Two Zambia Air Force officers are in hospital after the helicopter they were in crashed in Gwembe district, Southern Province.

According to sources, there were five people on board and no one died.

“There was a serious ZAF helicopter crash yesterday. Two ZAF and army generals are admitted to hospital. The two have been subjected to multiple traumatic injuries and the rest are okay ,” sources said.

Sources named the injured as Brigadier General William Sikazwe and Colonel Webster Simwanda.

Sources said the five were on a ZAF AB205 helicopter.

The joint operation of the law enforcement agencies on elimination of Nazarzoda's group is continuing. In total, about 150 people were arrested and killed during the operations.

The criminal probes were launched against Nazarzoda and his close supporter, Colonel of the Ministry of Defense Dzhunaydullo Umarov. They are accused of high treason, sabotage, terrorism and creation of an extremist community.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A Mi-24 Hind attack helicopter crash-landed on Wednesday at an airfield in Central Russia, no injuries have been reported so far, the Defense Ministry said.

"On September 16, around 08.30 p.m. Moscow time [17:30 GMT], a Mi-24 helicopter made a crash-landing at the Dvoevka airfield in the Smolensk region after a training flight," the ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, an investigation has been opened into the causes of the incident.

Yesterday, 17th Sep. 2015, a SyAAF Su-22M-4 operating from T4 airbase was shot down over Jazal oil field area located around 40km to the north east of the said airbase. ISIS media reported shooting down the aircraft claimed as 'MiG-21' which is apparently not.

The plane was apparently shot down and crashed. Pictures of the wreckage have emerged on social media.

The jet had been deployed after an aircraft was detected violating Venezuelan airspace. The aircraft apparently came from Colombia.

A Venezuelan air force jet has crashed after it was deployed to the northwestern region of the country to verify information that an aircraft had entered Venezuelan airspace, the ministry of defense reported Thursday.

“At approximately 21:07 hours of Sept. 17, 2015, an airplane Sukhoi-30 of the air force has crashed with pilots Cap. Ronald Ramirez and Cap. Jackson Garcia on board,” the Minister of Defense Vladimir Padrino Lopez said in a statement.

The military official said that the country's defense systems was activated after an illegal aircraft was detected entering “through the northwestern region of the country toward the border line with Colombia.”

Padrino Lopez explained that the region where the plane illegally entered Venezuelan airspace is known for being utilized by drug traffickers.

PTV News showed interview of a Pakistan Army helicopter pilot. The injured pilot Major Saqib interviewed in Combined Military Hospital (CMH) informed the news channel that after receiving an order around 9:15 AM their helicopter departed from Peshawar Airport to recover casualties from Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Camp Badaber that was attacked by terrorists in the morning today.

The helicopter was able to land at Camp Badaber but after takeoff its tail section/tail rotor received bullet hits from the ground. The helicopter went into spin and crashed/crash landed.

The pilot said that he shut down engine to prevent helicopter from catching fire and also removed unconscious co-pilot from the crashed helicopter.

SARGODHA: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilotless aircraft crashed early on Friday in the fields of Jahanabad village in Shahpur tehsil. However, no casualties were reported.

Sources said that the drone was on a routine flight when it encountered a technical fault and crashed. The PAF officials and police reached the scene of the crash, 30km from here, and cordoned off the area to initiate a probe.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (NNS) -- At approximately 10 a.m. MDT Sept. 19, a T-6A Texan II tandem-seat, turboprop trainer, assigned to Training Wing 4, based at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas, crashed in Las Cruces, New Mexico, after the pilots conducted a controlled ejection during a routine training flight.

The two pilots ejected safely and were evaluated for minor injuries.

The names of the pilots are being withheld for privacy reasons. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

Kazakhstan's Defense Ministry says at least four soldiers drowned when four armored vehicles sank during a military exercise on the Caspian coast.

The ministry said in a statement that the accident occurred Friday as the nation's military forces were practicing a landing near the Caspian city of Aktau. During the exercise, four BTR-80 armored personnel carriers were swept by a high waves and sank.

Kazakhstan's Defense Minister Imangali Tasmagambetov ordered a probe.

