This thread is for forex traders (trading for profits or as a hobby) to discuss strategies and post their successful trades for others to learn from. We may also discuss about failed trades and learn something from it as well.

What's good about forex?
1) It's a truly globalised market (open 24/5 a week), we are talking about USD 1 trillion worth of transaction every day.
2) It's a free market. Limited regulation compared to securities exchanges.
3) It's where technical analysis works great (I'm so into some technical analysis).
4) Forex trading skills can be apllied in various type of securities and commodities as well (futures, options, gold,soybean). Good for people who consider trading as a professional job.
5) You can open account for -USD 5.00 (yes you get money instead of spending money).

I updated the post above to show the indicators. These indicators are fibonacci's levels with moving averages.

Wootage those are real money ... my account is virtual trading only ... I'm still training myself.

no offence but the last time i worked at a forex company it turned out to be a fraud...called up bank negara and they said forex trading is only licensed to banks..came out in the papers once..u dun actually get ur basic salary un til u find urself a client...

yeah...its a fraud...those agent also ...i duno...but i think better buy from bank...

china ren min bi will rise..believe me..usd will fall..just as what predicted in this book..

Download and install the software Marketiva.com. Login dan kat situ ada channel Malaysia. Memang ramai orang kat situ ...nak tanya ape2 semua boleh ... support channel pun ade. That's how I started and now quite ok, can trade and evrything.

If you like, I can send you the tools and guides on forex. I think it's a great starting point. Just pm me your email. Make sure it can accept 5 MB attachment though.

I use EMA 88 & EMA 144. Both add high and low. Do you guys use pivot point?

I'm using EMA 5,13,62, RSI 21 and Stoch at 21,8,13. sometimes using the WSS 9.4 for news trapping. i'm trying to get the best Time frame for those settings.

try to insert WMA 192 and WMA 96 to ur WSS..
if the WMA going up...buy
if go down sell
if flat...dont enter position...

u can paste the download link (upload it somewhere) for LYN forexers...

EW is one of the powerful TA in forex...
consist of wave to see the retracment n projection...

if for training..i suggest u use marketiva
for charting n demo account..any broker using Meta Trader..NF, InterbankFx, FXDD ect
i use real trader for live trading..last time using marketiva..

marketiva got chat room where u can ask people question..malaysia chat room also got ...but the charting, too simlpe indicator..not so good to to analysis.

lot of broker, majority i think can accept credit card...Interbank FX is a real liable broker if u want to use credit card..

FXDD can use paypay as payment method..

i dont hold a trade during news. so during red news or big impact i just set trapping o pending order SELL STOP and BUY STOP. so at least can get some profit. frankly speaking, i love more red news for quick and firm profit...

renminbi is it Chinese RMB? why on minor pair? pip spread usually very large on very very minor pair

major pair = pair witw usd.
cross pair= no usd..

that one is kinda rare thing to trade. never experience it so i wouldnt know. furthermore without much info like other major currencies like gbp, usd, chf, jpy the trend movement much more risky and less predictable.

WSS signal..use to slay wild GU

wss give good signal from this morning, but regret i dont enter any single trade for g/u today coz no confidence. today is kinda wild movement. i tot it will reverse before noon...so there's no doubt the wss gave us some good accuracy. if it say STRONG uptrend there's a high probability it will go uptrend

I like the new indicator top left corner of wss9.4.
useful to me to see the trend more accurately rather simply depend on the trend indicator.

btw can you use the EA? mine seems cant auto open position at all.

wow GU was insane yesterday ... I entered the trade just before breakout .. but I made mistake with the stop-loss order ... I got whipsawed .... sigh ...

Should have gotten 120 pips yesterday ... Too bad

why does it meant by having $1000 but can trade $100k?
is this means i just pump in 1k, and i have 100k as capital? if i lose all 100k, then i have to pay additional 99k??

$1 = 100 quantities
$10 = 1000 quantities
$100 = 10000 quantities and so on ...

If u want to try for wss , maybe u can get the Bronze version for 14 days which cost you $20 . Try it first , when u think it helps you alot then u just upgrade to lifetime version. This is what i suggest you to do although i not using wss . Because it is based on the Breakout system , and there are many of FREE breakout system which u can easily find it .

the $1k u put in is the margin a/c..

basically covers the profit / losses arrising from the trade..

Max u can loose is the $1k you put in...

If more.. then "Margin Call" lah... like playing futures ??

so, in the example above, the real profit i earn is $1000 or $10??

To make it easy , let's say u have deposited $1000 (USD) and u open a position for 20000 quantities = ( 200usd) . At the PortFolio it will show that your Used Margin : 200.00 and Available Margin : xxx - (Amount after deduct your Used Margin and Total Profit)

Example : GBP/USD [Bid = 1.9143] [Offer = 1.9148]

You Short on G/U at 1.9143 with 200 USD and u will see a -5 pips because of the 5 pips spread. What will show in your Portfolio is like below :

[USD 1000.0000]
Used Margin : 200.0000
Available Margin : 790.00
Total Profit : -10.00

well if you plan to buy wss dont trust 100% on the given signal. you still need to use your own skill also (TA and FA).

ya, if you rely on a particular signal too much . You might burn up all your money , nothing is 100% just do research on which indicator that u like and suit u the best , try it with different timeframe and different pair and u can start trade your LIVE trading in forex and start grabbing pips everyday .

If you have USD 1000, you trade 100,000 units. It's a 1:100 leverage.

Let's say your investment drop .. your position will be liquidated automatically when the value is 99,000.
So you lose USD 1000 and owe nothing at all (assuming you didnt borrow from anyone the USD1000).

ok ok.. i get it..
it was
buy: 1.9148 * 20000 = 38296
sell: 1.9143 * 20000 = 38286

so, i'll lose $10

i've started to trade using Marketiva. Putting my bet based on GUTS while i go surf around start studying the strategy, indicator, lingo and other stuff about Forex. yeah i lost USD3000 when i finish all the reading/researching. great lesson i have there. that's how ppl who're lack of knowledge lose money. will start trading based on tech/fundamental analysis tomorrow.

That's correct, emotional mistakes is the hardest mistakes to correct IMO.

I am used to Oanda but finally decided to test run marketiva. What the heck. Lucky me made 970 in my first trade, paper of course . . Not to complain but IMO marketiva is really simple. Also a salute to treadstarted for showing his trades here. Hope to learn something here.

FOREX IS ALL ABOUT MONEY MANAGEMENT AND DICIPLIN

money management is very important...20% of ur available margin..

if u have 1000usd..u can only trade 200usd max pertrade..to avoid margin call n less the risk of loss.
