the HU is bad because of the UI looks like our mobile UI. not really suitable for car use
if anyone would develop a launcher(not ROM) for the HU for free with your feedback and need, would you use it?
*
QUOTE(ALOOZA @ Sep 29 2015, 07:42 AM)
what kind of features?
*
I dont have the HU but my recommendations are:
1. Large icons for easy pressing while driving.
2. Android 4.0 for more app support.
3. No disabling wifi(when releasing handbrake or something).
4. Google maps bundled and several useful apps.
5. Remove all unnecessary bloatware.
6. Responsive.

You should be. Let them settle those problems before collecting your car again.

Btw want to ask, in the engine bay, where you check your Engine No there. Is it rusty-ish colour?
Can you guys take a look at yours and let me know? I'm scared if its rust.
*
QUOTE(vivakarna @ Oct 1 2015, 08:01 PM)
yeah me too. is it normal? Don't think much about it.
*
I am guessing there is some panel thing at the engine which is rusted. From what I was told, its cast iron.

Okay thanks for info. So looks like Type A or Type B doesn't matter. Still able to perform the remote tailgate release function.

At least yours both same type haha. Mine 1 Type A & the other Type B. Wonder if anyone else have different keyfobs or i'm the only one with two types of keyfob for 1 car lol.

Did you get your keys with the immobilizer code?

Hi,
Proton Iriz 1.3L Turbo uses a 6-speed MT. Was unable to know at what RPM's does the boost start coming in. They also told me that 1.3 drivers are probably gonna be unable to get an 'upgrade' option.

aiyo...do they say the price?
*
They didnt say the price but they did say its a known issue and they have came out with an improved version of it.

QUOTE(hahaha1989 @ Oct 4 2015, 08:24 AM)
Lol bro i don't think that's NOS
*
Im sure I did read the words "nitrous oxide" written on the tank at the front passenger area..

QUOTE(jasonhue @ Oct 4 2015, 12:05 PM)
issue found :

1. key cannot close
2. reverse sensor often rosak
4. Head unit lagging
5. weather strip easily comes off.
6. itu handbrake, while driving the light will suddenly appear. Its a sensor fault

anything to add above ?

considering to buy 2014 1.6 premium stock, any advice on it ?
*
1. Premium uses keyless entry so theres no key folding. This doesnt effect your choice.
2. If you get this problem then can send to SC and get it replaced for free. Proton acknowledged this problem saying that factory calibration make it over sensitive.
4. Cant do anything about it except replace with other ones.
5. Rare case.
6. Rare case.

WOW turbo 1.3 MT.. wait we 1.3 user doesn't have upgrade option? can't we just paid proton to add on turbo and new gearbox to upgrade it? can't?
and i wanna list all the things that i encounter (problem)
1. Rattling noise from (door/dashboard/steering/seatbelt and rear bonet?)
2. Sometimes hard to start the car, sometime to re-try to switch on the car few times thn the car will start
3. Sometimes screen will show low bet and sometimes it don't show
4. My driver mirror sometimes stuck, cant go up
5. car jerking(no matter hot or cold engine)
can all be fixed by going to sc or what?
*
QUOTE(babisotong @ Oct 4 2015, 09:12 PM)
I'm willing to spend money to get this upgrade.. please proton.. sell it !!!
*
If they do, I would like to see the price as well. I'm hoping that the minimum they would do is just turbo kit with all the electronics tuning. Changing gearbox is gonna be very expensive and not used to driving 6 speed MT. Not sure if theres anything to prevent u from entering R easily just incase instead of entering 1, i shift to R and back into people since I'm used to pushing gear all the way left then move up.

Took my car today and straight went to changed the tires to 185x60r14.....yokohama c-drive 2.......
Happy with this car and very stable on highways but need to get used to the CVT transmission.
Need some tips on the central locking....does it have beeping sound?
Thanks
*
No beeping sound. Gotta listen to the guns make the lock sound. If unsure just press lock button again. If it enters car finder then you know its lock.

