OK, checked MBB online. The "profit" is in, shown as "Credit FD Int". I calculated the amt given, it is 4%, as declared for first 6 mths. rclxms.gif Calculated for 31 days for/over Oct month. nod.gif

Maybe others can check theirs later. biggrin.gif

Now looks like can put in more eggs there ! rclxm9.gif

After some calculation, worth to terminate my CIMB conventional one 4.35% placed on Monday and go to OCBC. Lose some but gain back RMx00. Not bad deal. But though can also terminate the one I placed on Tuesday, Islamic one, but keep there for security sake and monthly interest. rclxms.gif

Wow, really doing this FD musical chair this week ! rclxub.gif

Take out from UOB, moved to CIMB on Monday for the conventional 12 mth 4.35%. Then today terminate it and moved to OCBC 12 mth 4.5% ! Though "lose" interest for 3 days, but still gain RMX50 !! rclxm9.gif

But kept the CIMB Islamic 12 mth 4.35% placed on Tuesday as it gives monthly interest. biggrin.gif Though could also have terminated this one but decided to keep it as part of diversification in banks. brows.gif Getting trolley bag also for the member get member program of CIMB PB. biggrin.gif

Also introduced 2 more OCBC Premier Banking for relatives. RM300 X2 for the introduction. rclxms.gif

I terminated my FD placed on Monday also. The bigger the amount, the more "gain" you get from the effort (petrol, time etc). You have to do the calculation to see the loss vs gains ! biggrin.gif

I think it depends on the person, if the gain is < certain amt, I may not do it. But it depends on each person. biggrin.gif

Thanks for your speedy reply. Went to RhB, but was too late. Bank closd.  Walked over to Ocbc, was told promo rate
6 months 4.3%
12 months 4.5%

Signed up the document ready for Monday placement. Promo ends Dec.
Ocbc is best rate so far.
*
Earlier you asked about RHB 3 mths rate, so I tot you are going for short term. Now changed to OCBC 12 mth ? biggrin.gif

I have even terminated my FD with CIMB (12 mth 4.35%) and moved to OCBC on 5/11, lose 3 days interest but still worth it due to the amt involved. rclxms.gif

QUOTE(leo_kiatez @ Nov 7 2015, 09:26 AM)

I placed both 6 months and 12 months. Last months have placed 2 years on Ambank and 12 months UOB. Thinking of having some shorter months to spread out. Still didnt see any stunning RM inside Ocbc  cry.gif
*
The OCBC 12 mth 4.5% is the best so far. Though I did have AmBank 2 yrs 4.6%, 6 mths 4.25% (with the 20" trolley bag rclxms.gif ). I did have MBSB and MBB 4.5% also. But now with OCBC 4.5% coming out, it is the best one with PIDM (though I don't really care too much about it).

Your standard is too high, OCBC PB centre new with young leng lui's inside there. drool.gif I was there again on Thursday for the 12 mth 4.5% FD. The decoration is GREAT, relaxing. I just received RM300 for PB Member get Member program. Signed up 2 more, expecting RM600 in say 3 months' time. drool.gif rclxms.gif biggrin.gif

I went to Ambank on the last day offer on 20 inch luggage bag, was told only first 500, non guarantee, thus didnt place for 6 months instead go for 2 years. Ocbc parking place is alway a headache
*
I placed on the first day and was told very high chances of getting it. biggrin.gif On the same day I placed some more 2 yrs one also (before that already placed for the 2 yrs one).

OCBC PB centre free parking is lousy. Hard to get in as limited space. So have to pay for RM2 per hr parking outside. shakehead.gif

Went to BR to cancel FD. One of the FD was just one month from date of auto renewal, have been prepared to lose the 1 mth interest. Wow except I was given the 1 mth 3.4% interest ! Good ! Did RENTAS at RM5.30 (Almighty Magician got free RENTAS !!)

Moved to AmBank at 2 yrs 4.6%. Still love the 4.6% vs OCBC 4.5%. Another reason is AmBank location nearer. Lazy to go to town and then parking problem again !

Heard that AmBank 6 mth 4.25% 20" trolley bag deal already filled up after 3 days, i.e. Wed last week ! Anyway I have placed mine on Monday last week. rclxms.gif

Below BR Dream FD, min 20k with chance to win some prizes:

nothing to lol  brows.gif tongue.gif

br policy to give interest when fd terminated prematurely. unkle goat forgot about this, may be he never terminate before maturity.

br rate not competitive. doh.gif
*
Hahaha, you are right. Last time Almighty Magician (should be him I think) have mentioned on BR FD pre-mature withdrawal we will still get the board rate or something like that. So this is my first time to terminate an FD which has been auto renewed. Today exactly 1 mth on the auto renewal date.

Anyway good that BR is giving interest even though just 1 mth after the auto renewal. rclxms.gif I have been prepared to lose the 1 mth interest as I can gain it back from the 4.6% given by AmBank. biggrin.gif

Their rate not competitive any more ! Their 4.3% would have been good if not for CIMB, OCBC, AmBank coming out with more attractive rates ! thumbup.gif

News mentioned US likely to increase the interest rate and expect ringgit to depreciate further. If US increases interest rate, BNM may follow. No wonder Ocbc promo till end of Dec. Let's see what will be UOB strategy to counter Ocbc
*
Even if BNM increase the rate, following US, the FD promo rate may not see corresponding increase. Unless the OPR increase % is substantial. The current rate of 4.5 and 4.6% already quite attractive.

The safest bet may be the 1 year 4.5% offered by OCBC.

UOB started the month by 4.25%, 0.05% increase over last month. With OCBC up the game to 4.5%, would be interesting to see what action UOB will take. biggrin.gif

I also have MBB and MBSB's 4.5%. That was before OCBC & AmBank's 4.5%/4.6%. biggrin.gif

most ppl not comfortable with maybank's GIA-i 4.5% p.a. without guaranteed return of capital & profit, and as well as no PIDM coverage.
*
On Sunday in the Star newspaper, MBB came out with a good explanation on their GIA-i. One of the option is add on of the monthly interest into the capital. At the time of placement I did not know they have this option. So mine is probably same as yours monthly interest into SA. biggrin.gif
