QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Nov 17 2015, 09:25 PM) I also received the notice. Luckily last week Monday I withdraw one FD with 1 month auto renew and received the 1 month interest. I guess BR going to be less attractive to more and more people already. Their FD rate is no longer competitive with the big guys offering better rates than them. |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Nov 18 2015, 09:37 AM) that's the little It is sad that we cannot tell how the FD promo is going ! me same like wil-i-am, fund locked for 2yrs FD. my fd is with Affin at 4.38% p.a. rate. maturing later 2016. but last year during placement, it was the best deal. if we know FD promo reaches 4.5% p.a. for 12mth placement, i would have put 1yr placement liao of course if i know the future, i'd play toto/4d as well already. I have placed for AmBank 5 yr 4.55% in Oct. Now AmBank 2 yr 4.6%. Last year just placed for 4% FD, then months later, went up to 4.25%/4.5% (SCB). Well, I think we have to take what is best at the time. Neither can we sit and wait for the best rate to come. Losing interest. Another point is FD promo rate and OPR increase may not be proportionate as I mentioned earlier. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Nov 18 2015, 11:52 AM |

I am waiting for the luggage. AmBank also has the 2 yrs 4.6% promo. Both promo until end of Nov. Star newspaper still has the advert running but showed bag fully redeemed. QUOTE(kmarc @ Nov 22 2015, 08:37 AM) I have FD in Ambank that matured last week and planning to put into promotional FD tomorrow. Can I confirm whether Ambank will allow me to use it as fresh fund if I dump in some more money? Say 30k FD (Ambank) matured and I dump in another 30k for Ambank promotion FD. Can consider "fresh"? QUOTE(kmarc @ Nov 22 2015, 09:20 AM) I see. So if got 30k FD, then my chances are better if I put additional 50k? I just don't want to waste my time and petrol to go there and find out I can't do it. RHB allowed me to top up just few hundreds to matured FD to get FD promo rate. UOB at one time asked me to top up 10k to matured FD to get FD promo. But now seems to be not allowing that.Shucks. Was just thinking, instead of 30k + 30k = 60k, what if I bring a 90k cheque to put FD and IBFT the 30k to other banks? Few factors to consider. No hard and fast rules. Depends on the branch as well, some branch may short of FD targets. Call up the bank to enquire esp if you know someone there. But 30k top up sounds good esp the min for the AmBank FD promo is 10k only. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Nov 22 2015, 09:35 AM |

QUOTE(safilo @ Nov 23 2015, 04:03 PM) I saw in the online OCBC account that it showed "Withdrawal" function for FD's. I have FD placed OTC. So can still withdraw through that function ? Did not dare to click the "Withdrawal", just saw that and can select which FD cert to withdraw. UOB allow us to terminate FD placed OTC using the online account. |

QUOTE(nbi @ Nov 23 2015, 10:13 AM) Thanks ! Affin has made the FD war more intense with this 15 mth 4.6% rate ! I will go for this next week ! QUOTE(nikita zuleica @ Nov 23 2015, 03:53 PM) QUOTE(JayChouYEE @ Nov 23 2015, 03:55 PM) QUOTE(sandkoh @ Nov 23 2015, 04:23 PM) Last Thursday, have placed for RHB 3 mth at 4.2%. Don't think they changed it to 4.25%. The 15 mth one as sandkoh said is a step-up with effective rate of 4.4%. |

QUOTE(gsc @ Nov 24 2015, 12:09 AM) I have overlooked my HL FD on maturity date by a few days. Went to HL to terminate FD because it was renewed to board rate. The counter officer asked why withdrawal....told her Ocbc 12 months 4.5%. She said if I can top up a little bit, she can change my FD from board rate to 12 months promo rate of 4.2%. Wow, HL is very flexible on fresh fund. Told her no...Still prefer Ocbc even though didn't see leng lui there Young man So when OCBC offered 4.5%, I went there. Now Affin has 4.6%, I am going to Affin next Monday. |