QUOTE(C2KBAS2005 @ Oct 7 2015, 09:30 AM)
boot don't have light and plastic cover at the opening.......if we take or put things into the boot, i think will scratch the paint work

horn sound soft........some of my opinion on this car
*
1.3 Exec onwards have boot light at the left. Alternative is you can go to Sh@rty 5's shop to install boot light.

My sa wasap me just now that no 1 and 2 above will void warranty due to wire cutting.

He will source for no 3 and get back to me.
*
What people do to avoid is they use the O ring. That way no wire cutting. Just attach to battery.

QUOTE(twhong_91 @ Oct 7 2015, 06:08 PM)
Just received my car and drove it from Perak to Penang.

First impression
Good handling and sturdy
power is considered ok as it is a 1.3 engine, i believe 1.6 is even more powerful.
everything is good but for the radio, i set the volume to 3 but i turn it off and open again the volume is 6/7 again.

overall it is a very good car, value for money. so far no sound lol
*
manual has the way to set starting volume. The original volume is too loud especially when starting so I set it to 4.

mine has. Will make booking with SC and get everything done soon.

On the other hand, here's what Bosch (proton's vendor) supplies for the Proton Iriz:
The original car that went for the ANCAP crash test, got us 5 stars  brows.gif
**I actually tried opening the car doors, could open it**
Iriz's Electronic Stability Control(ESC) is by Continental:
In a nutshell, this car is basically equipped with German tech  cool2.gif
*
Those are parts of what Proton CTO told us(PICM) during the talk with Proton CTO.
Proton tries to ensure that during an accident even if car rolls, doors can be open. Therefore if you are trying to check on someone driving preve, suprima or iriz after an accident, try the doors. Dont forget that doors auto unlock during an accident.
Most of the Iriz takes tech from US and Germany. See here.
Proton has stopped following Japanese standards but switch to following German standards in terms of car safety, features and behaviors.

The talk by Proton CTO is still in this forum as a youtube link if you wanna watch. Search my posts around 12/9.

QUOTE(rigo3t @ Oct 9 2015, 12:15 AM)
Does anyone know of a good SC around the Puchong, Putrajaya, or Cyberjaya area? I'm 300 km from my first 1000 km service. I don't want to have to leave my car for a whole day. I used to have a Myvi and I remember my services could be completed in around two or three hours. Is this possible too with Proton?

I've heard a few Iriz owners saying that they've had to leave their cars for two days for simple little things. I have no complaints, sounds, rattles or anything but I want to take it for service soon and not end up without a car for a few days.
*
If basic service then it should be very fast. Some places allow u to request even for complementary car wash. If things that involves ratting and such probably need more time due to they need to find the source of noise and rectify it.

QUOTE(LordDenning @ Oct 9 2015, 06:38 AM)
do you guys inflate all 4 tyres evenly or front higher than rear?

e.g. 220kpa for all 4 wheels vs 220kpa for front & 210kpa for rear.
*
I follow the one at the door +10-20kpa. Also switch between 1-2 passenger to 4-5 passenger if travelling long distance with family. Normally front needs more cuz front is heavier.

So I checked out the Shah Alam COE, but it has really bad reviews. Mostly of the past few years, some of this year. Has any of you been there recently? Are they still slow and lazy as these reviews on foursquare say? I hope they've improved. sad.gif

I have sent my car there twice and apart from long wait, theres nothing bad. Even have free nasi lemak for breakfast, cookies and water/coffee.

Haha, nice. Thanks, I mean... I will give it a shot and see how it goes, seeing that it's the most simple of all scheduled inspections, I think we should be fine. Considering it's kinda HQ too, I presume any parts or anything else I need should be available readily.
*
Parts no guarantee to be available but the Proton Parts Center is only a few KM away.
