If yours is not connected to the electrical, there is no reason why MMM should void your warranty. Absurd. Does that mean if I install mud flaps on the car they will void my warranty. Totally no basis to void the warranty.

Even if it is connected to the ignition it is just a wire by pass to break electric when the lock is engaged. They is no wire cutting and joining required in the installation.

If I were you I'll write to HQ and state my case. If they still void the warranty, then I tell them I take the case to Consumer Tribunal Court. You just have to pay RM5 to have the case heard in the Court.

I consulted my sales agent. she say as long as no wire cutting or soldering, it will be fine. after you did the installation, did you go for services?

Yes, I did the first 2 services. Had the HU fixed a few times but in the end they changed a new HU for me after I wrote to MMM HQ to complain about the reverse camera always malfunction.

I realized yesterday that my car seems to have a weak crank while starting the car. Mr Google points to battery issues, conductor issues, wiring, alternators. My car is 2 1/4 years old.

I'm driving 2015 model last week I accidentally found a way to bypass the system for play DVD movie during driving (Old multimedia player not the new android player)

1- Play DVD normally with the hand break on.
2- Put your gear to R while keep your feet on foot break.
3- When you see the rear image on your screen, let go your hand break while keep your feet on foot break.
4- Put your gear to D & drive as normal. (the DVD movie will keep playing with sound & image)

ASX has been serving me well thus far except the rear seats, it is really uncomfortable..... any one managed to tweak it a bit in accessories shop or something?

Hi can you share why the rear seats are uncomfortable ? the seats are too hard to sit ?

2015 Facelift version or before the facelift you are referring to.

The 2015 facelift version not so straight compared to the pre facelift version.

I went to the showroom to check out the ASX interior, the rear seat is not that straight, in fact it is quite nice angle to sit, just the leather is quite firm. Maybe they have now adjusted the rear seat angle ? Was the sitting position was like 90 degree up right ?

Any other major issues with ASX which scares people away ? However the Mitsu CVT, is that problematic ?
Is the ASX suspension stiff and towards comfort drive, bumpy over uneven roads ?
I heard the cabin noise is obvious, will go and test drive this weekend to feel the ride quality.

my wife just took delivery of her ASX yesterday and I drove it briefly. Below are my own personal opinion.

Pros:
1) Panoramic Roof (quite amazing to sit at the traffic junction and admire the sky) ) rclxms.gif
2) Pretty decent sound quality from sound system
3) Head Unit is quite easy to use
4) Front seats are definitely great for a fat arse like me
5) Throttle response feels good, decent power when required (0-40km/h)
6) Cabin is pretty silent
7) Throw in Security Film
8) Pretty Feature packed (half-way through the thick manual)
9) 4WD button thumbup.gif

Cons:
1) EPS Steering is really zero feedback
2) Likely lack of top end power range
3) Door opening and closing feels cheap
4) Lack of power seat
5) Road bump is felt not through steering but your buttock

Conclusion:
Basically can tell it is a decent 100+k crossover which I find my money is well spend. Definitely cannot expect the unreasonable. At least my wife seems happy with her new ride.

I see, yours is the 4WD version, so the power could be sufficient, maybe the 2WD is under power ?

By the way, the panoramic roof is black top one ? Would it be very hot inside the cabin after parking under the sun for hours ?

I think both variants are running the same engine and gearing system, in fact if activated, 4WD should be weaker in power delivery due to the power transmit to the 4 wheels.

I have not got chance to sit in the car in the afternoon, I will check with wife and revert. So far have not hear much complains from her yet.

correct, both are running same gearing, just one with a long shaft to the rear with coupling 4wd system.

The problem is the weight , 4WD system add up the weight, if i not mistaken its about 100kg extra.

Power to Weight ratio will be different. Says 1300 kg for 2wd and 1400kg for 4wd with the same engine. the 4wd system will feel heavier. if you engage the 4wd mode it will be more obvious
