Hi. Previously I applied audit position at KXMX and got an interview but I did not get through it. The manager give me a feedback say that I had communication problem, I guess its because I become stutter and could not answer properly on those behavioural question. Then I was given another interview for the audit centralization team through referral, anyone has been through this before can give any suggestion?

I am offered to do my placement in GT under the Audit and Assurance department. Since I have no idea how external audit differs with internal audit (risk advisory), I would like some advice regarding the two departments on which is better short term and long term, and also the "exit opportunities" that both department has in terms of finding accounting jobs outside of accounting firms.

Thanks and have a nice day smile.gif

Wanting to find out how the working hours for Financial Advisory departments (Deal Strategy, Valuations, Corporate Finance, Transaction Services) differ from Audit?

If not mistaken, have read somewhere that it is more manageable?

Here’s an update sifus. So HR finally got back to me saying they’ve received approval to proceed with my application and now that they need to obtain salary approval. This is an experienced position and all interviews with SM have been done awhile ago but they said they were looking for project demand to bring me in and now that they’ve received approval to proceed. It makes me confused la ayam not sure what does that imply already? Like why they’ve been holding my profile for soooo long

They need a good reason to hire you, either got new projects needing people, so they try to staff their internal staff first, then only look for external hire. Cheers

Just got shortlisted for Del upcoming bootcamp as an analyst in tech strategy. I'm anxious af. Anyone can let me know what's it like? I am pretty clueless how this works. They gave me some self training link to learn some software.

I'm a fresh grad.

The process I've gone through so far is
1. Short phone interview.
2. Video talking about academics, programming language, and one tech trend I am impressed with.
3. Currently solution prototype bootcamp and business behavioural interview.

No this is normal. It's not common to approve/ hire on the spot as they still have to do further checking and comparison with other candidates. Unless you have other offers, you can wait or keep applying.

I've gotten a verbal offer from one of the Big4 but have yet to receive the offer letter. Is it confirmed or it is not finalized until I was given the offer letter? :/

Always wait for a written offer (digital or paper). That is when you can scrutinize the offer and review through all of the points in the document.

It wasn't for the audit department, it was for consulting.

If you dont mind, would u tell me roughly how much is the difference? Im SA from PwC and I have friends from all acc. firms. Im not sure how different is the associate level between the big 4 now, but what I can tell you is PwC's nurturing style and method is probably the best out of all firms.

Salary wise in SA level should be the more or less the same, (EY and Deloitte should have the edge), of coz if we are talking about same grade. Diff grade have diff salary. Grade depends on your interview, education, prof. qualification, etc.

Yes, PwC has all the benefit you mentioned and last time i check with my friends, PwC flex is better than the rest. Also, yes, PwC is the most prestigious in MY (they are the only one who is not involved in 1mdb scandal) but international wise, it is Deloitte.

You should consult few more people, not just lowyat forum, but your uni/college senior before you make your decision.

One last thing you might want to take note, how you fare in the firm really depends on your luck (unless you have connection with the partners). If you end up with shitty manager or senior, then you are pretty much f-up.

All the best, and good luck.

I think most important is the audit client or team you will be attached to. If you didn't get this info during interview, then skip this.

Generally pwc tend to have lesser but bigger clients than other big4s but you may not end up on those teams. See which interviewer impress you more.

For me, the 2 is like choosing between Toyota and Honda.

Check ur offer letter/employment letter. Exxxx Yxxxx offer letter will exclude the clause abt EPF rate (it's not explocitly mentioned) and some other employment benefits clauses. It's very unethical and I dont actually think that's unfair for the employees/candidates. Heard from my friend that their counterparts in other countries have a more comprehensive and complete offer letters than Malaysia though. Have a read below - it's referred to That yellow firm in M'sia actually

Whoever got offer letter from this firm should read thoroughly and feedback to the HR to rectify this
