yes i am going for fellowship and yes it is very hard. actually my earning is above average. many companies are with lower exam/annual/performance increment. typical earning for my exam progress and experience could range from 5k~8k depending on company. it is a big range
haha yes indeed. professional course in local uni = very cheap and effective, high ROI in term of financial, unless you have sponsor to oversea. i only spent less than 10k total in paying uni tuition fee.
but still, i think i will send my kid to oversea if i could afford to. local uni the lecturer standard....really speechless  doh.gif many of them have no industry experience because they have difficulties finding a job when they first graduated.

sorry i want to hide my identity here, so could not reveal my uni tongue.gif

Your insurance job, 18k a month? That seems good. If you are good at selling insurance, can just jump to another insurance company.

I was thinking that too. But I am just dilemma about the environment. I am quit because of that.

Insurance company usually have a few channel to get sales.

1. Agency force -
(pro) Freelance, no basic salary, agent - unit manager - agency manager or higher, unlimited incentive & bonuses.

(con) long hour working only able to get sales, 100 client met only 2 to 5 client deal (number of game), gold digger mindset, lavish life spending, agency politic issue!!

2. Bancassurance -
(pro) direct employee from insurance company, career advancement, more reliable for client to buy from u because u are 'bank staff', 9am - 5pm, berhad company benefit.

(con) fixed salary, one time off commission, limited income, starting from zero every month, (normal agency force's agent got renewal income)

3. corporate insurance / general insurance.
(pro) all big shot client, freelance basis, renewal income,

(con) limited product range, take long turn around time to deal sales, etc etc

*after analysis a few of above point. Meaningless for me to start up again in other company. I am now more willing to work in Management like marketing, training, business development but i am lack of cable to submit my resume to this particular channel.

Age: 29 as of 2016

Industry : Retails
Employment Level : Executive
Experience before joining : 4 months

I am serving my resignation notice and next week would be my last. Have a raise of more than 25% increment on next job and I have no complains. laugh.gif Total experience would be around 2 years plus. Many forumers here said is close to impossible to have more than 20% increment on job switch, but I guess what you can do is to prove to them that you have the skill sets that they are looking for. icon_rolleyes.gif

My plus side would be the events I did during free time. Been running charity events since 2011.

My ultimate target
- Have at least RM5000 in two years time
- Passive income of at least RM1000 per month (Before 35)
- Involve in business
- Savings for future
- A HOUSE!

Hey guys. Its been some time since i appear in this thread. Well, last job did not turn out to be a long term one. I quitted after 5 month due to niche market and very "cold" industry. Applied in this new company, they willing to give me extra. So my target i set on March this year had just gotten a step closer.

My ultimate target
- Have at least RM5000 in two years time - very close now. Need another thousand and i can cross this off!
- Passive income of at least RM1000 per month (Before 35) - Still thinking what kind of business i can venture into to secure this
- Involve in business - Still thinking
- Savings for future - Plan changed. Saving for cincin. Going to purpose next year. Wish me luck! tongue.gif
- A HOUSE! - Plan changed too. Save up money to renovate current existing house! biggrin.gif

Hope everyone is doing fine here.

Hi um sorry for not using the format as my intention is to ask a question.

My question is how much can a diploma level welder make in a month as a freshgrad?
Im currently studying Engineering Technology in Welding and im planning on working for a year after i graduate to get some experience before continuing my degree.

Thanks for the answers in advance.  biggrin.gif
EDIT : By any chance any seasoned welding engineers/inspectors stumble upon my reply, recommendations for what welding certificates to go for is highly appreciated.

You don't even bother about degree when you're a O&G undersea welder.
Easily you can get more than 20k.

If the Caribbean region means Bermuda, then USD 72K is just peanuts. I would think around USD 150-200K would be about right to live comfortably there. I personally would not consider anything less than USD 300K for a position in Bermuda.
