at least a transfer.
Yamanote line is quite slow if I remember but less interchange as it goes in one circle and akihabara is the other end of the circle from ikeburo.

I bought the Tobu pass but didn't include bus travel. Bus pass bought at kawagoe. We spend a far bit of time there got back around 6pm and started in the morning. The kita temple spend a far bit of time taking pics. But we when it was close to cherry blossom.

Just a word of advice since u are doing a long trip first day arrival best to get to bed unless u get to sleep on the plane you will be quite tired. And yakitori is nice but can't skip for supper

I plan to take early JR from Sapporo to Biei and then to Furano. Just walk around and sightseeing.

I dun mind about hard to find restaurant as can bring own food and search for local dessert and snacks at there.
