Are the seri series jointly developed by developers and pkns? If it's pkns then it could be internal pkns units. Say only rent from owners but tbh how many owners are willing to rent to refugees and put their investment at such a huge risk?

I read with interest several posts that has come up in this FB channel about our new neigbours here - the Syrian refugees.

There were several concerns that have been expressed about the move.

The Syrian refugees that have been brought in was screened  at the refugee camp in Lebanon prior to entering Malaysia

Health & security screening is one of the priority checkpoint in the program. The government had done security background checks on these refugees.

IMARET is one of the NGOs that are involved in the Task Force together with our government.

The ultimate aim of this refugee program is to empower them to be able to be independent, self sustainable & to care for themselves - this will include a collective move from the government & NGOs to aid them in terms of education & employment.

On healthcare:disease outbreaks are highly associated with refugees displacement & poor condition of the refugee camps. (pls refer to the CDC post)

When we bring the refugees into a controlled safe environment and a clean home, we can ensure disease monitoring to be better & treatment can be given if there is a need.

The Task Force also had come out with a plan to ensure healthcare access for these people are taken care of.

The Government had allocated a seed fund for this program and this is also boosted by the corporate and public donations.

In relation to the expressed concern about whether or not the refugees will cause a rise in the nation's crime rate: I would like to draw your attention to this report in 2014 that stated crimes that are committed by foreigners in the country are 11% from the overall crimes.

The Kementerian Dalam Negeri is very much involved in this program and surely they will take note of the prevention methods as well as monitoring.

Crime knows no race/colour or religion.
The purity of the heart and mind depends on the person not on his nationality/race/religion.

Another thing of note,

I am sure all of us are aware that newspapers are similar to social media, tabloids and television.

Everything that has been reported need to be taken with a pinch of salt and to be verified.

As we have all experienced, even the seasoned newswriters can commit a mistake.

The way that things are portrayed in news need to be taken objectively
Such news cause impact collectively on the socio-psychological mindset of the people.
News Reporters must have a conscience prior to producing a report.

These refugees are previously professionals or working adults who have families.

They were doctors, lawyers, bakers, teachers, business person etc just like you and me.

Whatever that has happened in Syria can happen in any parts of the world including Malaysia.

In future, if things take a bad turn, we may find ourselves on a boat seeking refuge in another country.

Let us be part of the Positive Change for the world.
If the world is going crazy, is it justified for us to just stand by and watch?
