First of all thanks to mod for creating this subforum. thumbup.gif

This thread is for forex traders (trading for profits or as a hobby) to discuss strategies and post their successful trades for others to learn from. We may also discuss about failed trades and learn something from it as well.

What's good about forex?
1) It's a truly globalised market (open 24/5 a week), we are talking about USD 1 trillion worth of transaction every day.
2) It's a free market. Limited regulation compared to securities exchanges.
3) It's where technical analysis works great (I'm so into some technical analysis).
4) Forex trading skills can be apllied in various type of securities and commodities as well (futures, options, gold, soybean). Good for people who consider trading as a professional job.
5) You can open account for -USD 5.00 (yes you get money instead of spending money).

Let's start

Trade : Nov 17 (9pm - 4 am M'sia time)
All positions entered and exited between 9pm-4am.
Total profits : 228 pips

I updated the post above to show the indicators. These indicators are fibonacci's levels with moving averages.

Wootage those are real money ... my account is virtual trading only ... I'm still training myself.

hmm.. don't really understand this thing

why does it meant by having $1000 but can trade $100k?
is this means i just pump in 1k, and i have 100k as capital? if i lose all 100k, then i have to pay additional 99k??

haha.. any good sites that allow me to play a demo account??
*
If you have USD 1000, you trade 100,000 units. It's a 1:100 leverage.

Let's say your investment drop .. your position will be liquidated automatically when the value is 99,000.
So you lose USD 1000 and owe nothing at all (assuming you didnt borrow from anyone the USD1000). smile.gif

QUOTE(ky_khor @ Nov 24 2006, 02:51 PM)
question to the mini, micro lot trader:

the indicator can show differently on different time frame chart. most of u do long term(weeks), mid term(days), or shortterm(intra-day) trading?

is it worth waiting when u're on the losing side? or close it immediately? (or stop-loss?)
*
I use stop loss. It's a very important habit to use stop loss. I trade whenever there's a chance (indicator positive). Many times I dont trade anything at all in a day. Dont force yourself to trade when theres no good trade. You will lose money that way. sweat.gif

WTA....marketiva open account is free of charge?
sorry for noob question....
*
No it's actually -USD 5. sweat.gif You get money instead of paying.

QUOTE(~~5ive~~ @ Nov 24 2006, 03:10 PM)
from virtual switch to real, still using marketiva to play?

Yup ... it has both virtual and Live.

It's open for 24 hours ... but if you trade USD pairs, better trade only when US market is open 9pm to 5 am.

Attached is the .xls that I used to manage the money and calculate the appropriate units to buy.

When I enter the trade, I risk no more than 2% of my cash.
My stop loss is 50 pips (or determined by closest support/resistance).
Given this infos, I calculate how much units to purchase.
This way, I wont lose more than 2% of my cash if the trade hit stop loss.

Let me know if there's any prob with it. Cheers.

The WW is like Mouteki, which mean that you learn by looking at the chart. You didnt need any indicator at all to use this system. Even the 3000usd course(official WW) also dont use any indi.

The indicator was made by thirdparty and the coding are not 100% follow the WW rules.

You can read more on ForexFactory.

Woot. I want WW too ... can email me ?

for those who're using marketive:

1. about the overnight interest, how they calculate the day? 24 hours after u placed the premium? or following the forex market time? but since forex is 24 hour thingy, wat time they considered as 1 day?

2. are most of us with small modal better trade intraday to avoid interest? wat're ur stand?
*
1) Marketiva has zero overnight interest at this time.
2) Trade anyway you like. Zero interest thumbup.gif
