QUOTE
A Boeing AH-64 Apache helicopter from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade "Screaming Eagles" based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky was on a routine training mission when it went down about 12 miles south of Fort Campbell. The helicopter caught fire after it crashed.

A four-wheel drive mini-pumper from the St. Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department doused the fire.

Royal Thai Army new ATMOS 155mm SPH.

South Korea do offer a truck based SPH, which is essentially a KH-179 155mm howitzer mated with Kia KM500 chassis. They would essentially adapt the EVO105 concept to bigger 155mm howitzer.

President Jokowi rejects new helicopter purchase

Kamis, 3 Desember 2015 19:23 WIB - 0 Views

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has decided to reject the proposed purchase of a helicopter as its price is too high in view of the current financial conditions.

Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said on Thursday that the President has rejected the proposed purchase of the helicopter as the existing helicopter can still be used.

The Indonesian government had earlier reported that it was still studying a plan to buy a helicopter for the President.

"I do not want to speculate. But, we will see whether the existing presidential helicopter needs to be replaced or not," Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan said on Sunday after seeing off President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana, who were leaving for a visit to Paris, France.

The plan will be discussed again when the President returns after attending the Paris Climate Change Conference next week.

The media had earlier reported that Indonesian Air Force will buy three helicopters for very very important persons (VVIPs) under the 2015-2019 Air Force strategic plan.

"For the time being, we will use the strategic planning budget to buy three helicopters for the VVIP Air Squadron," stated Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Agus Supriatna at a gathering with the media at the Wisma Angkasa building in South Jakarta on Nov. 24.

He emphasized that the purchase of the VVIP helicopters for the President, Vice President, state officials, and guests of the country will prioritize safety and comfort.

The plan to buy the three AW101 modern and sophisticated helicopters is purely the result of a study conducted by the VVIP Air Squadron, which was further evaluated by the Military (TNI) Headquarters.

"This is the result of our study, and after a thorough assessment, I decided to buy the VVIP helicopters," the Air Force Chief of Staff confirmed.

Agus added that depending on the budget, the helicopters will include security features, such as a bulletproof body, anti-jamming devices, and anti-missile systems.

He expressed hope that the first AW101 helicopter would arrive before April 9, 2016.(*)

Turkey does have the right of blockade, in war time. So what it does now practically mean it is in war with the party blocked. Let's see if Turkey will declare war. But it mostly won't. Conventions and international laws can be throw away if you have big stick. US and UK are very familiar with that.

Chechen leader promises revenge to IS militants for executing alleged Russian citizen

user posted image

QUOTE
MOSCOW, December 3 /TASS/. Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, has pledged to kill IS militants who executed his fellow Chechen, allegedly a citizen of Russia, for working for Russian security services.

"The Chechens know and remember it, and they will not leave it unpunished," Kadryov told journalists on Thursday. "We are going to send them to glory and give them a one-way ticket," the Chechen leader clarified.

"The man is a Chechen who was beheaded. There are confirmed facts, which I do not believe, that he used to work for someone. Judging from how he spoke and sat, I think that someone had just set him up," Kadyrov said.

He promised to study the execution video.
QUOTE
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov was greatly impressed by President Putin’s annual state of the nation address to the Russian Federal Assembly (parliament) on Thursday.

He said that Putin had touched upon the most urgent issues ranging from fight against terrorism to social problems. "Being our national leader, he focused on all problem issues," Kadyrov added.

"I was impressed," the Chechen leader concluded.

Ukraine/Crimea/Syria, they are all related. Take a look at the chronology and you will know. It's a big game played amongst the players (you can count with one hand). The rest are chips and pieces. The problem here is some of the pieces/chips have their own plan or they think themselves are the players and do not quite play to the order of the real players. When not handled properly, things could spiral in the direction which non of the players wants. History tells that something will have to happen to correct the course. Putin had an extensive 1-to-1 with Obama (Despite Erdogan asked to meet, he didn't give a fuck. And since Erdogan wants to hide behind Nato, Putin speak directly to the defacto Nato: USA) and the American official statement later pretty much confirm what many have predicted. Erdogan is an ambitious man but he is playing a dangerous game.

