Maybe that could explain why. The car itself is already so heavy + 4 adults and luggage around 250kg of extra weight  hmm.gif

My bad. Just now when I was driving and saw my meter then it dawn on me. The position the meter was pointing to was 159 not 139. I cant remember who rubbished me off last time when i said 159 and they said impossible, must be only 139. My apologies notworthy.gif .

my aircond now smelly  whenever i switch it on...but it goes away in a minute...whats the problem?
*
Not sure. After I sent my car to proton regarding this issue, I think they cleaned the air filter or sprayed it with something. When I got my car back it smells floral.

they most likely put a bag of ambi pur or whatever those kind at your cabin filter there.
*
i think its sprayed cuz after a few days then theres no more floral smell already. So far the when A/C is off still doesnt have that musty smell.

I have called proton and they told me, you will have to wait for a letter from the insurance agency stating the additional 2 years warranty. I have not receive it yet. Anyone does, please share.
*
I think you dont really have to worry much cuz its in their system.

QUOTE(fafography @ Nov 23 2015, 11:13 AM)
guys,

i drive my baby iriz for almost 4months,
what i realized is, it is so hard to see when it is raining, the wiper does not helping at all..the vision becomes so blur

second is,
i normally use smartag, but one day i need to use touch n go and when i open my window and close it back, the mirror from both sides becomes foggy (because it is cold inside and hot outside)...its block my view to see the side mirrors.
i try to turn on the "hot air button" (idk the name, lol) sweat.gif but it didnt work.

have yoy guys know the solution? especially on the foggy mirror part?

thank you so much!!!

p/s: im a lady driver for Iriz 1.3 Premium Executive | Black
*
Try applying rainX on ur windscreen on the outside. Easier to see in the rain but if not enough water wipers may sound squeaky.

If cold on the inside then need to balance the temperature of inside and outside. I believe the hot air button thing you are talking about is the rear window demister which wouldnt help side windows. I think leaving the windows open for a while would help.

Thanks 4d swift response. yup, tats wat I know, just need to confirm again. thanks
by the way, the other party apologised d for the hasty decision without checking beforehand.

oh ya, another thing wanna ask fellow Iriz owners

to recall my event, it was rainy n I slammed my brakes in emergency situation after noticing that car in front making a sudden stop halfway, I did feel a "clamping" sound to my tyres, is tat ABS? and weird enough, despite pressing hard on the brakes and after the clamp sound, my car still skided forward n ram into the front car.. was it due to slippery road? or iriz braking system got flaw?
*
If its like a hammering sound then thats ABS kicking in. Skidded possibly because tyres loss grip due to wet road or hydroplaning. Iriz stock tyres are not good with wet roads. I did take a risk flying in the rain because I was in a rush yesterday but it did hold well enough(I keep long distance between the car in front and mine and also avoid puddles).

seriously. no wonder despite braking so hard and feelling the tyres stopped, the car seem to like have a "gliding" force forwards... and I kept like 2 sedan cars distance from the front car, the gliding duration was even long enuf for my mind to realise "ok, im gonna get into an accident" then crashed... and pre accident feeling ain't pleasant.
yes, using stock tyres.
after this crappy incident, I really plan on doing so, can we get it changed outside or need authorised dealer or SC to do so? will void any warranty? and wat types tyres u may recommend?
oh, so are u happy with the new tyres sofar? any reduced noise while driving? and how much do they cost after trading in.stock tyres?
*
Normally people will recommend to upgrade rims to 15" as well but will void warranty for certain things. Not sure if you use the iriz 1.6 rims whether they will also void or not.

Wanna ask, you guys air-cond temperature set at what level? Coolest? Or middle?

I used to set it at middle temp. It used to be cold enough, but lately it's losing it's cool. So now I set it to coolest (maximum). On shady or cold days, it gets really cold. But on sunny day it's just nice.. I feel the air-cond on Iriz not as cold as other Proton cars  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Is it just me or you guys feel the same way?
*
Lowest on most days. On really hot days then 3 or 6 turns. Now that proton has tempered with my air cond, i still keep it on lowest but on rainy days/ morning/night its really cold especially since i point them to my hands so that i can cool em down as i drive. Thus mine *keep getting colder.

