nah. not exiting. I'm in here for the long run.

my main goal in doing all this unit trust and stocks is not looking at the 10% or return or dividend.

my goal?

to reach my first 1 million.

I'm pretty keen to get into wax but kind of worried as MAS is expected to list again somewhere next yr right ?

With the new management, they may be doing well and that's going to be an added competition for AAX although both airlines compete in different market segments

Tenaga stock stil good to buy in?
*
yes.

here's my reasoning.

1) their 176usd project in Pakistan has been confirmed.

http://m.thesundaily.my/node/444390

2) it's a "too big to fail" kind of stock.

3) it's one of the cheapest expensive stock out there. (myr fluctuation)

4)election stock.

I would love to buy more but I do not have the patience for it.

it is a very very stable stock. sometimes no movement.

target price 16.

Tenaga forward dividend yield to be around 4-5%

Treat it as something like property investment, buy and hold for "rental" income

MAS will always be boggled down by their union. one of the main reason why I avoid counters that are protected by the government. look at FGV and you will understand what I mean.

i am no pinky spider or Boon3 or dividend magic I do not have the time to stare at the bursa all day or attend agms or know what's PE ratio or what not.

All I am is an average Joe so my principles are simple. If you understand the nature of the company and its vision and mission. just invest long term.

I don't think it could be as high of 4-5%, 3-4% should be a more realistic dividend yield target.

They can't give all the profit as dividend like BAT, or like other consumer stocks.
Cash is needed for capex as well as expanding for more power station, as electricity consumption will only go higher not lower.

Not to mention potential higher borrowing cost in USD in the future or when needed for refinancing time (as Fed is expected to increase interest rate further), as it has significant USD borrowing.

But if RM vs USD exchange rate favourable, coming quarter may see some forex gain as well.

It is a defensive stock, and one of cheaper stock in term of valuation for big cap or KLCI components.

The risk of this stock is always the same throughout the history aka tariff revision if fuel cost goes higher time.

of course. treat tenaga as your fixed deposit. no really. don't laugh. it's slow. it's stable. liquidity ain't a issue with tenaga as the volumes are always in their hundreds. also epf is one of the major shareholders in tenaga. keep it for the dividends.

what's not to love this counter.

well one thing I love about stocks is that they will never allow it to be at status quo. the BOD and ceo need to answer to their share holders if things don't change for a long period of time hence why I notice they are always seeking projects outside malaysia. I will always have tenaga in my portfolio.

on paper it's a very nice dream to have. until some corrupted minister spoils the fun for everyone.
