Praise be to roushi RegentCid for recommending Saitou in Iriya, Tokyo.

Had a trip on early January and opted for this for brunch.

The closest station is the Hibiya Line Iriya station but you can take the Yamanote Line to Uguisudani Station and walk about 10 mins there.
(That's what I did)

The restaurant is very close to Iriya Station

And as sifu mentioned, reach there 11AM already people line up.

Waited about 15 minutes then can masuk d.

There it is, the Kaisen Don Gu-Oomori for 1050 Yen

Everything tasted very gooding.

When you order tell the nice waiter you want the rice to be separated.

Why separate even though it is donburi? The rice is hot and will heat up your sashimi. Just tell them "Gohan wa betsu mori" is ok.

Also they will ask your preference for normal white rice (shiroi gohan) or sushi rice (sushi-meshi) and also the rice portion such as normal (nami-mori) or large (oo-mori)

Will comeback again next time!

My family (parents + sibling) will be heading to Tokyo this 6th - 10th.
Didn't give too much planning since they wanted a casual walk, eat and shop trip.
Hotel is near Shinjuku Station and will be flying there with ANA.
With that in mind, my rough itinerary is as below. Kind feedback is appreciated.

As you can see, my parents first time there and they want to take it easy. Simple shopping and makan (RIP wallet sweat.gif )
Feel free to advise anything, especially what to do at night. (But I suspect my parents wanna go back hotel and rest laugh.gif )

RegentCid, got a few things need to confirm on NEX.
1) For NEX I know train ticket reservation is a must. I'm buying that 4k JPY ticket combo, am I required to reserve my return ticket when I buy at Narita? Or I can go JR counter to reserve when I going back? (I want to reserve at Tokyo station to NRT)
2) When NEX train go to Tokyo, need to change train carriage? I'm going to Shinjuku but I see NEX train depart to two different terminal location from Tokyo station.

Thanks for clarification.

I think you should spend more time in kawagoe and going to akiiharaba is quite far. I remember we took the train from the station where the kit kat museum and it was far from akiharaba

Thanks for the feedback. Kawagoe is supposed to be a morning to late afternoon thing. I'm taking the 1k Yen Kawagoe Discount Pass (Return train tix + One day bus pass) by Tobu from Ikebukuro:
Kawagoe Discount Pass

Since I'm returning to Ikebukuro might as well take Yamanote then go Akiba before return to Shinjuku at night. Any thoughts?

Lepak until 2400.
Seriously? Your parent can stand it? plus after long haul flight.  I bet your self also no stamina can withstand until 2400.

NEX Combo with Suica only can get at Narita Airport JR Ticket Office. When you buy this combo, ticket officer will automatic reserve the seat already. When Return, You just go Tokyo Station JR Ticket Office reserve the seat again. From Narita Airport can direct go Shinjuku Station by NEX, no need change train at Tokyo Station.

I think Suica combo no more liao. Now they only offer 4k yen return ticket. sad.gif
NEX Return Tix

Sifu, of course took into consideration. Myself am frequent to TW flight person so I am OK with it. My parents don't want to admit they old so they say they wanna lepak to 2400 laugh.gif
(But if they tired I shall sound the retreat back to the hotel also laugh.gif )
