It depends on what field you are specialising in. But generally I think it trends around 5-12k.

Field as in? And that salary with my current qualifications or after gaining a few years of experience?

I think it's fine. Which country specifically do you work in? I assume you got your degree overseas, and your first company is not Malaysian based.

LOL... 7k for fresh grad in project support? Maybe if you work outside of Malaysia.
*
Fresh grads in Malaysia hardly gets anything more than RM4k if I'm not mistaken. Even in big banks, since banking now is not as profitable as few years back. Been cutting headcount, giving out VSS and all that.

Why not? He got his master overseas and works in MnC bank. @Mundane can get >6k with overseas degree + 1yr exp. Not sure his work is project management or project support though.
*
Not saying it's impossible, but the ones I heard that got RM7k, is on their second bank, after jumping ship from GLC fund. RM7k as fresh is possible, but not common.

OK pay for someone my age, but I feel the role I'm in is integral to the company. Yet those around with more exp get paid much better for equivalent (sometimes less!) contribution.
How can I fight for better pay knowing I'm not "experienced" but am doing the job very well with minimal supervision and guidance?
*
You get paid handsomely bro! I guess it's those soft skills abd experience you pick up along the way. To get better pay its either yoy jump ship or get promoted. If you can learn so much, might as well stay there and prepare to jump ship later.

That's not bad, I only reached 4k after 5 years. Thankfully I learnt from my mistakes and hit 5 figures not long after that. I won't be surprised if you hit it sooner than I did. So don't worry too much about it.
*
What sort of mistakes did you learn before hitting those 5 figures?

I guess which field also quite important isn't it? I am not from those really niche market. I am currently in marketing field. Hard to hit that kind of number unless I got promoted as manager or something. :/

There's some truth in what you said. But then again, keep hustling, there's always reward for those who deserves it. You'll never know your own luck.

Employment Level : Vice President
Experience before joining : More than 10 years
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Master’s + Fellow

Actually this is not the best offer I received. Another insurance company in Boston offers me more, but I turned them down because money is not my main concern. The scopes and responsibilities of the position are more important, the potential for future opportunities in NYC is way better.

Something I find interesting in this post is that some people here say they are Executive/Sr. Executive level, and I start wondering do we have a different definition of what Executive means. Executive level in my understanding is people above me, probably earning millions a year, with at least an Executive VP title. And I don’t make this up, if you go to global recruiters hiring Executive level people, they are looking for at least USD 300-500k base plus all sort of bonuses/stocks which can stack up to million.
*
May I knoww whether you started in Malaysia or has it always been overseas for you? Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Actuarial in Malaysia is not so competitive, but are the long term opportunities worthwhile?

hey everyone

i'm a fresh engineering grad and i'm about to sign a contract at this co. when i applied, i put low expected salary but after comparing with my peers, i believe that i should get higher. can negotiate?

(already got the offer, not yet sign. also, dont worry about the type/reputation/size of company, i'm just asking about the situation) thks
*
Fresh grads would find it hard to negotiate, especially in your case when everything has been finalised.

thanks. not demanding but after comparing i genuinely think/know i deserve it. think it'll be harder if i request for increment after i join right?
do you have any suggestion.....
*
Yes, I agree with you. To depend on increment would take ages. The best would be negotiating on your starting pay. However, I'm just saying that for your case specifically, would be quite hard to negotiate since it's all finalised. But then again, you can try and if you manage to convince them, you might get it. Otherwise, just stay there for quite a bit, and jump ship afterwards, better than rely on your increment.

and the number of Tom Dick and Harry who pass all three papers?

The question was not about passing, but about the eligibility to sit for it. Of course passing is not easy, otherwise would defeat the purpose of the credibility in taking that that exam.
