Ooh are you currently doing your degree? biggrin.gif

Btw did you also submit your older/expired passports when you went for your visa appointment?

Yup, currently doing an actuarial science degree in London. 😁

Yes, I submitted one. The reason apparently was that its to help them verify the countries you've been to for the past 3 or 4 months. If you don't have one, that's fine. If you do and have more than one old passport, just submit the one before your current pastport.

Thanks for the reply! biggrin.gif So they’ll return the old passport when they return the rest of the supporting documents?

Okay, thanks! Btw did you submit passport size photos as well?

Do they check your documents when you submit them or do they just take whatever you want to submit for your application?

Sorry for asking all these questions lol

No problem.

As far as I'm aware, you do not need to bring in any passport sized photos. The VFS office will take a picture of you instead as part of the application process.

You don't really need to check the documents yourself. An officer will usually come by to run though a checklist of all required documents you have brought before asking you to wait a bit for your turn to hand them to a counter. Just make sure you have all necessary documents before entering the VFS office

I see. Well, don't worry too much about the process. You'll be fine as long as you've brought all the docunents needed. The whole process until submission for processing should take less than 15 mins overall.

What do you mean by "school for free"? Do you mean if they are able to receive free education with the Tier 4 visa?

Shouldn't be a problem as long as they are under you as tier 4 dependents.

The restrictions, for undergraduate, you need to be fully sponsored by the government. For postgraduate, you need to be there longer than 9 months. The school can refuse your kids if you're there for less than stipulated duration. Check the schools around the area where you intended to stay, Ofsted should have the latest data if the school is overcrowded etc. Some parents would like to send their kids to a performed/popular schools but it's not easy to get a place. If you've more than one kid, you probably will have harder time to get them into one school if you're a bit choosey.

Just went for my visa appointment. smile.gif Didn’t submit my academic and financial documents, only submitted my passports and my TB certificate (original and photocopy).

I guess now the wait begins.

Which were the other documents that you give to them for checking/viewing?

I gave them the document checklist I printed out and they let me tick it and sign it on the spot. I only submitted the following documents:

-Current and previous passport
-TB medical certificate (both the original and a photocopy)

I also gave them the payment receipt for the vfs premium lounge and courier services.

I let them have a look at the payment receipts I had for my visa application payment and IHS surcharge payment, as well as the printed version of my application form. They told me those were for my own reference though and that I didn't have to submit them.

Also since I opted for courier delivery for my passport, they let me fill in the courier slip and they gave me the receipt with a tracking number after I submitted my biometrics.

Basically I only submitted the mandatory documents and I didn't submit the optional ones like my financial evidence and academic certificates, since I didn't want to complicate things. I do have all of them with me though in case they want them later on.

Sorry for posting twice in a row but when you guys applied for your visa, did they return your TB certificate on the day of your appointment or did they return it when you got your visa? Because both me and my friend didn’t get our original ones back. 🤔
