Assuming you're gaming on 1080p.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1318
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4) - RM 486
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 196
Sapphire R9 390X 8GB GDDR5 Tri-X OC - RM 1945
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 209
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 363
Corsair Carbide Spec-01 - RM 240

Total: RM 4972 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Non-oc build packs with more performance.

Skipped AMD CPU build suggestion due to aged platform (not worth to invest anymore for gaming purpose now).

Hi guys.

What is the normal temp for graphic and CPU for average load?

Will it be ok at the same time for CPU around 45C for 75% CPU load and 40C for graphic card (running bluestack game)?

FSP modular at RM 200+? You mean Hyper M? It is semi modular, not fully though.

Ok so they're semi modular. Any idea if they're any good?

i7 holds extra 4 threads (virtual cores), performance between i5 and i7 isn't big in gaming if the game isn't coded to use the extra threads of i7, but for workstation software, normally they take advantage of the extra threads.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1328
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 289
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 382

may i ask, which one is better for rendering software consider they use the same GPU

i7 + HDD
i5 + SSD

coz a friend of mine was recommended to get the i5 + SSD as the rendering speed is almost the same with i7 + HDD, or i7 will always be the best for rendering software ?

SSD improves rendering speed? It does speed up the booting speed of the rendering software but it doesn't help in improving the time needed to finish the render, it all depends on CPU and other parts (RAM, GPU etc.).

HDD is fast enough to load the necessary elements into the rendering software during the rendering process, no point getting a large SSD but being hold back by the CPU (not fast enough to process all the data transferred into the system, end up piling up in the RAM).

i7 is a better and safer pick.

Can someone tell me, as ppl are saying that R9 390 is more powerful than GTX980 and have a bigger Vram with a cheaper price tag
but not so many ppl are getting R9 390 as their gpu and instead they get GTX980 as their GPU sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Normally we compare R9 390 = GTX970 and R9 390X = GTX980.

R9 390 is almost same price as GTX970 (depend on the brand you are getting) with double VRAM but higher power consumption (need a more decent PSU which increases the total cost needed to build a rig).

R9 390X is around RM 500 cheaper than GTX980 (still depend on the brand you are getting).

It is very subjective TBH, Nvidia fanboy will always prefer Nvidia, same goes to AMD.

Some people go for Nvidia due to lower power consumption (can get mid end PSU to pair with, reduce total cost) and works better with GameWorks games, not all games are using > 4GB VRAM at the moment so 8GB might not be very useful for 1080p gaming.

Some people think that 8GB is more future proof (can tahan few years) so they go for AMD path.

[Budget] RM8,000

[Purpose] Workstation and gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] only my mouse lol

[Monitor resolution] 24" 1080p 120hz?

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Adobe programs for design and video/photo edit. Lots of rendering.

[Personal preferences] NviDia 980ti and dual sticks for ram (e.g. 2x 8gb).* pls advice on whether if I should go single or dual sticks

[Location] Kuala Lumpur /Subang Jaya

Since I'm transferring from laptop to desktop, I don't have any kb or speakers lol. Can include mechanical KB . Speakers optional as I have headphones. Is a sound card necessary? Many thanks in advance!

Corsair Strafe MKB - RM 469

Total: RM 7986 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

16GB single stick DDR4 is quite rare in Malaysia so just for go for 8GB x 2.

Keyboard selection is too subjective, you can opt for cheaper Ducky brand to reduce cost if you wish.

Speaker isn't included as there are too many options out there, 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 etc.

On-board sound card is sufficient for normal user unless you are an audiophile, cheap dedicated sound card isn't going to give you significant sound quality improvement so just stay with on-board sound card for the time being and buy a high end one when you need it/have money to buy in the future.

Since you are coming from laptop, most likely you need WiFi card unless you are going for wired connection, you can add one if needed (TP-LINK TL-WN881ND, RM 58).