Yemeni armed forces have brought downed a Saudi Apache helicopter near the city of Ma’rib in central Yemen as Riyadh continues with its deadly aggression against its southern neighbor, reports say.

Yemeni military sources confirmed on Sunday that army soldiers backed by popular committees had downed a Saudi Apache helicopter after firing a missile in the al-Safer area.

Reports say the Yemeni army and volunteer forces also launched counterattacks on Saudi soldiers, inflicting serious damage on them.

Earlier, 10 people were reported killed and more than 50 others wounded in an attack by Saudi warplanes in Yemen’s Ibb Province.

It came a day after a total of 100 Yemenis were killed in Saudi airstrikes on the northwestern Yemeni provinces of Sana’a, Sa’ada and Ma’rib

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) – A Navy fighter jet crashed near a California military base Monday, but the pilot ejected and safely parachuted to the ground, authorities said.

No one else was aboard the F/A-18 Super Hornet that crashed near Lemoore Naval Air Station shortly before 4 p.m.

The pilot was in good condition, Navy spokesman Marc Calero said.

The plane went down in a dirt field about three miles from the base, California Highway Patrol Officer Scott Jobinger said.

A fire from the crash was extinguished and no roads in the area were closed, Jobinger said.

When the pilot hit the ground, he walked over to paramedics, said Chief Bill Lynch of Kings County Fire Department, which also responded to the crash, told the Hanford Sentinel newspaper.

Taipei, Sept. 22 (CNA) The military was continuing a search for two missing pilots Tuesday after their AT-3 Air Force Academy training aircraft lost contact with air traffic controllers earlier that day during a routine training flight.

The Huadong Defense Command said that a total of 60 servicemen would soon reach the area near the location where the aircraft was last seen on radar screens to search for them.

In addition to the ground search effort, the Air Force also deployed an EC225 rescue helicopter and an S-70C rescue chopper to search for the missing pilots and the aircraft, but as of press time, the search had proved unsuccessful.

Due to heavy cloud, the helicopters could not be flown at a low enough altitude to conduct search and rescue work, officials from the Air Force's Chiayi base said, adding that the helicopters had been recalled to the base.

The Air Force was expected to dispatch another S-70C the following morning to continue with the search effort, the officials said.

The Afghan Air Force (AAF) lost one of its newly delivered MD Helicopters Inc (MDHI) MD 530F Cayuse Warrior ('Jengi' [Warrior]) light attack platforms in a landing accident near Kabul, The New York Times (NYT) disclosed on 26 September.

The scout and close air support helicopter was recently destroyed after a tailwind tipped it over the edge of a mountain that it had landed on, the NYT quoted a senior AAF officer as saying. An Iraqi Army helicopter was reportedly shot down in the southern province of Salah al-Din, near the city of Tikrit.

A security source in Tikrit told Spanish news agency EFE that another helicopter managed to save the two crew members of the downed aircraft.

Six U.S. service members and five civilians were killed when a C-130J crashed shortly after midnight Friday local time at Jalalabad Airfield, Afghanistan, according to ta 455th Air Expeditionary Wing news release.

The names of those killed have not been released. The Defense Department does not publicly identify fatalities until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified.

ARUSHA, Tanzania, Oct.1 (Xinhua) -- Two soldiers with the Tanzania People's Defence Force (TPDF) died after a military plane crashed in the Indian Ocean on Thursday morning.

TPDF confirmed the incident saying the plane which was used for training crashed at around 9:30 a.m. local time and had two pilots who were Lieutenant Colonel Talkisiyo Bruno Ndongoro and Captain Gaudence Peter Hamis.

According to a statement issued by TPDF's communication unit, the two pilots lost the direction when they were coming from Silver Sand area of Bundya Island on the north-eastern coast of Dar es Salaam city.

TPDF said the source of the accident is engine fault and when the pilots discovered the problem it was too late to get out of the plane.

"Worse enough, the plane submerged into the ocean and the TPDF soldiers were on site to search for the bodies of dead pilots using military boats," the force said in statement, without divulging detailed information on the type of the plane that involved in the accident.