"If somebody thought that after committing a treacherous war crime -- the killing of our people -- it would be possible to get away with mere restrictions on the trade of tomatoes, or some other restrictions ... then they are grossly mistaken," Putin said.
"We shall remind them many times about what they've done, and they will regret what they've done for a long time," he said. "We know what needs to be done."

INTERNATIONAL MILITARY REVIEW – SYRIA, DEC. 3, 2015

On December 1, the Free Syrian Army’s central command agree to a permanent ceasefire and evacuation for the remaining rebels inside of Al-Wa’er with the Governor of Homs – Talal Al-Barazi. The evacuation includes two phases:
• 1st is to allow humanitarian aid to any remaining civilians living inside the district
• 2nd is the transportation of the 600 rebel fighters from Al-Wa’er to the Idlib Governorate. The plan is supposed to take about two months. After this, the Syrian Government will be in full control of the city of Homs. The agreement has become possible due to a strategic initiative taken by the pro-government forces after the start of the Russian military operations in Syria.

Earlier, SouthFront: Analysis & Intelligence has noted that despite the terrorists’ counter-attacks, the Syrian Arab Army and its allies supported by the Russian warplanes, intelligence assistance and material support has a significant edge in a fire power and the command.

ISIS claimed control of al-Kafrah in a statement and are moving towards Azaz. If ISIS takes Azaz it will extend the ISIS control of bordering areas which allows greater access to smuggling routes for potential recruits and arms. It will also break the Army of Conquest military operations room, which includes Al Nusra, supply routes to the Aleppo city.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has presented evidences of the Turkish involvement in the ISIS oil business. It includes photos and videos of oil delivery convoys passing the border between Syria and Turkey and information about the routes of oil smuggling from Syria and Iraq to Turkey. There are three main oil routes:
1.The western route leads to the Turkish ports in the Mediterranean
2.The northern — to Patma oil refinery
3.The eastern — to Dzhazri transfer point
The town of Dier ez-Zor is one of the largest centers of oil extraction. The delivery route runs from Eastern Syria to the Batman refinery in Turkey. The size of the illegal oil trade is impressive.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he’ll resign if Moscow can prove the Turkish participation in ISIS oil trade. Here it’s.

Iraq will not welcome foreign troops into its territory, considers any presence to be 'hostile'

user posted image

Iraq considers any country sending ground combat forces into its territory a "hostile act" and has not requested such a deployment, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said Thursday.

The US has announced that it will deploy around 100 special forces personnel to Iraq to fight the Islamic State jihadist group here and in neighbouring Syria, while two American senators have proposed tripling the number of US troops in the country.

Iraq "will consider any country sending ground combat forces a hostile act and will deal with it on this basis," Abadi said in a statement.

Baghdad "did not request any side... to send ground forces to Iraq," he said.

It is Abadi's strongest statement yet on the issue of ground combat forces, after he previously said that Iraq did not need them.

It was unclear how or if his remarks would impact the planned US deployment, part of efforts to combat IS, which overran large parts of Iraq last year.

The presence of American ground forces is a contentious issue in Iraq, where the United States fought a nearly nine-year war, and it is politically expedient for Abadi to distance himself from the deployment.

US To Support S. Korea’s KF-X Stealth Fighter Program Amid Confusion On Tech Transfer

Source : Our Bureau ~ Dated : Thursday, December 3, 2015 @ 07:51 AM

Amid confusion over denial of four critical technology transfers for the KF-X program US has promised to support Republic of Korea (ROK) in its stealth fighter program.

“The U.S. continues to support the Republic of Korea’s defense programs and priorities through the transfer of many of our most sensitive defense technologies. We seek to support the KF-X indigenous fighter program to the maximum extent possible,” department spokesperson Katina Adams was quoted as saying by Yonhap News agency Wednesday.

The US state department approved 21 technologies and denied four technologies that include integrated systems for active electronically scanned array radar, electro-optical targeting pod, infrared search and track and radio frequency jammer last year citing national technology protection policy.

Both the nations agreed on setting up a working group to facilitate the $15.5 billion KF-X program. South Korea plans to unveil the first KF-16 warplane in a decade and deploy 120 units by 2032.

“The U.S. government is in discussions with Lockheed Martin to address ROK areas of concern. We will continue to work closely with Lockheed Martin throughout this process to ensure continued support to the KF-X program,” Adams said.

Adams said nothing had been decided. “Programs like the KF-X are large and complex.
