yawn.gif had a boring interview with a fresh grad candidate.

Her voice is so soft until i have to ask her to speak louder.

Note to others: Do some research on big 4 before going for interview.

The culture at deloitte is good. Professional yet everyone can be friends (rest assured, no politics in the firm), making jokes (not offensive ones) even with senior management (this part is for tax department especially the area where my desk was). You'll surely like it--no one is unlikeable and they treat you (a newbie) sorta like a part of them. But job performance has to be maintained and improved as time goes by the gl (group leader) will talk to you when she feels that you do not exert 100% to ur work (since shes the one checking everything which goes out from the group and you're supposed to complete ur work on time, especially during peak). As for audit, Im x too sure, but another part i like about deloitte is that the KL office building is very new (moved in 2013 i heard), working in a whole new office (the toilets are all new too, fragrant🌸) kinda refreshes my mind biggrin.gif and as for internal firm services, you gotta need to explore yourself, hopefully the hr wont get to u. Anyway, deloitte is a good firm to work with and you ask for worklife balance? Not sure if this counts, but the firm has free movie screenings for its staff every month at ecurve/one u+considerably flexible working hours (flexi-fridays for tax). Doesn't it sound good?

Hey guys, I have learned a lot by reading these big four threads lately... a big thanks to everyone who provided input. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I'm going to be a kpmg audit intern soon and I have another question to ask the seniors here.

Let's say if I want to switch to KPMG advisory after my audit intern stint, would a prof. cert like CIMA (not ACCA) help?

and is CIMA counted as equivalent to ACCA in KPMG Audit (in terms of being a requirement for promotion to senior, salary etc)?

Thanks in advance. biggrin.gif

A little heads up for fresh grads interested to join Big4 in SG

I talked with my cousin yesterday, he currently holding a managerial position at one of the Big4. What he told me was basically they didn't take fresh grads from Malaysia already. Reason being 1: stagnant market 2:SG local U pump in sufficient graduates 3:tight MOM regulations

They mostly consider local U top graduates(GPA is the main factor)and starting salary is 3K sgd++. The current situation is SG Big4 hire experienced individuals with Msia Big4 background. HOWEVER, if you have connection means someone refers you into the firm, u as a fresh grad can still get a job in SG Big4.

cheers.

Hello everyone, I'm a final year student in Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Accounting. My internship semester will be in my final semester before graduation.

I'm aware that I can apply for a post in Big 4 while in final year. Suppose I apply to KPMG or Deloitte in KL (preferably in the audit dept), would they consider me as a fresh graduate (since I don't have to go back to uni after internship), or as an intern?
My concern is that the remuneration for both positions would be different (if not mistaken). And I've heard about the crazy work hours that fresh graduates have to endure. 0.0

Would be really grateful if anyone in Big 4 would answer my question here. Thanks! =) notworthy.gif
