today the ABS fault light came on when i started the car
any idea how much it cost to fix this?

guys, just to share some info..
i just done stage 1 remap on my 408T (Year 2013 model)..
So after the remap, the tuner felt that low end torque still very bad and he tried to troubleshoot further (poorer than those in limp/safe mode - when you have CHECK status)
So during his troubleshooting, he found the latest error code to be "boost pressure bypass circuit exceeding or malfunction" when pushing the car hard..
Prior to remap, regardless how hard pushing the car, wont get that fault code but after remap easily can make the error code pop up.
So the BOV (Blow Off Valve) is broken, disintegrated.. thus causing the low end torque to be bad.. so after replacing it, the power is there...

In summary, stock mapping too conservative thus lots of parts even if it is broken, are not showing the error code during troubleshooting

Btw, all history should be viewable, there is a log thus should be able to track what was the error though it is not there now and when the error happened.

This GFB DV+ is one of the first part i got when i started modding. My car is 2014 and the GFB has been working well since then. Really good to invest on one of it. Now if you wondering which is better, the GFB or the Forge. Both works the same. Difference is GFB is recirculating and Forge is vent to atmosphere. The forge you will get a louder blow off sound. While the GFB you get a whistling sound. Another difference is, with the GFB, the pick up is slightly more responsive when you let go throttle and throttle again while in boost. You can DIY install this part also.

GFB DV+ needs to add on to the stock solenoid right?
Considering my stock unit hold thing disintegrated, thus that solenoid needs to be replaced as well right?
Btw, need stock solenoid seems to be different in design in terms of the plunger based on the following photo.

I bought mine from GFB directly back then la. I think they have their own ebay profile too. You can check. Maybe more expensive now coz currency difference. So maybe those shop that still got stock might be cheaper coz they order by bulk.
As for the solenoid, i am not sure yours is rosak or not. But usually that part is damn tough. Only the front part is very brittle. The installation is very easy. Just connect the solenoid to the DV+ and then pasang back to the compressor housing. Kao Tim.

TOUCH WOOD.  IF is the solenoid rosak, you have to change it anyways. Then the current broken valve you also cant use. So might as well replace it with the DV+ or Forge. Conclusion......No need think....Just buy the DV+ or Forge....

This one i consider it as a precautions/reliability upgrade ler. Nothing to do with performance mods. So not so racun.

BUT............If you kasi mod intake plus this DV+....The bunyi is shiokkkkkk....

Bro, a defective BOV can potentially cause damage to turbo charger. As part of prevetive maintenance i'm going to have my turbo charger and associated components strip inspected at 100kkm.

Atm i'm targetting Renautech for this work along with engine decarbo,at the same time. Is there a turbo charger specialist for this kind of work?

Those 2 shop is good and experience with Pugs. They in the market for long time. So they are very familiar with all Pugs issues.

You can add another to the list. Try SPV Automotive. They are participants in the MSF Race series. They use their racing and track experience to advise on any mods that you would like to do. Not base on product adverts. They work on all sorts of car as well. The owner drives Pug too...So Pug issues and repairs is no issues for him.

I've always kept my cars stock. As for upgrades, yes certainly if it is and improved quality item. Especially if the item prolongs service life! That's why I'm searching for turbo specialist. These guys will know the latest, instead of just rebuilding with same or original parts!

Eg. I've change to improved quality turbo inlet hose & improved coolant housing! I changed a China made gear knob. Now that has lasted 6years and still looks good. The original brokeup in 2 years.....hahaha!

Both Bros Auto & Renautech do excellent work on Pugs. I was very impressed with a BOT turbo on 407 and mods done on 308 at Bros Auto! Think if I had come to know Bros Auto before I bought my Pug, would have got a 407 and BOT it with them.

I'm not sure, but although Renautech may not be into preformance mods, they'll be able to advice on upgrades to improve service life! So far very happy with their service. Very good work and recommend to any Pug owner having issues that the monkeys at SC can't solve!