*due to proton tempering with something when I did not ask them to vmad.gif

thanks for info, Ur SC didnt notice or say anything about voiding warranty?  but mine is 1.3cvt, n does diff tyres n size disrupt the normal functioning of ESC ?
*
Someone told me before that the esc light will remain on for a while due to it adjusting to the new tyre size. Upsizing the tyre will also reduce your acceleration rate at a very minor amount but of course provides better grip and more tyre choices to choose from.

Welcome...
I juz did my first service too on Monday...
Nothing much actually, any issues u need to complaint now...and total is only RM142.00.
But be nice to the SA at the SC since u exceeded the 1k service, and pray they do not void your warranty...  nod.gif
*
No lah. Theres even a case where someone reported they have driven about 2k+ also but after he sent in then no problem with warranty. If exceed then better send in so that they cant complain.

Was doing italian tuneup on the car yesterday and I noticed that at 4-5k RPM theres like a while noise. I suspect it could be coming from a belt or smtg. Radio was off thats why I could hear it this time I think.

2weeks driving on 1.6AT Exec, damn problematic car

Good thing of it
- Nice driving with sufficient power and responsive steering
- 1.6 is quite complete with features

Endless defect
Cars
- Rattling started for both driver and passenger
- power window rolling up and down with sound
- wiper wiping with sound
- spoiler 'tak tak tak' sound when driving uneven road
- brake sound when pressing hard/emergency brake
- closing passenger door got some sound
- odometer for countdown day never updated. It is still showing 1 month for next service

Do i need to reserve a time slot with SC for repairing?

Other
Infotaiment
- Touch screen doesn't work for sometime
- Bluetooth connection doesn't work for sometime

fuel consumption
- damn bad i would say, it is around 10L/100km (is this normal?)

Starting feeling regret with this car  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
- wiper wiping with sound
did u apply some coating on the screen like rainX? If yes then thats probably the cause. If unsure, maybe the SC that got ur car washed before handing over to u did that.

- brake sound when pressing hard/emergency brake
I think I only have this when brakes are wet.

- closing passenger door got some sound
If opening and closing then should be able to be resolved with wd40. I have the same thing partially due to those doors are rarely opened. For ur case, not sure how long ur car has been in storage.

- odometer for countdown day never updated. It is still showing 1 month for next service
Normal. Mine still shows dunno how many months or 10000 km.

fuel consumption
- damn bad i would say, it is around 10L/100km (is this normal?)

Its just u. My 1.3 gives me > 11km/l. More than 10km/l if I keep driving aggressively.

i'm quite statisfied with the car after running for 2000km...except for the motorboat sound when 4000rpm.

hope that it'll last that way.
*
What does a motorboat sound like? I know when I went past 5k I heard a weeee sound.

TBH, dont cheap out on this. Based on experience, I have bought a china Full HD one before where even there was 1 video of the unit's recording on youtube which looked decent. The problem is after a few months the plastic started cracking(i think due to heat[camera gets hot overtime and add sun heat to that]) and the aluminum bent out of shape. Microphone became almost non existent. Video also became very blury with lots of noise after months of usage. So called night vision lights only works for about 5-10 cm distance from the camera.

Now I am using the Xiaoyi Yi cam. Its a sports action cam so you need to turn it on and hit record(can set to auto record using script so you only need to turn it on). Video quality is almost comparable to GoPro and way better than SJ Cam. For DVR some people prefer SJ Cam because it comes with a screen. For dedicated dashcam those that cost about RM400+ are normally good(eg papago). A friend of mine uses the papago and the video quality is really good.

Tl;dr: dont cheap out and buy China dash cams. Do proper research(not looking at lelong reviews).

Tip: #1 Youtube videos may not be as accurate as the actual recording but watching user recorded videos(not promotional videos) can serve as a benchmark for how good it is.
#2 Some come with 2 cameras so 1 points forward and 1 points backwards.
#3 If 1080p or higher, ensure u are using Class 10 SD card or UHS-I(or higher).
